For those curious how much I prepare before playing the scenarios: All I did for this one was coming up with the idea to transform the lake into a hill and check if it was financially feasible. Everything else I came up with on the spot.
It looks amazing! I love watching your process when it comes to the coaster designs. Are there any modern coasters you wish were in the game that aren't currently?
popy & caste?
Some challenges do be like that, then you run into ones that don't play so nice xD
your commentary is great!
your design was amazing!
you have skillz!
and like the names of the rides.
this is the BEST RCT channel EVEHHHH!
I am new to your channel, its very good content, thanks
Aah, yes, the Dutch urge to turn any body of water into land.
It's...beautiful.
Nothing like a nice dike
Hey now, we left the Markermeer untouched. Not everybody of water is turned into land here!
😂
😂
I swear the Proto-Germanic Dutch ancestors must've diverted the Rhine at some point the way it suddenly turns like that, and defeating water turned into neuron activation.
Tony the Sniper always gets the job done
His aim is grrrrrrreat.
snipin's a good job mate! its challenging work, outdoors....
show 'em you're a sniper, show 'em what you can do!
I was the only survivor when I was the slowpoke i still remember how he shot me into an ear, he used Luckily a pressure gun with not sharp bullets so in legal defense it was just my fault that I survived the possible

Other RCT2 youtubers: spend hours on landscaping, buildings and decorations, still not satisfied. Marcel: thats a nice pointy roof.
It looks delicious, like Toblerone.
It is really nice tho
And then it's me who just places rides randomly whereever they fit and places stalls carelessly to wherever my mouse happens to be at the moment and decorations only when they are needed for required excitement rating and then be happy that scenario got done. :D

Which Disney´s main characters are your mum´s favourite to take to bed with?
The ones from Toy Story!
With the rainbow coloured trains too. Beautiful.
Probably would've looked even bigger without all of the foliage at the base.
You've got to wonder if he understands the double entendre. I don't know how often "woody" is used as a euphemism in the Netherlands.
I lost it at "There is one thing this park is still missing in my opinion, which is a nice lake." Absolute comedy gold! 10/10 video
"It would have been cool if this was a part of the landscape at the start" hahahaha :D

Silly Marcel, can't believe he forgot about the huge lake that used to be there.
@@nategar412 No that's a hill, I think.
@@bobblebardsley ah yes, the famous Leafy Hill scenario.

@@nategar412 Yeah, I've always wanted to turn the hill into a lake, but I just can't seem to get enough money for the landscaping costs.
"advertising a lot for a park that's way too expensive actually works"
Shots fired even before there was a sniper in the park
I still have my childhood bunny plushie named Ko (as in Konijn). I lost him when I was little, and it turned out he spent 10 years on the roof, stuck on the lip of one of the windows, covered in dirt and moss. When we finally found him, he was completely battered and lost most of his filling and colors, but the smile my sister drew on his face with a marker was still there. I like to imagine he never gave up hope.
That’s so sweet 🥲
Any idea how he got up there?
alright now I'm crying
@@HolyKhaaaaan To this day I don't know for sure. One day Ko was gone and I just couldn't find him.
I legitimately lol'd when he said he built a sniper nest for any guests who couldn't find their way out of the hedge maze 🤣🤣🤣
Yup, there's always that Dork who makes it to the end, then turns around... Ready, aim, fire ! LoL 😄
They be doing some Squid Game antics in this otherwise lovely park.
Marcel: *Completely examines and reviews the statistics and functionality of every single ride in the game*
Ok, now we can do the lets play!
this was my thought exactly and I hope to see more of this in the future
You can hear the exhaustion in his voice when the guests escape the park in boats.
I always hoped that, when my guests crossed the boundary over the water, they could canoe or tricycle to civilization. I wouldn't miss the boat if they could be free.
Props to Marcel for doubling down on cheesing the scenario to make a much nicer park than would otherwise be possible. I am a full supporter of it, especially when we get leafy mountain, snipers overlooking the maze, a nice custom built lake, and many pointy roof pieces. Happy to see video #3 in the series, it makes my day seeing one of these videos posted.

@11:25 "There's one thing this park is missing, and that is a nice lake" Your delivery of this was second to none.
"I hope you like your trees broke down" What a great notification haha
I hope everyone who gave Marcel a hard time with spamming micro-corkscrews is happy with charging $60 for a park with only a merry-go-round. 😂
Honestly.. I'm more cool with that. Chris Sawyer could have made advertisement drawn guests check out the park cost in advance pretty easily, it seems like intentional design
I am very satisfied with that. Afterall, this IS very much real practice IRL that so so many peope fall for. Not onyl for amusement parks, but for pretty much everything
they wanted realistic, they got it 🤷
I mean I would love to see him play the game legitimately, but I can just watch others do that, usually they play the game once, and that's it. Marcel's contribution to RC1 RC2 and OpenRCT is just priceless, and it's obvious he cares way more about this game nay anybody who plays 1 single playthrough, and then shelves it. Marcel provides the tiny things about the game, how parks work, the numbers, stats, practically any info you could ever want, and or need on this game, and Marcel has made a video on it, which is infinitely more important to me. And it much appreciated.
"Ride of the Dunsparce" is a fantastic name for a steel mini coaster. I applaud you, sir.
No matter what, as soon as you build a boat hire everything dives into madness
TRUEEE
Unless 100% of it is tracked.
@@HolyKhaaaaan I don't like it tracked, it seems it lost its soul. A boat creating madness and getting stuck at the end of the platform is what makes this game so beautiful
Love how on the final shot, you can just see some guests riding the boat hire beyond the park fence
I too, never tire of looking at big woodies. I see Marcel is a man of culture.
Leafy Lake is my favorite RCT scenario. Back when I first played the game - off a pirated CD made in Russia with a pink print that said "Royal Coster Tekun" in bold letters - somehow I liked this level the most. I don't know if it's the vibe, the lake, building next to the path around it or whatever, what I do know is that for the last 23 years I ALWAYS built a wooden roller coaster over there in the back area. The wooden coaster for me is an RCT icon and I always made sure there was a huge, long and realistic design. Regardless of what I've built, I've always been naming it The Leafy Lake Comet. Seeing Marcel go to build a wooden coaster exactly there is such a trip that it made me jump up, then pause the video, start writing this and tear up with emotions as I recalled one of my earliest and fondest RCT memories. Thank you Marcel!
I just replayed Leafy Lake and also put a magnificent wooden coaster in that same spot! Something about it, y'know?
@@LeonCoretz sweet! It just seems so right, you know? I always imagined if it were a real park, they would have a wooden coaster right there!
Loving the series so far!
The Steel Mini isn’t really meant for kids, it’s more reminiscent of the small Schwarzkopf rides (the Mini Roller Coaster in RCT2) than the Zierer Tivoli it looks like. (Being a strange amalgamation of those two is also who RCT2 did away with it and replaced it with the Mini RC and Junior RC).
Also, your mom _is_ pretty great!
adding a lake after removing the other was so good 😂, but also!!! seeing people's childhood plushies always brings me SO much joy and seeing Mouse did much the same, what a well loved friend 🥺. have u ever considered sending them off to a plushie hospital to be repaired? no pressure obviously (i do think think theyre quite charming with the one ear 😍)
My favourite of the series so far! I like the more realistic look of the park, without micro coaster spamming - I like that advertising was used to gain the necessary funds. The sniper was a subtle addition to remind everyone it's a Marcel video though.
You did an amazing job on this park! It seems pretty realistic (aside (debatably) from the sniper tower) and looks beautiful!
Honestly, this series is such a no-brainer that I'm surprised you didn't do it sooner. Your ride overview videos are really informative but it's nice to take a break from the analytical stuffiness every now and then to have some cozy, mellow fun.
_"I will never get tired of looking at a nice big woody like this"_
Well played.
Leafy Lake was my classic favorite level. It has so much space and time to just make something huge and cool.
Hey Marcel...just a note on the "rocky topped mountain" that's only like 10m off the ground
Where I live in Appalachia you have a lot of temperate Forrest material and some larger mountains with a lot of little ridges running down from them...there is also a lot of bald or rocky tops I'm certain areas where the rocks break through the tree cover even on the tiny hills.
Mostly Granite and other rocks like that
I really like the tips on decorating you give. I never decorate, I’m a total noob in this area, but you inspire me to open up that tab next time I build a park
Thanks for slowing this series down a bit and going a bit more into the scenery Marcel! Perfectly paced.
These casual play videos are excellent and great inspiration for making fun and beautiful parks. My parks tend to be way too dense and without decorations, so seeing your techniques really helps. Thanks!
Mom Vos is great
edit: end result's looking good! honestly you can't go wrong with controlled noise in terraforming, even if you don't know what you're doing, the end result will p much always look good
Just gotta say Marcel, I havent played RCT2 in like 20 years, but I love the hell out of your videos. Your presentation and your enthusiasm are really just so welcoming and calming and I really appreciate you putting in the time and effort to make these videos for us. Keep up the good work
This guy got me back into playing RCT and actually taught me how it plays. I play it better now than I did when it first came out. Always had issues with getting more guests, didn’t know at the time you can advertise your park which helps with that. I actually just played this scenario and completed it. RCT seems more simple after watching this guys video.
I like it when you make pretty, interesting parks rather than functional ones with 3-second rides.
There's just something about taking pride in the appearance of a park you've made. I'm liking this series! Keep it coming!
Love the little anecdote about Muis! I also still have a duck from my baby years, and my mother knitted a sort of 'case' for me to put it in and make it look nice again. In fact I still have all my plushies, and I will keep them indefinitely.
This game brings back good memories. Love this channel
Loving the “I’m making it pretty, get off my back” energy.
This park ended up gorgeous. Love this series.
Hey Marcel, I'm not even done with the video but I want to tell you that I enjoy this series sooo much!
I know you mentioned that it doesn't pull in as many views as you would prefer, but I personally really enjoy the time. It's a nice combination of a longer video and your special way of playing the game that makes it both cozy as well as super entertaining.
I hope you find a way of continuing the series while still making it worth your time!
Who else thought he was making a volcano to throw guests into when he started with the stone on top of the hill?
Crazy how much juice marcel has squeezed out of this game. Still feels fresh
I like the sniper in a fursuit to monitor the maze. Nice touch to "motivate" guests.
Love your RCT content as well as your subtle jokes with the unique dusty dry dead pan delivery. Thanks for sharing.
i also never get tired of looking at a nice big woody, thank you Marcel
Enjoyed watching the casual playing style. Its amazing to build insanely detailed parks but its also amazing to just have fun and be silly
This series is a great masterclass on park design at a comprehensive level. Thank you. You make adding decor feel a lot more approachable.
I really liked the added challenge of transforming the land in this video. Appropriate since many parks have big themed areas that they've landscaped and themed to be very different from the natural look of the surrounding area.
Hier alsjeblieft nooit mee stoppen! Ik wil alle parken van rct 1 en 2 zien!! 🤞🏼🤞🏼😊

I think it looks absolutely amazing, my dude. Great job
Obligatory "Mom Vos is great". Great video, good dedication to trees, and a silly concept to boot. I liked the venturing into building making and ride decorating, awesome! Looking forward to more and maybe seeing some of the weirder (cheat-y?) Open RCT tools used for decorating eventually!
Hahah man you had me laughing so loud when the sniper came into play. I was a just wondered if there was a guest killing joke again and you never fail.
Btw great job to make this scenario look so awesome as a results.
Look forward to all your crazy fun ideas in your next scenario plays 🤩🤩
This is the kind of video I would love to see more of from you. Creativity building nice parks with your knowledge of the game and relaxing voice.
That mine train coaster looks amazing, and the hill was very well done with how the scenery was blended together. Excellent job with the playthrough.
This was my favorite park yet!! Your commentary and designs are so amazing, thanks for the good times :)
That he's still easily completing the challenges, (usually well before their time limit) while also meming and doing silly things like removing the lake and making his own, and installing a 'sniper tower', that's what makes this series so great so far.
I'm surprised he didn't drown any guests in either lake though. Should've done that with the very first 'guest' who didn't have the $60 for the proper entrance fee.
Best episode in the series so far in my opinion. Love the look of the park
Thanks for the series Marcel. I'm just getting back into RCT2 after many years and I learn quite a lot from this playthrough.
The pointed roof pieces really make it all come together 👍🏼
Well done. And even removing the original gigantic lake is one great way to develop it into a much more exciting theme park; and no matter what the scenario's original name is for the park, you're free to rename it whenever you wish, such as "Marcel's World", etc.
Watching these RTC playthrough videos on my lunches at work. Great content, thanks Marcel!
Amazing lake. Makes me wish there was a scenario in the original game that started with a huge lake in the middle of a forest... oh well.
merry-go-round: nice. a couple coasters: of course. decorative stalls: nice touch. hedge maze: good cal-wait hang on
Props to you for making such a great park in this scenario. I always go into RCT with such determination to make a great park but I can never achieve something like this. Kudos
4:17 Mom vos is great! Honestly, I have bee n watching your video's for such a long time, I know how much your mom has helped you, so this is totally deserved!
Marcel, thank you for your videos! I am really enjoying this series.
The sniper tower absolutely took me out it was so unexpected 🤣🤣
I've purposely set out to fill in the lake before but I never went as far as turning it into a hill. The park looks great!
this video is insane lmfao
"there is one thing this park is missing: a nice lake" MARCEL LOL
Apparently that boat hire needed it’s own sniper tower. Those guests were escaping!
I do like how the wall for that boat hire functioned like a dam before the lake got drained.
I picked up RCT on a whim from GOG. Now I’m considering getting Open RCT2 just for the quality of life improvements to the game. I’d love to beat scenarios goals and then spend the rest of the game making my park pretty.
To make sure that Guests aren't stuck in this maze forever i built a Tower next to it with a Sniper in it, that will shoot and kill any Guests that are too slow.
The Sniper in Question is a bit of a weird guy that likes to wear a Furry Costume (Fursuit) to work but he has never missed a Shot in his Life.
*This Sentence made me Crack up and i had to Laugh.*
Well, your 12 meter "mountain" is still twice as tall as the tallest mountain in Kansas. Mount Sunflower is only 5m tall yet it's the highest point in the state.
Love these vids Marcel, always seem to keep them fresh and make the parks look amazing.
i had no idea guests could ride the boats out over park boundary fences into no mans land.
"The guy in question is a bit of a weird guy and likes to wear a furry costume to work, but he's never missed a shot" choked on me coffee I was laughing that much!
The junior coaster is gorgeous! Edit: As is the rest of the park!
Takes me back to /r/rct's scenario playthrough. What fun it is to fill in the lake. Very interested to see how you tackle Diamond Heights and its crash-prone coasters.
Jesus christ it is absolutely stunning. Your videos always make me want to return to this game
I'm glad your plushy is alive and well. That's all we can hope for for our childhood plushies.
i was dying after the disney comment at the beginning of the video. another awesome one as always!!!
That's actually an interesting challenge idea: for a scenario try to get rid of whatever is in the name and still beat the scenario, if possible (like removing the lake in Leafy Lake, excavating the rock for Thunder Rock)
I know he's done something like this before where he excavated Crazy Castle, and also that some would be impossible (can't remove the beach in bumbly beach because it's outside the park, can't remove the valley from rainbow valley because you can't change the landscape)
Deurklink has done both removing the lake in Leafy Lake and the rock in Thunder Rock before, which is why didn't just remove the lake here but also put a hill in its place, otherwise it would be too similar. Maybe I can make a valley in Thunder Rock or something.
@@MarcelVos make a giant mountain in Leafy Lake and then a lake again.

Turn Evergreen Gardens into a rocky desert, and Dynamite Dunes into a lush park.
Play Mega Park by dividing it into independent sections, each the size of Micro Park. Oh, and don't have fun while doing it.
With this series, I'm never sure how much of it is serious xD Like, the mine train on the hill is so cool, but then there's that brightly colored food court and I'm just wondering if that was an artistic choice or not xD
RCT2 is a very brightly colored game. I am 100% serious when I say that I like the way the brightly colored food court looks.
@@MarcelVos That's fair ^^ I guess a lot of theme parks have little nooks and crannies that have their own theme, so it's not that unrealistic.
Make more of this awesome park construction, O really enjoy watching how you create the rides and decorate the whole thing !! 😅
Mom Vos is great!
This channel is a great value!
Having ridden several steel looping coasters intended for kids, I can confirm that they really whip you around a lot more than you would expect from a "children's ride." I think the smaller footprint and slower speed encourages the designers to use more tight corners, and the smaller coaster trains don't have the kind of modern restraints that keep you in place better and cushion the G forces. I actually prefer some junior coasters to the full-sized adult ones because I like a coaster to beat me up a little!
It's really fun watching this series, I hope you keep making them
