I love Sarah Mclachlan and know this song well, but I was still stunned by the purity of So Hyang's voice, especially a live version. Something I noticed on a longer video that included this song was that So Hyang moved from where she was stationed and said she wanted to sing this in front of that cathedral. Then she asked that young woman who was standing there (or maybe she was sitting) if she might like to sit next to her and hold the music with her. The woman seemed a little shy but did it anyway. She was probably a pedestrian out for the beauty of the afternoon and came upon the music. Afterwards she had a big smile on her face while she was applauding So Hyang. She will have wonderful memories. If she didn't know who So Hyang was before, she certainly does now. So Hyang includes everyone in the act. There is no pretense. Thanks for the reaction!
Charlene, I read that she asked the lady to help her hold the music, so it begins with a sweet gesture. She is reading the music and lyrics from the printed sheet music. Has she ever heard this song? Not only is her rendition heartbreakingly beautiful, but that performance is visual proof of her startling musical genius. We watched her do the same with "Go Easy On Me". There is not, nor ever will be, anyone quite like this lovely lady. The Creator declined to use a mold to make her. Cheers.
