The greatest performance of all time. 11 lengths, eased down, against world class opposition in Excelebration.. over a MILE.. Harbinger won his King George by 11 lengths, which was extraordinary.. but to do it over a Mile.. this accounts for the 7lb superiority Frankel has over Harbinger..
That won't happen again in my lifetime, unfortunately. Kingman isn't bad.. but to compare him to Frankel is ludicrous on the mile. Absolutely no comparison.
I thought Brigadier Gerard was the best miler I ever saw. Now this superhorse takes the prize. Frankel and Seabird !! are probably the two best racehorses of the 19th and 20th centuries.
I can see Dawn Approach being extremely difficult to beat next season,his attitude is brilliant & he looks to have a very good temperament.Imagine the story if Dawn Approach were to win any of next seasons classics! talk about succesful breeding.
he was well known before last night , i think the official ratings of Frankel s 147 to caviar s 136 prove that one is not just known overnight , there both great horses i think a race between the two is a bad idea why wreck both of there achievements
I agree, The prices thrown about for first year stallions is madness espcially when there unknown at that stage on what kind of foals they will produce. Frankel looks to have everything going for him in becoming a top stallion though, You only have to look at how New Approach is doing at stud in his first season another son of Galileo...
This is arguably Frankel's best performance. The turn of foot he shows here is phenomenal. The opposition is not that great. He certainly never had to cope with the likes of a Mill Reef and My Swallow as Brigadier Gerard did in his Two Thousand Guineas. But that said Frankel was a majestic horse at his best as we saw here and in the Two Thousand Guineas.

He almost broke the course record ..despite losing a shoe !! .....and am I the only "softee" to have tears in my eyes when Tom Queally took him back down past the Grandstand ?? Absolutely the Greatest Racehorse full stop !

i agree with you totally i wouldnt put excellebration ahead of them either but i think frankel does deserve his rating he is a freak a once in a lifetime horse.the same for black caviar she is an all time great.its the way they both win it almost looks unfair to the other horses they win so effortlessly that they make group 1 horses look like claimers.so who knows maybe excellebration is that good but if he keeps racing against frankel he will almost always look overrated.

In The Sunday Times today it said, "Pretty much everyone in the near 80,000 crowd wanted the mare to win". I don't know how it's got turned into this national rivalry thing. I don't suppose horses care much what country they are "from."

lost his first run and finished 3rd with zoffany 2nd to frankel at ascot and lost his last race in usa behind wise dan. i think he won 8 from 15 and four of those losses were 2nd's to frankel. this run though he broke excelebration's heart 2 out. he tried to go with him but frankels stride and engine was just too much for any horse really.
It's a sad fact that the horse that lost will mostly get sent to the slaughter house and get turned into dog food, it happens every day all around the world those slaughter houses are horrible the was a news story about it but that's just what the racing industry does to the horses that were to slow.
