- Depart to the Land of the Dead and follow salesman Manny Calavera on his journey to uncover a web of corruption. Grim Fandango will take you on a four year ride filled with exciting environments, hilarious characters and smooth jazz in a spectacular film noir style.
How to run Grim Fandango on XP and Windows 7
1. Create a folder to put Grim Fandango in e.g. C:\Program Files\Grim Fandango
2. Insert CD 1 of the game
3. Open the CD folder and copy all the files in GRIMDATA
4. Paste them into the Grim Fandango folder you make
5. Do the same for CD 2
6. Download and install the patch www.grim-fandan...
7. Download the Task Assignment Manager www.mediafire.c...
8. Extract the Manager to any folder you want
9. Start up Grim Fandango in the main folder
10. Alt-tab out of the game and run the Manager
11. On the Select Application and Assign tab Grim Fandango should appear after a while
12. Uncheck different core boxes until you have only one core running the game
It should run perfectly after that. If you have any other problems run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 98 and turn off the Hardware Acceleration option in game.
Came here after hearing about the remaster! :)
That's it, after watching Deus Ex, Bloodlines, Bayonetta and this I'm sold. Subscribed.
Probably my favorite game of all time.
I don't think Grim is short... I just think we never wanted it to end.
This lil' light of mine~
I'm gonna let it shine~
This is far from being the best game of all time, but it's probably been my favourite game ever since it came out.
For years after its release, I was completely obsessed with it.
I must've played through it at least 15 times, which is perhaps unusual for an adventure game, where you know the story and everything's so linear.
Nevertheless, I'm about to play through it a 16th time (thanks to you review), and I can't wait to return to that swingin' land of the dead.
Lotteria!
Cool adventure game. Seems like a interesting story to get into.
I think this is the first review of this game on youtube
@TrueBlueGamer Yeah I love STALKER. The thing is I'm not sure what version people would like reviewed. If it's the vanilla one I'm cool with that.
Great review! I am definitely going to play this game.
This game had a massive impact on my life too, unfortunately I can't run it on my current laptop, I got it working once, but then it was just very buggy and it ruined the feeling the game used to give me when I was growing up, I think I may invest in an old desktop and restore it just so I can revisit this amazing game. Apparently they are doing a remastered version of this game, if they are I will be buying it.
its coming out soon on ps vita and ps4!, so if you have one of those you can play it in hd!
LoboDeSade Its already come out bought it on steam and finshed it already
You make really good reviews I must say^^ You should make a review of Fallout 1 or 2, if you have played them of course. :P
You can use ResidualVM to play it, the sister program to ScummVM. It's very easy to use and quicker to get the game working.
@SICKTRICK71 I wish. That game has such fantastic music. Now it's sort of a rare game. I will buy it this month and if it doesn't kick my ass too much, review it.
Still a gorgeous game
Awesome game.
I agree the controls were weird.
But the game was so darn good that I hardly bothered the controls.
My only complaint was that the game was somewhat short.
Thx for the review
You are a great reviewer!
I used to have an old computer laying around whos sole purpose was to run this game.
Also you forgot the most serious bug of all. The elevator moving too fast to do the forklift breakin to the middle floor. I had this game since 1999 and didn't figure out there was a patch to fix this until 2008. As a result never ended up getting out of year 2 legitimately
the genre is hardcore dead, but you can find more free adventure games on a simple google search then the ever existed before the 2000
OMG
good review
Great review :)
Nowhere yet, unfortunately. I'm sure the first to get it would be GOG and/or Steam.
Just get the Best seller editions. They're almost everywhere, and are cheap.
@MrSnuggleduck I would suggest a side by side comparison of the first minutes of the game with or without the complete 2009 mod, just so everyone has a bit of an idea, and then continue the game with or without the mod, either way its an excellent game nevertheless. XD
Maaaaaaaaaaaan how I miss this kinda exploring-adventure games, or whatever the fuck of type this games are... Those which had their environments painted (places) and looked really bloom. Like Monkey Island or shit like that
I WANT this!!! Where can I buy a copy, and will it work on my newer PC?
Hey man, I know that you are probably going to review Metro 2033 next, which is a great game btw, but is there any chance that after that you could review the original Stalker, in a way it's kind of fitting since both have the same vibe and relation to country and development team, plz thing about it. =)
i like the origional shadow of chernobyl myself but i have recently been playing the newest one to get prepared for hopefully stalker 2 what is the newest one call of prypiat it would be nice if you reviewed that one so i know if i should buy it or not
review the never hood
i installed the game... but it never worked whenever i tried to load a saved game... and i really wanted to play this game.. :(
For us,gamers, it is.
Lol IGN stole your footage
Walking Dead game of the year.. How much a year can make a difference for the adventure genre :)
And now the studio is gone... What difference a few more years can make
where could i get this game digtally?
when was this released?
You should deffinetly buy call of pripyat, the gameplay is a lot easier and quests don't reset like they do in shadow of chernobyl.
