I love her attitude so much... That fall crushed me!
Me too, i let out a involuntary swear word
Beautiful gymnast. Her leaps are superb. And she always points her toes.
She has such a beautiful blend of power and beautiful, graceful lines
I love her choreography! It really emphasizes her control over the beam and works very well to transition into her powerful tumbling.
Woww what a way to pull it together after that fall! Go Laurie! It can be hard rebuilding confidence when you get back into competing, but she did great!
It seems all the ladies are a bit off, but with more competition they shake off the nerves
Yeah I mean for some girls they haven't had a competition at all in over a year - have to get used to the adrenalin, the environment etc again. I'm sure by Trials we'll be seeing a completely different picture. :-)
The beam got everyone!
Has anyone actually stuck beam? There appears to be a very contagious case of nerves
Simone was on her game on beam during this meet
Yes Leanne Wong
First or second competition in over a year for most of them. I think in two weeks when we see them again it will be better.
People forget that Gymnastics haven’t competed in over a year. Of course they’re nervous, but with more practice and more competitions on the upcoming season their nervousness will be gone. I’m happy they’re back and finished their routines after falling on beam
Laurie competed in Feb. Nice try tho.
My deductions:
.1 for the front pike (bent knees)
1.0 for the fall
.1 for the prepaparation before the layout series
.1 for the layout stepout (flexed feet)
.1 for the full turn (slight adjustment)
.1 for the pause before the split jump 1/2
.1 for the split jump 1/2 (position of the back leg)
.1 for the slow movement between the front aerial and the split jump
.1 for the split jump (slight lack of flexibility)
.1 for the slow movement between the split jump and the straddle jump
.1 for the pause before the switch leap
.1 for the switch half (position of the front leg)
.3 for the wobble
.1 for the side aerial (flexed feet)
.1 for the arm wave
.1 for the dismount (leg separation)
.1 for the hop
Artistic Deductions:
.1 for lack of complex choreography
Total Deductions: 2.9
E Score: 7.1
D Score: 5.1
Final Score: 12.2
You are too generous. No deductions on the aerial cartwheel?
@@cantor7723 I took deductions for the aerial cartwheel. I took deductions for the flexed feet and the arm wave/balance check that came after it. You think her score should be lower? The only other thing that could've been deducted was her artistry and the slow connection between the split jump and the straddle jump.
When those commenting so negatively and ugly regarding past gymnasts ,can perform these routines much better without any deductions ,than you can talk .
Until that time were to occur -- than keep the negative ,ugly comments to yourselves .
@@wandabailey7870 😂😂😂
@@wandabailey7870 I wasn't being negative. I was just giving my own deductions for the routine.
I'm going to get rocks thrown at me, but it needs to be said. Laurie is nowhere near ready for Nationals, let alone trials and Tokyo. As much as I love her as a gymnast, she's still doing watered down programs (not particularly well) and hasn't competed on all apparatuses yet. If her petition to compete at Nationals is approved, that's a gift and not something that she's earned with her current performance. I just don't see her being in the mix for consideration at this point and she's rapidly running out of time.
You're merely stating the truth and not being mean. No rocks for you :)
No rocks thrown. Completely agree with you. I love Laurie too but unfortunately, I think she waited a bit too long for the comeback (even with the extra year). She’s still not even hitting the watered down routines...Good for her for attempting the comeback. Not many do 🤷🏾♀️
Agreed.
D
She injured herself on bars in training and only went back fully 10 days before this. Ankle smash.
Despite the uncharacteristic falls, i hope Chellsie and Laurie advance still 🙏🙏🙏
Chellsie's petition was accepted.
It seems like everyone was mentally unprepared, with Simone’s 2 falls, Suni falling off bars, Chellsie falling on her Arabian etc, hopefully everyone gets themselves back together for nationals and trials
@@cantor7723 how do you know?
@@mht4908 i honestly felt the same..
@@anikokoren3417 Because it was announced.
What’s with her dismount
I was wondering that also
i’d thought that she’d get in the 6’s in execution b/c of the fall, but she got a low 7! so that means she would’ve gotten a low 8 w/o it!
I wish she'd do a triple wolf, the easiest .5 points in all gymnastics.
it's the ugliest 0.5
and when you fall, it's - 1.0 :)
Surprised that she didn't upgrade her connections... And what happened to her dismount ? Injury ? :(
To be honest, I think that after the fall, she just gave up. Which is a real shame because she fought so hard to stay on the beam. The selection committee needs to see that she can bounce back from making a serious error. Not just throw up her hands surrender.
Looks like she just started it wrong.
@@ravanne3746 I totally agree! I love her gymnastics, personality and how she uses her voice to talk about mental health. I was so thrilled about her comeback! But I have to say she broke my heart giving up on this beam routine. I really hope she will be given another chance to compete and will do her best so that she's satisfied with her performance. But after this weekend I'm not so sure her petition will be accepted :(
The beams used in Indianapolis are cursed. All are new and all are cursed - very few get away without a fall, an issue or something. It's an equalizer if you will. This happens every competition and no matter the brand on the beam. Will someone from USA Gymnastics update the score lists on the website please. ty
I mean honestly I think we are close enough to show them what shes got? The next is US Championships and the trials... Like bust out your moves and forget such watered down routines. It's time to show people what you got . . I'm not saying go full boar but show us a dismount?
she did a double pike at winter cup, where she showed a 5.5 routine and almost hit 14.000, she had a little injury and had to rest before this meet
does anyone know why she didn’t many people had such simple dismounts on beam? like konnor and laurie did a single layout? isn’t that like level 7?
still they all did such a great job!
Konnor was sick. I don’t know why Laurie didn’t choose to do hers.
Ya no está en su mejor momento.
Es la verdad
Floor?
I don't know if she's getting slimmer but her lines improved compared to the Winter Cup
Will someone explain how this trainwreck of a routine got a 7.1 E score while Chellsie got a 6.2?
She only had one more .1 balance check than Chellsie. Chellsie had flexed feet throughout the routine. Laurie had pointed toes on every skill and she only had two more balance checks (both were worth .1) compared to Chellsie. You didn't call Chellsie's routine a train wreck, so why are you calling Laurie's routine a train wreck? You are clearly biased. Laurie's execution was still objectively better than Chellsie's even if the judges underscored Chellsie purpose.
Chellsie had flexed feet (-0.5), soft knees on acro series and front aerial (-0.3), low landing on her front tuck (-0.3), few minor adjustments (at least -0.3) a major wobble (-0.3), she didn't hit her split (-0.1), her mount was a mess (-0.5, I'm surprised they didn't devalue the skill), she took quite a large step on her dismount (-0.1 or 0.3, I'm not sure) which she did with separated legs (-0.1), and she fell (-1.0). Maybe some deductions were given for slow connection and lack of height on the back tuck. Laurie's deductions are described in one of the comments here. Neither of them was perfect, but I love both and hope they will have a chance to compete again!
@@bluepanther1013 Incorrect. My whole point is that they both should have had about the same EScore. 🤦♂️
@@aleksandraprawda5812 Chellsie definitely wouldn't get .3 off for her front tuck. Her knees were bent above a 90 degree angle when she landed, so she technically deserves no deduction (the judges might have taken off .1).
She didn’t qualify to nationals 😭
Wait really? 😭
She did. She had qualifying scores from camp
Do you know who all qualified besides those who won?
She didn't make National Team not even through her camp scores so she is ineligible to compete at Nationals. But she can petition to get to compete. I think she did an interview where she said she will petition, so we will likely see her again.
But she petitioned and she got accepted
Oh god, does she qualified for nationals??
No, she will have to petition. She is not a member of the national team either.
She looked sluggish right from the get go
Time to retire, you already proven you are good,
That's too bad. The rest was pretty solid.
if tom doesnt accept her petition to championships hes gone
