Yep I have a 04 mustang GT automatic dark shadow gray and I went looking for a 5.0 motor and transmission to swap but when I found out the cost estimate I went and found me a 14 mustang GT sterling gray and a 6 speed transmission 16 grand 87 thousand miles and I am happy now enjoying what both cars have to offer
It will never have any meaningful value above run of the mill gts just mod the damn thing and stop trying to preserve it lol. It's an 04 gt dude. I mean no offense intended comp orange is one of the best colors but a gt isn't gonna be worth significant coin for a long long time if ever they made too many even comp orange.
@@midnight347 The value of these cars goes up every day if they're not clapped out like you all do to them. They've doubled in value over the last 5 years alone. My sn95 cobra is now worth more than what you would've paid for a low-mileage Terminator in 2009. In short you have no clue & need to quit ruining cars, if you want build a POS drag car go buy an 80's foxbody.
@@DoctorRickSanchez Maybe I was a bit harsh but the reason there are barely any nice 94-04 Mustangs out there is because people "mod" them and they never do a good job with it They throw cheap or pointless crap on them and then don't maintain them at all The Coyote 5.0 engines are objectively a downgrade, they break more often than any other Mustang powertrain platform by far If you have a 4.6 2v then just own it and enjoy it for what it is, those things can easily go over 300,000 miles if maintained

Its simple. If you a coyote & actually be done right you are going to spend at least 15k. Can't justify the price when you can build the 2v and be more reliable & handle more power than the coyote. The only realistic reason you would coyote swap is for, 1. Rpm range 2. Gas mileage 3. Cool points. Can't change my mind. 🤦🏾♂ Awesome project tho!
@@teelazy2957 i agree, n yes n/a the Coyote makes more power but the blocks handle about the same power levels as far as i know, n i prefer the 2v anyway.. If i was going to build more than 1k hp i'd build a BBC/BBF like a 632ci instead, on pump gas n/a they make 800-1k hp n boosted the sky is the limit..lol
Seems like a Torque Decel option in the tune needs to be disabled, or give one of the pins in the swap harness a speed signal from the transmission. Its probably why it stalls on deceleration.
Have the same issue with the car no I'm not on a tune so I replaced the sensor for the throatle body n still wanting to cut off power when neutral an idle sitting

It's got headers exhaust and tuning probably. I think you gotta use swap headers to swap them so most swaps have headers minimum and usually tuning too in most cases. That is all it takes to be well above 400 rwhp which is alot in a new edge.
@@arthurradiusable We just had ours dyno tuned and it left worse than when we took it there lol. We’re debating on a cold air intake possibly may help with maf signaling not sure.
@@arthurradiusable Little update,Took the car to another Tuner and he figured it out pretty quick. He said the maf needed calibrated to the 4” intake pipe because the Ford control pack maf is dialed in for a 3” or 3.5” intake diameter. Waiting on new dyno numbers and adjustments , should be different plus he uses a Dyno Jet.
How much did the swap cost you guys? Looking to do this in the next couple months, I figure I could get it done with the tranny I have as long I’m careful until I can get a t56, just a motor, swap harness, headers and k member I thinkkkk. No ac/power steering, no problem lol
We used the original 4.6 engine mounts and changed out the oil pan. Your most expensive part is going to be the engine, it just depends on how much you pick one up for and how extensive you want to go with it.
Sucks that you can only do a coyote swap if you have a manual transmission. I’ve heard some 5.0’s have automatic transmissions. But I haven’t seen one personally.

Sounds like its having trouble getting fuel/enough fuel. Or the tune needs to get dialed in. That exterior is insane looking.

I used a ford performance control pack for a 2011-2014 manual coyote and had it tuned on the last engine by Mike Post out of Illinois.
