- Wood species like mahogany, cherry, and golden oak are notorious for bleeding through white paint. So, how do you paint wood furniture white with no spots? Stain blocking primer! I'll show you how I use my favorite stain blocking primer from Lilly Moon Paint to cover this mahogany desk for a flawless white finish.

Hi Kimberly-
I’m on the hunt for a new paint sprayer. (I currently have a Wagner Fkexio and it’s on its last leg).
Any recommendations? I just ordered this product with their top coat!! Can’t WAIT to try it!!
Hi! I loved my Earlex 5500 for many many years before I upgraded to my current one - it’s a great sprayer
Hi Kimberly…great video! What color did you do on the top? It’s very pretty!
Hi! I did a wash of Algonquin by Fusion - thank you
How did you prep the top though for the algonquin wash so you wouldn't get bleed through there?
Using a clear shellac will help that after sanding
@@BorninaBarnBoutique Thank you. I thought that was the case. I appreciate the info as I am about to tackle a similar piece to yours. Thanks again!!
Do you always prime when painting white, even if it’s not a bleeder?
Yes pretty much - whites are not the best on coverage so it helps to cut down on the 5 coats of white and save me a little on the paint!😆
What color was the top plz??
This was a paint wash with fusion Algonquin and raw silk blended
How much primer did you use on this piece?
3 coats
How much actual material? Trying to compare cost of this primer vs Zinder bin shellac
