I use to work here back in the 90’s. Great to see inside again and so sad to see the damage. The statues on the stairs are all Greek and roman gods. The stained glass windows are saints, these windows the stair case and chimneys are all from the old house that burnt down in 1843. I set up the wine cellar you were in when I worked there and the big copper bins were used for logs for the fire place in the main hall. The room M14 was the bridal suite and the corridor to M2 where you were caught is meant to be haunted. Could tell you so much about the history etc. great to see it again
Fantastic old building, a crime to see any building that's listed or simply very old left to decay. Kudos to the Ministry of defence police for their splendid work, also a surprise to see them rather than the local constabulary.
Always the best way, you stay cool, co-operative & polite & do everything that they tell you to do without any argument & most Police Officers (in the UK anyway) will treat you decently, yes there are the odd nasty ones (as you'll find anywhere) but generally, no, you'll be fine, treated well, even if you do end up in the cells of the local nick.
Alarm sensors and cameras all over the house but it took 3 hours after the first trigger before the police arrived. If that had been kids who got in the place would have been destroyed in that time, that’s the only crime here! Loving these abandoned videos that I only recently found. Colin is so respectful of the properties and cars he finds 👍
It's weird how MOD plod turned up for this and clearly didn't know they were on civilian land and that *********** Manor is no longer "protected" land.
Its sad to know that a building like that with such complicated roof structure will probably never be repaired but will be slowly gutted of its interior fixtures carvings and panelling which will end up in auction houses or similar and the house will just decay to a ruin. But at least those pieces will live on somewhere else. Thank goodness its not been vandalised or graffitied. Great Video i would love to have known the history of the place but i will do my research privately.. Cheers.
24:10 them glass windows each one is hand made! Absolutely Beautiful and captures the history of the building! An old art in stained glass making done by hand!! Amazing! This is what you don’t want vandals finding!! 😢
Thank you both for capturing the beauty of this place and for going through what you both did at the end just so that us at home can enjoy seeing inside that awesome building. Stay safe x
"You're arrested for the offence of civil trespass," the what offence? If in doubt use s1 of PACE. Then the other one said it's a "protected" site; er, no, the MOD sold it in 1965.
Trespass of land covers trespass to any buildings on that land also but is not a crime except for if it is an educational building or hospital or under certain amendments made to a law I can't recal atm maybe it's police and crinimal evidence act aka PACE section one like they said when they arrested them, also, I was shocked, they shone the light everywhere and ignored alarms lol, I have never been in a place that big, while I have but all the building where shut, some windows were open but I was sizing it up in the lock down, I have my own rules, for safety too, or not, I would always go alone and not tell anyone or even have a phone, that's why I used to take it serious, one distraction, you can die, another thing I would say is, talk over the police when they bust in, even if it upsets them at first, good things to say are ' I am not a threat, I am not armed I am not a thief, we didn't break in, we aren't breaking laws, glad to see you questioned there lawfulness too, I would too but most lack the balls, you can see him swallow when you say it almost lol
Nice to see that the police do protect buildings like this to stop people going in and wrecking the place or robbing the place i know you wasn't but some people do so its a good thing they did come it will stop people going there who are up to no good thanks for the video 💫👍
I think it is a duty to record these old buildings before they finally fade into the undergrowth! Well done ! The police obviously had nothing better to do! Sheesh!

What a fantastic building, so glad that it's been protected by the police to stop idiots damaging it. I do hope that the repairs are done very soon to stop any further damage. This incredible building needs looking after. A brilliant explore T. B. E 👍🏻.
There is an easier way to explore old Manor Houses. It's called National Trust Membership. I've not been arrested doing that yet... Great videos though!
Wow! That building was out of this world, just amazing. The staircase with the banister and statues that look to be out of a book of fables. Thank you so much for this video, you were very lucky both of you to be let off.
This place is absolutely gorgeous. It’s a shame when the family, investors run out of money and let these historic buildings rot. The banisters alone are miraculous and the Greek/Roman carved statues exquisite! It’s heartbreaking to see so many beautiful places rot. Great video! Thank you for shining a light on such stunning buildings. Hopefully someone sees them and wants to buy x restore these places.
What a magnificent manor house. It's a crying shame "they" have let damage/ water leaks do damage. Such glorious structures need to be preserved, they can't be replicated to the decades old methodology or materials. Too bad you had such a scare. I've previously been arrested for trespassing, but charges were dropped. Wonderful exploration! Do be careful and safe. Cheers 👊👍✌🖖
The last time I saw police presence like this was back in 1966 when me and my friend got kicked out of a bombed Terrence house at the Elephant & Castle I was 7 yrs old.😂🤣
That was a scary experience and how were you to know it was an unused MOD building? You wonder why buildings fall into disrepair but maintenance costs on these old buildings is why. In the case of this one it was probably a vanity building used for social purposes by one of the armed services. They can no longer afford to run it within MOD budget, and although it could be put on the market, who'd want to take it on as a commercial venture? It's very difficult to make enough money to cover maintenance costs, never mind make profit. And were you serious when you suggested that the stained glass windows might be former owners? Those were saints lads, and even the names of those saints were there. The Greek god who ate children? That was Saturn, who learned from a prophecy that he would be overthrown by one of his sons. So he ate them all but one, and that one was Zeus! Greek mythology is really interesting. Well I'm glad you didn't get thrown in jail and that you knew and could prove that you only committed trespass! At that point the arresting officer sounded much less sure of himself! A really interesting explore, but if there's a lesson to be learned it's not to be cavalier about alarm systems. Get out.... fast!
@@cherylmillard2067 Looks like from another comment it burned in 1840's and was rebuilt with a few original features still standing so one would likely say sometime after that date because of rebuild and list original features and age.

According to legend, Saturn, who had overthrown his own father, learned of a prophecy in which it was foretold that one of his own sons would overthrow his power in similar fashion. Obsessed with preventing the prophecy from being fulfilled, Saturn devoured each of his children as soon as they were born.
For trespassing, that a pretty massive response, especially armed police (there was no indication you were violent and/or armed). Although it's weird that it took them like 2 hours...if it warrants an armed response of 10 or more officers+K9, then why does it take 2+ hours?
Awesome video buddy amazing and beautiful building. Such a massive shame it’s left to a disrepair state! As it’s just going to get worse and worse making each month more money to repair! Thanks for sharing buddy 👍👍👍👍👍THUMBS UP👍👍👍👍👍 Anthony, Derby

Anyhoo, I hope they've all subbed. Thanks so much guys. Confession: I'll actually have to watch again. I've got a nasty cold and fell asleep and woke when the dog was barking. lol. ty!
What do you want them to do? It costs a fortune to maintain a property like this, and organisations like the National Trust can't save everything. Many houses like this have been demolished over the last 100 or so years because the family died out or couldn't afford them any more. At least this one will probably get repurposed and not destroyed.
They could mmake it easier by suspending taxes and making renovation regulations easier. But none of them have the sense, they want the money when it comes down to it.

They built chimneys which were very ornate and beautiful as these are , the more ornate and intricate design and how many you had showed off your wealth and status. Beautiful house , love this when you go round old places. And how scary was that with the police? I just hope now they have subscribed to your channel lol.
WOW! Cops in the UK are really nice! I live in the U.S in Upstate N.Y, and if that happened here, you would probably lose your equipment AND be arrested.
its not 1000 yrs old, most of it was built in 1843. In UK 1000 yrs ago we lived in mud huts. What a waste of tax payers money sending all those armed coppers out for a civil trespass. Not surprised it closed, it looked like a crappy hotel.
How would you feel is someone went thru your house ? I think you should be put in jail for several years for all the breaking and entering plus trespassing you do .
Great explore. Glad you are OK it's annoying that they can send that many police to "arrest" two men for a "civil" offence and can't find enough police to catch real criminals commiting real crimes.
@@wardfiction5693 Unfortunately these days the response doesn't seem proportional to the threat. They appear to go over the top on minor issues and major stuff gets brushed aside.

OOps! Dark outside, bright lights shining from inside for neighbours to see, ignoring beeps, and still staying! Heroes! We know your intentions, thank god the cops cottoned on early to your motives! Was that Tazer offerrng a business card near the end???!!! Doooohhhh! Edit:Sorry totally forgot the site guys for the excitement, excellent location and explore , well done.
If it has been around since the 11th century it suggests it could have been a fee (gift) of land by William the conqueror to one of his knights. The end reminded a bit of the end of Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
I recognise the place, those Police patrol the area for the Establishment that backs onto that site. They watch everything going on around there. Even showed up when I had a puncture nearby! Usually nice guys though :-)
Bloody hell, that was scary for you! Lucky Tazer had his head camera, and bloody lucky they were good with you. With the dogs in the dark you've no idea if they're police dogs or a bad security guard like on another channel i saw where the security was really nasty. I wonder if the police have checked your channel out, bet they have. Really glad that it was OK in the end and that you are both so polite and respectful too which goes a long way with the police. What a fantastic place!! ❤️

It's great to see these places being protected from could be vandalism with response from the police but extremely unprofessional to arrest you for trespass with it being a civil matter. Well done for knowing the law on this and making the police aware, I think you would of had many many hours at the police station if you didn't.
I noticed on one of the police cars it was Ministry of Defence Police were you on M.O.D land I bet you shit bricks when they started to kick in the door and the sound of dogs barking you must of pissed your pants ha ha Good video boys keep them coming
The thing is, i wonder if you asked either the police or the trusts if you could record on the properties they would possibly allow it explaining its for historical and for documentaries they possibly would allow on such a large estate.. .. just shows that a lot of listed buildings are still monitored !!.. possibly the building went into bankruptcy and is owned by a bank type thing lovely property that deserves to be documented .. these videos are awesome
Might be an idea dont u think to ask "somebody"? This place is incredible and I'd love to have a good nosey too but there are Laws to protect peoples or Trusts properties.
A dozen coppers, some armed, a dog and god knows what else. For a civil trespass in an abandoned building? Really? If you get burgled now in the U.K. the police send you a DIY finger print and investigation set, sent in the post - three months after the event (if your lucky) and a leaflet or email telling you the police are Trans friendly and tolerant and then goes on to encourage you to make your own enquiries and canvas the local area for cctv footage of your own robbery and violation. The after care / follow up for your burglary, robbery, or home invasion, is a Christmas card in 94 languages. They don’t respond even if you are in fear of your life. They don’t want to know. So why all this? It’s tragic. Legally he could prove roadside that he didn’t break and enter, he could show his channel, his subscriptions and the topic he’s interested in on his phone. Explain in full what happened previously when more intelligent officers had detained him, and explain to the old bill that a listed building doesn’t by virtue of being listed, elicit an automatic police response of half the county force night shift. De arrest roadside, exchange pleasantries, and magic 🪄 your on your way. Legal sensible and practical. Less paperwork too. This is a joke of an overreaction. Great video, great channel, and always showing total respect for people’s personal property. Respect ✊
WOW that was fun. I was watching Explomo videos and clicked on yours by mistake so I thought I'd watch you. The cops were so nice, if you were here in USA things would not have gone so well. I think maybe they had nothing else to do that night. I'm from UK are any videos made in Hampshire ? . Anything from Winchester or Southampton areas ? Lovely house but a bit weird 😂 Is it from Tudor times ? Have a look at Explomo videos, like you they are kind and caring about the homes they visit. Thanks for the excitement to start off my day. Mate I would have been so scared going up that clock tower my vertigo was going off watching you
Nice video Colin and Nathan 🤝
I’m glad we got to see a lot of this place 😎
All the best 😃🍻👍🏻
They built chimneys which were very ornate and beautiful as these are , the more ornate and intricate design and how many you had showed off your wealth and status. Beautiful house , love this when you go round old places. And how scary was that with the police? I just hope now they have subscribed to your channel lol.
WOW! Cops in the UK are really nice! I live in the U.S in Upstate N.Y, and if that happened here, you would probably lose your equipment AND be arrested.
American police could learn a lot.
Thought I was watching hot fuzz near the end of that. Good video as usual though 👍
Awww that copper knew tazers name 😂
Amazing building, and full congratulations, on the respect to the building and the police for treating everything good in the way you do 👍
This is one of the coolest houses I’ve seen on your channel. The view from the top was incredible!
Yo that building is awesome 1000 years old 😀🤣😂
Older than America big time lol
Such a shame its been left to rot.
its not 1000 yrs old, most of it was built in 1843.
@@jimivon1355 shut up
Excellent video. The police man at the end seemed a nice guy.
Great explore. Glad you are OK it's annoying that they can send that many police to "arrest" two men for a "civil" offence and can't find enough police to catch real criminals commiting real crimes.
Well said!!!
@@wardfiction5693 Unfortunately these days the response doesn't seem proportional to the threat. They appear to go over the top on minor issues and major stuff gets brushed aside.
The reason for "overkill" is probably due to the fact that this property is directly adjacent to, and borders with a working nuclear facility.
I am arresting you for the offence of civil trespass. Really?
Exactly. Also; if squatters move into your house while your away plod won't do anything because it is a civil matter. All arse about heel.
I thought the end with the police was brilliant nice one guys
"They were the old owners," no they're saints.
My god what a gorgeous house. Those carved statues are stunning and each room you’ve seen, it needed to be seen and hopefully someone will buy it.
I'm so glad i've found your channel I'm really enjoying it, Love all the old buildings and the history that hold. Love all your video's they are great Thank you so much for sharing
A stunning looking building that needs preserved and it's good the two legged rats haven't been in destroying it.
It's a shame that such a beautiful place has been so neglected!
Pretty sure the alarms did shit but your torches alerted a local. Great video, just shows if you stay calm with the police they can be okay.
Pain in the backside for you guys but really nice to know its being protected 👍
mmmmm just a shame its not cared for properly as it should be , National Trust should get involved perhaps
Why are the MOD protecting it though? The one copper said "it's obviously a protected site," but it was sold by the MOD in 1965.
Check and see if they are first edition books! Those will be the must valuable!
Sorry u got busted, I enjoyed what we got to explore!!👍🙏💕
this is why you need a set of eyes on the outside possibly with a drone in the air .there isn't any law of trespassing.
Love this explore. What a great place to explore and fair play to you for showing us history. Looking fwd to the next one.
I recognise the place, those Police patrol the area for the Establishment that backs onto that site. They watch everything going on around there. Even showed up when I had a puncture nearby! Usually nice guys though :-)
Are they from AWE? The one copper seemed to think the manor is "protected" land, even though it was sold in 1965 :)
@@Harbourmaster68 Yes, I think because it was basically built in its back garden
@@LB-yr6nz It's weird they don't seem to know the boundaries.
Damn that was scary! I'd be terrified too! Be careful out there, mates!
That moment you shuffled up through the window opening and onto the clock tower staircase was superb! Good effort
Amazing property, the architecture is just something we don't see any more sadly, glad you both managed to get away ok 👌👌👌
Wow guys I would have 💩 in my pants😳...
I'm sorry that happened to you 😔 but thank you so much for it. That place is just beautiful. Such a shame it's in such a state and I hope they can get it repaired before it's ruined. Thanks again be safe out there.
Great video of this amazing building. I think it’s important to document these buildings before they are lost forever.
At 39.04 thay say that they are the ministry of defence police.. So it could be M.O.D land
I loved this building!!The History!
So cool the cops let you off, thankyou for putting yourself out there for us👍✌
The thing is, i wonder if you asked either the police or the trusts if you could record on the properties they would possibly allow it explaining its for historical and for documentaries they possibly would allow on such a large estate.. .. just shows that a lot of listed buildings are still monitored !!.. possibly the building went into bankruptcy and is owned by a bank type thing lovely property that deserves to be documented .. these videos are awesome
Might be an idea dont u think to ask "somebody"? This place is incredible and I'd love to have a good nosey too but there are Laws to protect peoples or Trusts properties.
I was terrified for you! I'm glad they let you go and seemed to be quite friendly. Be careful!
Take care always.
Wow, how the other half live (or lived)!!! What a place - the most exciting of your explores, in more ways than one!! I thought the police were quite reasonable and you gained a few more subscribers!! 😃 Gill
We've just tripped an alarm, wow look at this 😂
We all would tho 🤗😂
What an amazing building I really hope it gets saved
Pretty sure you need to complete a puzzle with the statues on the stairs and you get the club key and then you can get the shotgun
38:14 Oh shheeeeett!!(Glad you are not in Prison, then we would miss ths type of content for some time. Glad you are okay)Keep up the good work!!
The beautifulest woodwork carvins are fabulous the beautifulest I have ever seen thank you
That was a fantastic place and a treat to be able to see inside...pity you got caught!😀 I love watching your videos. I’ve only just found you so, lucky me..loads to watch. 😁👍
Tazer uploaded this one last night - was a very good explore until the end 😮
