Today I have received my Hohner New Super 64 performances chromatic harmonica costing Rs 47, 857. The Harmonica I find quite heavy. Now I am planning to practice ,so that I may enjoy and spend valuable time in Lock down period which subsequently help me to play harmonica in a more better way.
What's the difference between Super 64 and Super 64X? And the difference between Hohner Super 64 and Hohner 280? Will appreciate if someone may explain, thanks!

If you start from nowhere, I'd recommend buying a Marine Band or the screw-attached Marine Band Deluxe in the Key of C. I wouldn't buy that fancy chromatic stuff before you play the diatonic well. The chromatics in general are mainly for those who've played the Marine Band (or other diatonic harps) for years and want a greater range of notes.
The Discovery 48 is a great model to start with. Don't buy a Marine Band like one guy suggested unless you want to p!at blues or rock harmonica. The Discovery 48 is a nice harmonica that I play daily. It comes with a nice case for carrying with you. It is not as expensive as the others you listed in case you find that you don't want to pursue harmonica. I have more expensive chromatic harmonica but I find myself p!aging my Discovery 48 more than the others. Hope this helps you.
The Hohner Super 64X is a beautiful monster and performer and the sound projects awesome especially in the low octave. Actually the Hohner Super 64X costs less than Seydel Symphony to own one.
I agree! The 64X has a very special tone that is just unique over other factory made chromatics simply from the thick reed plates. I like how the tone stays more consistent in the low range due to this fact, too!
Unfortunately not, but for the same money you‘d pay for the Super 64x you could also hypothetically get a Seydel Symphony 48. I have to decide between the two myself at the moment, but I‘m gravitating toward the Super 64 because I‘m sure I‘d be missing the bass octave. Also, she‘s just an absolute beauty!
The closest one you could get would be the Hohner ACE 48 which has a similar adjustable slide system but no double reed plates. You could get a double reed plate 48 made for you from a harmonica customizer!
Many things such as the Hohner Super 64 having one additional lower octave so it is bigger, different mouthpiece assembly, adjustable spring, and several more things. I hope that helps!
Nice Harmonica. Hohner make very nice chromatic harmonicas. I do feel however when these chromatic harmonica players insist on trying to bend the notes, what comes out to my ear is a flat note, to my ear rather than bending the note, just use the slide bar and don;t bend. This way the notes sound clearer and in tune. Just my view.
I am abhijitroychoudhury,proud owner of 64chrimonica for last 40years,, it's still wonderful but needs tuning coz Last forty year's no t a screw driver was needed for it
I prefer the Design of Ron Bartlett's slide adjustment the best where you tension the spring through the turn of the button,and to dismantle his harmonica is simplicity itself

Does Hohner make a 12 hole model that has comparable features as the Super 64X?

No thanks. I'll go with Seydel, they seem to have much more variety and better quality. That's my opinion.
