Thomas Brown is in a great position to improve as a coach and will definitely be helping with future and a good chances that he maybe ends up as being an interim head coach!!
Sean McVay is high on him. Behind the scenes, this may already be his audition for the HC position. I really liked what he said, very reminiscent of Mike Tomlin.
@@SportsTalkBears1 I think If he's not HC here, then in a few short months, he'll be hired somewhere else as HC. Outside of Ben Johnson, I can't think of anyone else I'd rather have, Maybe you have a few ideas Shawn?
@@kennethmacgregor-Gregorach it’s tough since it’s so early… no idea who will be available… There are rumors that Shanahan might be out in San Fran? Gruden has been reinstated… this could get super interesting.
I like the idea of launching 'flus immediately and giving Brown a look for the rest of the season. But ... If I own that team I would have to be absolutely blown away to make the move permanent. At this point in time, the next Head Coach *HAS* to succeed. Otherwise, you are looking at yet another GM/HC regime change and probably another rookie "franchise QB" whose career was destroyed by incompetent ownership (let's face it, the McCaskeys are the problem with the Bears). My bar for hiring Brown for that job would be almost impossibly high.
No, officially select him as Bears OC going forward and beyond and then bring in Vrabel as CEO and thus also elevate Washington not only as D coordinator but as D play caller. Not rocket science people.
I wouldn't hire anyone before the end of the season. We have only seen 1 great game from TB. I think his playcalling is great, but don't run out and hire anyone until game 17 and then we can see what our choices are for OC and HC. and DC. If you want to get impatient, you will lose your options. You want to get rid of Eberflus now and see if TB wants to be Head coach/ OC till the end of the season and he can handle both like Shanahan + Mc Vay I don't have a problem with that. But if you want options for Head Coach/ OC call around and see what's going to be available after game 17. Especially B Johnson It's not tampering it's just gossip.
@ I don’t disagree with that sentiment but my point remains; Flus keeps missing on judging men; so yes if the O repeats responding to his demanding style then acknowledge it. I meant elevate Hightower as interim for this season only to finally show real accountability
@@gyterdoneJP7315 I agree Eberflus has to go. If he went tomorrow I'd be happy. I just think that we should wait till the end of the Season to deal with contracts for next year. Isn't it amazing that only 1 out of 5 QBs drafted in 2021 is still with his original team and that team is bad. The 49ers put out 3 1st rd picks for Lance. GO 🐻S
The defense is still great. And that is because of Flus. If this OC takes on head coach then he has less time to focus on calling the offense. That would be difficult. Andy Ried does it but I don't know of another head coach that calla offense. It's obviously not easy. The defense is playing very well. With Flus gone, the defense will collapse. Love Smith comes to mind. Remember what happened when the Bears let Lovie go with a winning record at t he end of the season? The Bears haven't been consistently good since Lovie
Would love to see Brown continue to improve the offense and already on board to see him be interim if he shines against the Vikings. I was told the Bears have 29 coaches and wonder how may struggle to be quiet about the failures of Flus.
Good analysis on OC Thomas Brown Shawn. Its been one game so its hard to evaluate based on that but the Offense sure did click under his play calling. Minnesota is a better defense than the Packers especially against the run. RB Johnson will be called on to do the job. My fear is Eberflus in close games is a liability. I think this will be a close game but Vikings QB Sam Darnold is now playing like the back of his football card. Bears at home with the crowd should be a win. I think CB Jaylon Johnson has something to prove after tripping on that long Watson pass play has said he would have picked Love's pass if that didn't happen.
@@SportsTalkBears1 We both know the talent on the Bears is better than their 4-6 record shows. I think coach Hightower is a bright spot & expect this blocked field goal to be a non issue going forward. He took the blame one of the gripes I have against Eberlose is no accountability !

We as fans are so desperate for a real coach we are jumping the gun on Brown ! He has to do this rest of year with CW and offense. What should be done is brown as Interim HC right now !! Thing is, if brown becomes coach, who runs offense ? Brown will have HC responsibilities. He has to keep this offense productive rest of year. We shall see. I'm optimistic myself. What do you do if miracles happen and the Bears go 6-1 or 7-0 to finish the season off. Why would you then replace Coach Eberflus. I know it is not likely, but then why are you speculating about next year. Let’s all calm down and see what happens by the end of the season.
The Guy's been OC for 1 game. Cool the jets before we make another epic mistake.
I agree its only one game we deserve more
they cant help themselves
I say no- look at the Raiders one year later.
Can we hire a TOP TIER COACH for ONCE???
At this moment Thomas Brown isn't even in the 10 top candidates.
Ben Johnson as Head Coach and Leslie Frazier as Defense Coach and Lovie Smith

It's way too early we got to see how everything plays out
The Bears just don't fire coaches in mid-season. They just don't. They will fire Flus after the season.
1 game in I’m not sold but we do need an aggressive defense caller. Rex interviewed for Dallas maybe he will for bears defense
I just want a smart Coach that knows what’s going on and what to do in every scenario! That’s literally your job!
Pretty basic ask, right? SMH
