I agree that sequencing is incredibly important for the tracklisting of an album. It's kind of sad that the majority of people don't choose to experience an album as a complete work of art and, instead, treat it with the same respect they would a Tik Tok reel. The concept of 'attention span' will one day be considered an abstract philosophical concept only studied in 30-second partitions by students enrolled at once esteemed universities.
Great video, I appreciate the leveled mature commentary on what is an inevitably emotional album for many fans given what the band has gone through. Subscribed!
I hadn't heard anyone say that Linkin Park doesn't excel with their heavier tracks until you did and I really appreciate that. So many people see Linkin Park as a two album band and ignore everything they've released after 2004. I understand that some people are just not into softer songs but when considering the identity of a band you have to consider their whole catalogue, not just the things you like, and I think you did a good job with that. I think this album fits in really well with the rest of their discography while also representing a new direction and I'm really excited to see where they go next. Excellent review sir.
Honestly, i've heard the album from start to finish a few times and because the album loops on itself (which i can't think off the top of my head another band successfully doing this) you can start where ever you feel is a good starting point and just loop the album. For me i would start at maybe "over eachother" and let the songs play and finish with "heavy is the crown" making the intro more an interlude. Following this comment i feel this is such a powerful album and packs some great tracks the only one im not sold on was "cut the bridge". But loved every other song and i'd say my top 3 are "good things go" "overflow" and "two faced". Emily has a great range and im in full support of her. I held back my judgement until i heard the full album and i may have set myself up for dissapointment but thank god i was wrong. This album for a comeback without chester is phenomenal. Well done linkin park! I hope we get another 10 albums. Wow. 8.5 is where i would rate this, and definitely in my top 5 LP albums.
It definitely far exceeded my expectations. To be honest, when they first announced Emily was replacing Chester I was shocked and thought they should rename the band, but now I can’t wait to hear more from them.

8:14 stained is mine too. it's been on my 'on repeat' playlist since the release, and even now the song still hits me where it hurts. it's almost a no-skip album for me (casualty is alright but not great for me) so i'm on my way to order a vinyl copy.
The only thing I didn't like was the length of the album, 30 min is way too short. Other than that, I really like Emily being in the band and look forward to the future of this Linkin Park.
The 3 extra songs on the expanded digital version (which is all in FLAC format) are 3 live versions. Emptiness Machine from the From Zero stream where they introduced Emily and Colin. Heavy is the Crown from the London show and Over Each other from the Paris show.
I love the new album! Some killer tracks and Heavy is the Crown sends chills with Emily's vocals. I have a Zoetrope one as well but it's hard to get the animation firing up properly with the right phone setting!
The extra 3 tracks from what I know are just live version of the singles! I was really hoping they'd have bonus tracks, so I was sorta bummed. Although I do think it's possible they'll release more stuff soon, a lot of artists seem to be doing that.

I pre-ordered two copies, one was a zoptrope just for fun, and a regular color version. It is still enroute from Warner Canada but shipping has been slow with Canada Post on strike causing other shippers to be too busy. It will show up eventually, by Friday I am hoping. I do like the 3 tracks that they released but I have not streamed the rest, hoping to hear the balance on vinyl. Cheers
I liked the first 2 LP albums and kind of jumped off after and I heard this album and was really surprised. I’ve been enjoying it and plan on picking up a copy of the CD when I get a chance.
I see them differently now for the better, I got it on release day at amoeba on CD a lot of the songs are already burned into my mind. Theyve perfected many formulas that are perfect linkin park sounds while not going backwards and still making a new sound
I’m very impressed with the album. Out of the 10 songs I have to say that the only song I didn’t like was “Overflow”. The rest were either good, great, or even excellent. As for Emily as a singer she’s pretty good. As for her personal life I truly believe that she’s a victim. None of what happened in her personal life isn’t her fault. She was indoctrinated at a young age, and I have a lot of sympathy for her. Imagine your OWN PARENTS indoctrinating you into a very controversial religion. That said, I think she has a lot of potential to be incredible as she becomes more confident as an artist.

Did you end up getting the One Steps? If so, how do they sound? Also, I find it odd that they transferred the original digital masters to tape, then digitized that to 24/192 for the cutting of the lacquers. Can you explain why they did that on Hybrid Theory and Meteora?
My review of From Zero by “Linkin Park” If you are wondering why I put Linkin Park in quotation marks I’ll explain but first of all this is just my opinion, From Zero is a good album but it pales in comparison to Linkin Park other albums especially Hybrid Theory and Meteora. I am not discrediting the talent of anyone in the band especially Emily but it just doesn’t feel like Linkin Park without Chester, this should have been a different band instead of continuing Linkin Park. The biggest problem is the songs where its just Emily singing without Mike as they can feel like another artist rather then Linkin Park. But Honestly did we really need another album from Linkin Park after Chester died? Bring Me The Horizon is pretty much the modern Linkin Park as they are filling the void for them so we don’t really need Linkin Park to return. Honestly the whole controversy about Emily's ties to the church of Tom Cruise is more interesting then the album itself which is a same as I was kinda hoping for something to blow me away but no its just a good album which Linkin Park didn't need, they needed a modern masterpiece like Hybrid Theory or Meteora. But if you love this album then I'm happy you're happy, I'm not trying to ruin anybody's parade I'm just saying I think you deserve better. You are tripping if you are seriously giving this album a 2 out of 5 😂😂 this is easily tied for there 3rd best album. This kind of comeback is like unseen given the break they had and with a whole new vocalist. Honestly I don’t believe they could have made this album with Chester. His vocal cords were damaged that’s why you stopped getting songs as heavy as two faced and heavy is the crown. I love Chester as much as you do, but to discredit this INCREDIBLE performance from Emily is insanity. Also, I don’t care about her personal beliefs, the music is why I am here and this album really sh!ts on a lot of there previous albums 🤷♂️ it’s that good. (MY OPINION) 4.75/5

And then they get Emily and now despite a few pop songs (which were done better this time) they have gone heavy again. The entire fan base was begging them to go heavy again with Chester and they didn’t, but now they have. Have you ever wondered why? If Chester was alive I don’t think we would have gotten this album. As sad as that is to say.

I mean they straight up copied the melody from their old hit Final Masquerade for the Emptiness Machine... I wouldn't call that taking a risk.
