    Hello @Mike FreeRider Gagne, you have the chance to regularly use the 2 models, in terms of the real weight and the weight perceived when driving, what is the most agile model for you when the terrain becomes more complicated on the roads in the north of the thailand (I'm from Chiang Mai)

    • @mikefreeriderAsia
      @mikefreeriderAsia  Рік тому

      Well for me I decided to stay with the NC and now I have 264,000 km. Weight-wise are both the same, but handling in offroad situations the NC is much easier to ride . If I was just doing touring I would likely ride with the X ADV it is super comfortable for long distance touring. If you check out my channel you will see that currently I'm also riding a CRF 250l and just picked up a CRF300 Rally as well. If you live in Chiang Mai I would highly recommend this dual sport. Currently Considering getting an X-Adv, What would be your tips for this? Like reliability, traffic filtering, fuel consumption and offroad worthiness. IS there anything that constantly needs attention parts wise? and how is the STOCK lighthing for night rides? HOW comfy is the pillion as I pretty much always ride with one. Sorry for asking a lot but I just cant find any dealership nearby "and far" that has one on display for me to check out.

    • @mikefreeriderAsia
      @mikefreeriderAsia  4 місяці тому +2

      Well I will try to answer as best I can. For filtering in traffic it's a little bit on the wide side especially if you add panniers.
      Fuel consumption is exactly the same as the nc750x, and actually it's almost the same motorcycle except for different fairings!!
      Comfort for a pillion is excellent, the bike has lots of wind protection.
      I know that they've shown videos that it's an off-road motorcycle, but from my experience I did do some off-road what was not comfortable due to the amount of plastics on the bike and if you drop it even with the crash bars repairs are generally expensive.
      I always add lights on all my motorcycle as I actually like to ride at night and the stock lighting is just adequate at best.
      I eventually sold mine, I prefer the NC for my purposes as it's more off-road capable but I also have a CRF 300 rally which is great for those more challenging off-road situations.
      But if I was only touring most likely I would have stuck with the x-adv
      Thanks for watching and ride safe

    Hi Mike, I'm interested in those two bikes. In the offroad section of the video, you never compared them in offroad use. You just mentioned that you prefer use the NC because, it is not new, so you wouldn't feel that bad if you crash it. I would like to know which felt better using it offroad. I know it's been a while and you have since then gotten rid of the xadv but your opinion on which feels better on a little offroad "gravel" would be greatly appreciated.

    • @mikefreeriderAsia
      @mikefreeriderAsia  Рік тому

      Definitely the NC for off-road, the X-ADV is very wide in my opinion less nimble for offroad. I can stand all day on my pegs on the NC with the right tire combination it's good. you probably saw that I have 2 CRF'S, you want offroad this is really the bike that is really enjoyable. Anyhow I appreciate your watching my videos.

      Well you used to see quite a few of them in Thailand but now with the X ADV you will not find any. The Integra is very similar to the nc750x using the same engine and transmission and only available in DCT. People that have had them really enjoyed them but not great off road because of all the extra plastic panels that can go wrong but if you're looking for a road bike for touring I think it's good value and for sure the engine and transmission will last a long time

      Well my update is I finally sold my X-ADV, and I'm still riding my NC. One of the big reasons is I like to go off-road and the NC is more capable in my opinion plus if you do dump it the plastic is much less than on the X which can be quite expensive also the X ADV is wider and even though you can stand on it it's harder to touch the ground in my case. Mike why you bought both, i mean one day you take one and the other day you ride on the other? Who is better for city traffic?

    • @mikefreeriderAsia
      @mikefreeriderAsia  4 роки тому

      Well, as I had limited experience with motorcycles when my NC750X reached the 150,000 km, it was running rough, the suspension was shot, and I really liked the look of the X-ADV so I bought one for my birthday!!
      I rode it for 8 months and my NC was very idle, then one day I decided to upgrade the suspension on the NC750X with YSS and wow the bike felt awesome. For Highway touring and long distance the XADV is awesome but not so great off road especially with all the plastic fairings and my NC750X is already battle weary!!! So I have been riding the NC for the last months because I do enjoy some off road and I want to keep the X ADV for nicer rides. As for the tire difference they both have 17 inch front tire just the X has a 15 inch back Tire but honestly you don't really feel the difference. When it comes to riding in the city I typically use a scooter especially with the insane traffic in Bangkok. But if you're looking for something that you can ride in the city probably the X ADV

    Do you think that the X-ADV is worth 50% more than the NC, considering both brand new (2022 model) with DCT gearbox?

    • @mikefreeriderAsia

      In Thailand it's not 50% more but given the additional features like dual disc in the front, adjustable screen, and all the extra body work it should be more but definitely not 50%
      I eventually sold my X-ADV because for my riding style it was not exactly what I wanted and the NC is more versatile when it comes to off-road, not perfect but much better as there is so much less plastic to break, and the seat height was a little bit higher.
