You're in your own home sweet lady, you don't need to wear gloves. Just like anyone else, washing your hands is what matters. I have loved and admired you forever ❤🙏
Kim Honeycutt love that she did wear them. She used them on another show.
@@tfallinbbq Good Lord, she's in her OWN house! You people need to get a grip!
Cinda Kellogg exactly!! No chief uses gloves!!
Amen. I agree with you
Shoutin' it from the rooftops...PLEASE continue doing these videos every day, even after the quarantine is lifted. We need and miss you, Miss Paula!!! I look forward to these videos every day!!! You bring me so much joy!!! :-)

I totally agree! This is so much nicer! But I'm sure the money isn't as good. Haha!
Agreed
I agree. Love watching from her home kitchen with family and dogs running through the kitchen barking.
Yes I have so missed her on TV I was so heartbroken when she had to leave food Network... So I was in Paula Deen heaven when I found her on UA-cam...
I have always been a True Fan of yours. You are a genuine southern Queen!! You have a Nurturing Spirit and these videos are sure needed in this time. This is the 2nd time you've come into our home and hearts when it was needed the most during 911 and now during this Pandemic!!! We need and LOVE your recipes. Stay safe out there Paula and God Bless You....#butterqueen #kitchenqueen #southernqueen
Oh, Paula! I was so happy to see you again! It was like a hug. Those pies looked so good. My mom and I never missed your shows... not one! I lost her three years ago, but you brought her so much joy! It was good to see your Aunt Peggy, too!
❤❤❤
Paula, my wife and i love you. Those people did you dirty. We watched you all the time. I just wanted to let you know that people love you. Take care and God bless you.
When food network took your show off the air, I refused to ever watch that channel again, and I still don't. I watch every video I can ever find of yours and of your boys, and I buy all your cookbooks and magazines. I live in Albany, GA, I was in the tenth grade at Albany High School when you were in the 12th. My parents went to River Bend for their honeymoon in 1947. I see your boys Dad every now and then in Albany. I met you and your boys and their Dad by accident one day at Merry Acres Restaurant. I especially remember how sweet and sincere your boys were. I'm so amazed at how a little girl from Albany became so successful. You're one in a million. I wish you and your family continued success.
I know it was pure bs and just to make an example of her and take the heat off something else. It costs her in so many ways financially, spiritually, emotionally etc.. she is a Phoenix rising from the ashes and rebuilding after the path of destruction
Linda Carr I stopped watching Food Network too
@Mia Mercier idk if shes a racist. But who gives a fuck. The world is full of people who hate. Can she cook? thats the question.. hell ya she can.. mmm mmm good!

Thank you for this recipe. I was wondering what to do with my puff pastry and canned blueberries. Problem solved!
She is such a lovely person, so relatable and her voice reminds me of home...and I was born in NewJersey! LOL. No southern belle in sight!
You don’t need gloves . Your in your own home . It takes the fun out of us using our hands 🙏🥰
I've made these before, using refrigerated biscuits, and have made both sweet and savory pies. They are indeed very delicious! I once worked with a lady who had grown up in the hills of Arkansas and she told me about her mother making these using her own biscuit dough recipe, and to fill the little pies she made a mixture of cocoa, sugar, and butter. They were sealed up and then fried in shortening in her old cast iron chicken fryer. She remembered her mother standing at the old wood burning stove making these little pies and how good they tasted fresh from the fryer. There were 13 children in the family and these made a cheap breakfast to feed all those hungry mouths. I loved her stories about her early life and how creative her mom was in feeding all those kids.
These videos are such a treat Paula, and they always brighten my day. You are a treasure!
Rosemary, thanks for that story. The whole country needs to stop and remember those hard times (some people are still living them)and be thankful. ✌🏻❤
My grandpa always said he has two kinds of favorite pies “hot” & “cold” lol, I’d have to agree, there’s no pie I wouldn’t eat.

God bless you, Paula! You're saving our sanity with these sweet little cooking shows. Thank you so much for doing this for us! You're a doll and we love you so much!! As far as ideas: We've been in quarantine for 3 weeks and I am all out of fresh veggies and fruit with no way to go get more at the store. So, I'd like to see quarantine recipes that use canned and/or frozen items. Also, we need comfort food recipes - maybe some casseroles - you pick. We'll love whatever you decide to cook for us. Much love from Atlanta!!

Try using mayo instead of butter...makes the bread much crisper!!!
@@tamiet1069 My mom told me as a young teenage boy to use mayo if you dont have butter. 😉 And i do if i don't have it.

Stay safe Paula. Keep the videos coming. Makes me feel like I’m at home again.
I really enjoy watching your informal you tube "Quarantine Cooking" episodes! Crazy times for sure, but you bring it back home, and keep it simple and real. My husband and I just visited your Family Kitchen in Myrtle Beach the first week of March, and loved everything about it. We were visiting from Canada and I had that on my bucket list! We had been in Savannah in 2008, but never got into The Lady unfortunately. You are right when you say, that "this too shall pass". Stay safe, and thank you for entertaining us during these times when the world is upside down. ~~Mavis~~
Thank you so much for these videos, please keep them coming. There is something so comforting about watching you cook in your kitchen!
You don't need those gloves anyway! All they do is cross contaminate everything, good old washing the hands is way better!!
Stacy Handley Exactly if you’re going to touch everything with your gloves there’s no point but if you’re going into the store or somewhere else where gloves and then take them off as soon as you walk out the door
I completely agree! This is a cooking show. Good grief!
She should wear gloves because her jewelry is on. You shouldn’t cook with rings on.
No where in my post did I say she should wear gloves. She should have washed her hands to show cleanliness within her home and kitchen. Everyone would be very upset if they went to even a small mom and pop restaurant and saw the cook touch their nose and not wash their hands
@@ChocolateDropTony you are so right I agree with you
I am so happy that you are on here showing us how to cook things. I have missed your shows on tv! No matter where I was, I'd stop what I was doing to watch when you came on. These videos are such a blessing at a time like this. Thank you for sharing your home and your recipes with us!

If you don't have an air fryer, put the pies on a rack over a sheet pan (line with foil or parchment for easy cleanup) and bake in the oven. Use the convection setting if you have it. I don't have puff pastry or canned biscuits on hand but I could make a pie crust dough to use.
Looks so Yummy! Love a bunch Paula. Take care and Thank you very much for sharing and many blessings 😊🤗❤

Thank you for doing these Paula. We've always been big fans of yours and hated how you were so unduly and unfairly disgraced a few years back. So glad to see you're still going strong and also making healthier decisions. You look good.
If you are cooking for family and friends you do not need gloves.
Now that is one of the dumbest things ever said in history. Not saying she is sick but when cooking for friends is when you should be the most careful. God forbid she passes something to her friends and or family.
She should wash her hands at the very least
In Australia, if you don't live in the house, you shouldn't be there, so friends are out for now.
I thought the heat from the cooking process would kill the virus. Checked an online medical news site regarding Covid-19 and they say it does, it's easy to kill with heat and you can also kill it with cold, so put food in the refrigerator. Source - Medical Net Hope that helps. Stay safe.
@@denisemarle4141 my point is that she needs to be a little bit more cleaner especially because she has such a huge following. If this was a restaurant and she was the cook and the health inspector saw that, they would fail.
@@ChocolateDropTony Yes, I see your point there, but she is cooking for her immediate family. I had MRSA a rather nasty Staph infection after a 3 month stay in hospital and I had to take similar precautions and I was the cook at home, only used gloves if I cut my hands. I was fine after 3 years on mega antibiotics and no one caught it, but I still take precautions because I HAD it.
I have never seen this lady before, she has a beautiful home that looks very clean but I did notice she put paper towel up to her face and then put it on the counter top..... not a good thing for sure and I agree anyone making cooking videos at this time, no matter who they are, should spread the word on extra cleanliness ...
Paula! Welcome back dear lady. We all missed you! Thrilled that you have these videos to share with us. By now you must know how much we all love you! Please keep those great videos coming, cant wait for the next one. Blessings
I love that I found you on UA-cam. Been a long time. I wish that you would have shown us how to use the can biscuits to make the pies also.
@Ken Do ....I was thinking the very same ! I'm guessing depending on how big the biscuit is ( homestyle etc) you just flatten it & pretty much do it the very same as Miss Paula did. You can use an air fryer, deep fry or bake...
I just took out my puff pastry from the freezer so I can make them in the morning, I have Raspberry pie filling, yummy! Thanks Paula for your great quarantine ideas! My family will love them for breakfast! Best dishes to you!
PAULA ! BUTTER QUEEN. 💖
I used to watch you all the time when I was young. It's so good to see you again. 💕
Paula we've all missed seeing you. Hope you're back to stay.
We hate the gloves. You are in your house in your kitchen....you don't need them. Hell we aren't going to wear them....BTW this is so much fun.
WHY NOT? I agree you can tell she’s clearly not sick not even a sniffle! I can’t believe how some people can be. It’s ridiculous and easy to be mean hiding behind a computer screen. Smh 🤦♀️
I understand the whole being in your house and around your loved ones but still washing yours hands in the kitchen is essential. If this kitchen was a restaurant and you saw the cook do that you would be upset. I'm just saying this is a good opportunity to show good hygiene in the kitchen even if you are home amongst your loved ones
It's not like she's making them to take to market lol take the gloves off. Then again you may want to get a face mask cause we all know how the media likes run with non-since!
@@christinahitson4837 no no no. No one ever said "wear gloves" or at least not me. I just feel that someone who is known for cooking should be extra careful when making a cooking video and posting it for her fans to see especially in these crazy times. I'm a fan of Paula and just think this is the perfect time to show cleanliness. I just feel that you shouldn't do something that you wouldn't accept at a restaurant that's all
@@ChocolateDropTony I get where you are going but we need to be reasonable.... if you have the virus and are at home I doubt you are cooking anyway. We all know if you are cooking for people in a restaurant you are using precautions, we know if you are taking care of the sick that you should use precautions, we all have enough sense of knowing when we should use gloves. But if you are at home and are locked down and have been locked down and haven't been sick there isn't any reason to dick around with gloves in the kitchen. NO ONE DOES. Washing your hands is enough. Paula is in her kitchen with her friends and family and she is very clean. Lets keep it real.
Hi Miss Deen! I’m so happy to see that you have a UA-cam channel! I used to watch your show all the time when I was little with my mom and grandma! Now I can watch you here on UA-cam! I’m so happy! Hope you and your family are safe and doing well! Much love! 💖

Finding this video makes me so happy. YOU, Paula, you make me so happy. Happy and calmed and comforted. I have been a fan of yours since I watched your first BEST DISHES episode. Watching your show then helped me just like watching this video is helping me now.
I'm a small town Tennessee boy who moved to Chicago years ago and have grown more and more homesick for the South with each passing year. Finding your Food Network show was such a blessing to me. Watching you cook, learning from you, and laughing with you on that program was like being home again, watching, learning from and laughing with my mama. You brought my mama's kitchen into my Chicago apartment in every episode and helped me feel less alone up here. I can't thank you enough for that. And tremendous thanks for doing these quarantine cooking videos. They mean so much so to many of us, more of us than you may even know.
Your recipes are the best (every potluck I attend or dinner party I throw is a huge success because it all comes from one of your cookbooks), your personality and humor keep us smiling and laughing, but your greatest gift is your ability to simply be you, to be present and open enough to allow all your kindness, your compassion for others and your generosity to shine. Thank you for, once again, making life better, brighter and happier for this Tennessee boy. Much love to you.
P.S. I'm flying back to Knoxville this week and hopefully, your restaurant in Pigeon Forge will be reopened in some capacity. I need some family style Paula Deen fried chicken, collard greens and gooey butter cakes in a bad way! :-)

I guess I’m a dummy . It seems like every thing I try to cook in the fryer comes out dry even my fries. 🤷♀️❤️🌈
Keep trying
Hello Miss Rose, Do you soak your julienned potatoes in water for about 30 minutes before using the fryer? After I soak them, I pat them with a paper towel. I use a little oil, maybe a tablespoon (or you can do like Miss Paula and use cooking spray) and coat them then put them in the fryer for about 20 to 25 minutes, according to your fryer. I think the key is using cooking spray or a little oil to keep your food from drying in the fryer.
Joey Robison I’m gonna try that. Thank you 🙋♀️
@@joeyrobison6629 Thank you! I love kitchen appliances, but I am getting close to admitting defeat with the airfryer lol I got it because I hate the smell of cooking oil in the house. It takes forever to get the smell out of the curtains, furniture, carpets. I'll try this tonight.

Back in 1957 I moved to Texas with my parents and we went to a little restaurant in our neighborhood. They sold fried pies for dessert. While we ate our meal we tried to figure out how they would put a slice of pie into the deep fryer without it breaking all apart. So naturally we had to try them...apple ones...when the man came out with them Mom says oh they are turnovers...We had a big laugh over that. Also told the man we were from Canada and couldn't figure out how he was going to fry slices of pie. He got a big laugh too and didn't charge us for our very first Texas fried pies. Glad to see you back Paula. Have a Blessed day.
