- This was one of the first songs I learned on this lever harp and it still remains one of my favorites. The title is a little strange sounding, as it doesn’t follow grammar rules, but the sound of the song is amazing.
Chapeau !!!! 👏👏👏
Beautiful!! I'm so very proud of you!!
The grammar is subtle, not incorrect. Super performance.
VERY SWEET WHAT A GREAT TALENT
The harp, that once through Tara's halls, the soul of music, shed. Now hangs as mute on Tara's walls, as if that soul were fled. So sleeps the pride of former days, so glories thrill is o'er. And hearts that once beat high for praise, now feel that pulse, no more. No more to chiefs and ladies bright, the harp of Tara, swells. The chord, alone, that breaks at night, it's tale of ruin, tells. Thus, freedom now so seldom wakes, the only throb she gives, is when some heart, indignant, breaks, to show that still she lives.
The text is so sad.
What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful song by one of the masters of Irish music. Thomas Moore used ancient irish melodies like this to highlight the plight of the Irish people in the face of English oppression. He has a special place in the hearts of the people of Ireland. 😁 😁
Hi Trinity, is there any chance that you have a direct contact? I'd love to use this piece of music for a video I'm making.
Sure thing! You can find my information at trinstone.com
Wonderful, but so sad - I mean the lyrics.
