+apex128 I'd agree. He struck me as the type that enjoys owning, and building, a car more than he does driving it. A good driver can recognize another good driver. A bad driver doesn't know what good is.
This kind of look looks best on the S2000. Hands down. They come almost perfect as they are. Some nice rims, coilovers, and performance upgrades is all it needs to be absolutely perfect.
Driving a fast car fast is when you drive your new Hellcat ($100k) off the dealer lot and you floor it and end up in a ditch 5 min later. My 175 HP Honda doesnt have that risk and i do 0-60 in 6.5. Not bad for a $5k car.
Just watched the One Take, awesome job dude. You were literally 5 minutes away from my house lol. Another great video here as usual glad to see your channel is getting the attention it deserves.
"i enjoyed it in stock for for about 8 months". i drove mine 100% stock for about 5 - 6 years before i did anything lol. i REALLY enjoyed what honda has built :]
I'm guessing you are running a 4.2" pulley @ 15psi?? What size injectors are you running? What other significant mods did you make? And how did you get it to pass smog? I ask because my AP1 has the same CT-E SC with the Novi 1200 running on the stock 4.8" pulley @6psi making ~281whp 173wtrq. My future goal is to get above 400whp, but i am a little hesitant to move forward due to Cali smog. Nevertheless, your AP2 is nice!
I live up in Washington State. I own an AP1 S2000, in the fall I will be turbocharging it. Currently I have a Supercharged EM2 Civic with a K20 swap. It's a load of fun, but stiff motor mounts do take away from the ride. I plan to get some softer bushings in the future but, I want to re-do the exhuast system prior to that. As stated though if you up in my neck of the woods give a holler.
Anyone else notice that the license plate is blocked in some areas but not in others? What was the point of that when you can still see the plate in other parts of this video? Other than that...the video was interesting to watch.
Lol did he say "Don't let it go too high" at like 7:05 ish time? LOL, that's what an S2000 is made to be driven like....I really hope he didn't say that lol.
...or in the rain, LOL. Even though I've driven a lot of powerful cars and am 43, I don't think I have quite the discipline to boost my s2k that far while minding enough restraint for goosing it in the wrong situation (such as....party time in L.A..... Mulholland 2AM, heh). I've got a near-stock (pads&tire upgrades only) AP1 '03 sazuka blue w/80K here, btw.... loooove it!!! I'm mulling over some bolt-ons: intake+exhuast w/ SC to get another 50 or so hp, probably a Roots as they're better for lower-end torque (or so I've gathered). Car is fine to me above 5k rpm, just below could use some help. Not sure on how my AP1 likes ECU changes, though - VTEC @ 5200 or so rpm would be admittedly pretty sweet. Lurking s2ki forums now and then. Anyway, thanks for all the viddys! ...and another 'hells yeah' vote for Scott getting an NSX and FI-ing that mofo ;-)
I feel this guy, I've never had a car in good enough condition or enough money to do a project, but I've always enjoyed buying super cheap used cars that "need some TLC," but after the fun of fixing them up I realize they're a complete bore to drive and end up moving on to something else! LOL
@@MiegmaishMenas There is a big difference in gearing between the S2000 and 911, so much so that the S2000 maxes out 2nd gear at 56mph while the 911 is 79mph. You have to drive the 911 much faster to enjoy it at redline compared to the S2000.
Stock S2K brakes with >300 rwhp. How many sets of rotors has he gone through so far? I used to cook a set every race weekend running a bone stock AP1 (except for the AP2 valves) before finally upgrading.
You ever find one? I know this was 6 months ago. I notice the low mile ones are kinda in a bubble right now. Not sure if they'll continue to go up or stay where they're at for awhile. I recently paid 20k for a 16k mile 04 ap2. I went AP2 because it felt more refined and I liked the gear ratios more than the ap1 making it feel quicker on the street.
I love that there is a UA-cam out there running a stock S2000 CR faster than these boosted S2000’s on the track haha. The S2000 doesn’t need more power. It needs more driver.
Nice review! I'm still on the outs of wanting to boost my car...not sure of how durable these engines can be under boost. Sounds like a fun car to drive!
Baron, if I were you I'd keep your car NA. Boost is definitely fun but there's something about the purity of a nicely setup NA S2000 that is unbeatable.
A lot of suspension and tire differences. The AP1 is more snappy and tail happy. The AP2 is a bit more balanced. The ap1 is a 2 liter that revs to 9000 RPM's where the AP2 is a 2.2 liter that revs to 8000 RPMs. They make the same hp but the AP2 has a bit more power down low. The AP2 has some minor interior changes to the ap1 depending on the year you get. The AP2 has shorter gear ratios and carbon syncros. Although, I recently heard that the ap1 got the carbon syncros in 02. Not 100% sure on that tho.
Rev limiter raised to 8400rpm.. I thought these things were supposed to rev to 10,000rpm or near it depending on which engine you got? Is this an American crap version of a cool motor like the e36 m3? You should have showed us the kit!
The 2.0 liter (F20C) from the AP1 and non-North-American market AP2 is set to 9k from the factory, the 2.2 liter (F22C) from the North American AP2 is 8200. Scott: how did you (or your tuner) decide that 8400 is safe?
so the ap1 flywheel is lighter? no wonder why the ap2 has more torque despite the .2... lighter flywheel and clutch work... pshhhhh... lighter flywheel is good for high rpm only... for drifting or street driving a light flywheel is a no no.
"[you] don't wanna go in too hot"- 7:02 😂
"My 135i broke loose at 2k rpm in 4th gear." This guy seems kind of like a noob driver. He even said he prefers working on cars over driving.
+apex128 I'd agree. He struck me as the type that enjoys owning, and building, a car more than he does driving it. A good driver can recognize another good driver. A bad driver doesn't know what good is.

Came from the smoking tire, great channel dude subbed & shared :-)
Thanks Fasel!
Same!
Same here !
Everyone always says driving a slow car fast is better than driving a fast car slow. Well what about driving a fast car fast?
Wade Richmire you go to jail..
Yeah you can do that...on track. Not really possible on public roads.
Driving a fast car fast is when you drive your new Hellcat ($100k) off the dealer lot and you floor it and end up in a ditch 5 min later. My 175 HP Honda doesnt have that risk and i do 0-60 in 6.5. Not bad for a $5k car.
Great review! As always love how u always talk about the driving dynamics in all your vids really gives an in depth feeling of how the car feels!
Thanks!
came from tst! great review, one of the best sounding s2000s I've heard !
Thanks! And yep, awesome sounding for a single exit exhaust.
Just watched the One Take, awesome job dude. You were literally 5 minutes away from my house lol. Another great video here as usual glad to see your channel is getting the attention it deserves.
Thanks, it's been really great seeing my active subscribers back me up in the comments of the One Take! I appreciate the support!
"i enjoyed it in stock for for about 8 months".
i drove mine 100% stock for about 5 - 6 years before i did anything lol. i REALLY enjoyed what honda has built :]
Great Review man! That thing sound wicked in the high RPM's.
I like those wheels Scott! :D
Mr. S2k!
haha thanks bud
Is Zygrene gonna drive yours?
Hm. Fancy seeing you here.
Came here after seeing you on TST. You gained a sub, awesome channel man!!!
Nice review man! love S2000's
6:00 - 7:00 is pure terror on the owners face. He can't even keep his mouth shut! LOL.
love your s2000 videos
Spotted your NSX on one take!
Woo, hope you like the videos!
+Zygrene actually ran into ur channel a month a go when u did the Evo M3 comparison vid but I'm back again
Mike Arredondo Welcome back :)
Also came here from Matts channel, subbed :)
I also came from The Smoking Tire and I'm also based out of the Bay Area! San Francisco to be exact. Keep up the good content!
Thanks!
I want that steering wheel.
Another great review, would love to see that thing in the wild.
I think I actually saw you crack a smile there, buddy. ;)
Couldn't help myself. 400 rainbow farting unicorns = can't keep a straight face.
Knew this was filmed near Milpitas! Good Review!
saw your NSX on OneTake ...came here and subscribe : )

Wow that is a special s2k, great channel too.
wow Ive been watching you for such a long time and Im just now checking your sub count. Completely underrated. I thought you had like 200k subs
That's the dream. I'm trying to keep putting out more/better content to get noticed. Thanks for your support!
Great video. Beautiful car Scott!
What's wrong with being able to break traction at 2000 rpm in fourth?
Hey man, here from the smoking tire just subd love the NSX !
Thank you!
Great video again!

If I find myself in Washington at some point, expect a message. Supercharged K20 EM2 sounds like a load of fun!
Hell yeah dude you handled that car! I think it might be time to subscribe.;)
i love s2000s stock or supercharged. =)
MetalsForBrunch agreed!
Had the same CE28s on my ITR. Exceptional wheels.
Makes me want to get an S2000! And then hopefully an Nsx just like you in the end!
In the end, you need both!
Homeboy is so humble. He is big AF tho
Nice car !! Mines is also supercharged, I put down 352whp. With my set up and I'm going with a bigger blower
you probably won’t reply but what was your psi?
Only just heard of you but subbed straight away. Scott looked like he was shitting himself when you put your foot down xD
Haha I guess he underestimated his own car. Only had the supercharger installed for a week prior to filming this.
Owner looked scared. lol
I was thinking the same !
Lol he said " don't wanna go in too hot"
he said it at the time i was reading your comment LMAO
So anxious. I lol'd.
Came from Smoking Tire and subscribed :D Cool Content :)
Anyone else notice that the license plate is blocked in some areas but not in others? What was the point of that when you can still see the plate in other parts of this video? Other than that...the video was interesting to watch.
Interesting note . Look at the flex of the door from the bodywork at around 3mins 18 it's not a problem but it's just fascinating to see
Lol did he say "Don't let it go too high" at like 7:05 ish time? LOL, that's what an S2000 is made to be driven like....I really hope he didn't say that lol.
Get rid of all turbo chargers and replace them with superchargers and make cars actually fun to drive. This car is a beast now
that much power with no wing ...you're brave.
The power builds progressively as the revs climb, so the rear tires don't get overpowered. Might feel different on a track.
...or in the rain, LOL. Even though I've driven a lot of powerful cars and am 43, I don't think I have quite the discipline to boost my s2k that far while minding enough restraint for goosing it in the wrong situation (such as....party time in L.A..... Mulholland 2AM, heh).

Which hondata computer did you add that was CARB legal. I'm looking for a bump in power too, I just want to keep mine street legal.
Found you after watching your NSX on One Take. Let me know if you ever want to review my bone stock Lotus Elise. I'm in NorCal too.
That would be awesome. Send me a quick email at fentonsun@gmail.com.
Hey Fenton, just subbed and I'm loving the content! What video editing software do you use?
Thanks Barath! I use Sony Vegas Pro
good video but the blurry fade on the intro pictures is super annoying
why is he picking cars he can't fit in comfortably?
Its his kink gattem
What exhaust is that? Sounds good
I feel this guy, I've never had a car in good enough condition or enough money to do a project, but I've always enjoyed buying super cheap used cars that "need some TLC," but after the fun of fixing them up I realize they're a complete bore to drive and end up moving on to something else! LOL
I want to swap this into one of my CRX's.
Does the saying "it's more fun to drive a slow car fast" still make sense for a 400hp S2K?
Nope, now it's just driving a fast car fast. But it still retains the great handling.
Zygrene I know. But it was said as an explanation of why he went from a 997 to a S2K. i.e. the "than fast car slow" part.:)

where can i find a good priced honda s2000? what should I get what year? ap1 or ap2? what to look out for in a honda s2000?
Edris A this, I'm trying to buy one

192lalo thanks for the reply I'm looking for one 04 to 05 most go for 18 to 20k
S2K gang.. i have a white ap2
The owner looks so nervous 😂
The owner should let you drive alone, probably another 20hp gain.....
Size of the steering wheel? Thanx!
nice video u got ur self another subscriber
+acura ricer Thanks! And with a very fitting name
Zygrene ur welcome
I love that there is a UA-cam out there running a stock S2000 CR faster than these boosted S2000’s on the track haha. The S2000 doesn’t need more power. It needs more driver.
What exhaust setup?
Novi 1000/1200 and what pulley size are you running?
Novi 1200 with 4.2"
Do you have a test pipe?

Baron, if I were you I'd keep your car NA. Boost is definitely fun but there's something about the purity of a nicely setup NA S2000 that is unbeatable.
was the s200 tuned by dardan?
What's the offset/size of the Volks?
what road is this?
Why do people seem to wait until the limiter to shift as in the first scenes of it being driven?
+Kevin Hale the owner just missed a shift on that particular drive by but we didn't refilm it
It revs so quickly in 1st. Gear you have to speed shift or hit the rev limiter
Because its a honda motor. And all the power is made near the redline, especially true when supercharged
Guy on the left looks scared shitless LMFAO
^this 😅
+ayowser01 around 8:50 LMFAO
I would be too if I was riding shotgun in a 400hp 2800lb gokart!
+Zygrene I'm a control freak myself; so unless I trust the person driving, I'm shitting bricks too 😀
no engine shot?
I understand some weight savings, as for removing the airbag? No thanks.
Considering the owner's size, I'm surprised he chose the S2K. Can't be that comfortable for him.
Why would you move from a 997 Carrera s to an s2000 that doesn't even fit you bro?
would u think a k20/24 swap S be good?
Id like to know this as well tbh, you can get a deadly N/A build from a k20/k24
whats the diffrence between the ap1 and ap2

great Downshifts
what size helmet do you wear?
XXL, but it barely fits me. Probably need 3XL.
Tuned at RRE?
what area did you shoot this?
In the hills east of San Jose
Haha The owner looks nervous
What roads is he driving on?
Felter/Sierra in San Jose
Thanks for letting me know man! I'm gonna take a spin up there when I get back to San Jose!
awesome sound
Spinning in 4th at 2k? Holy fuck balls
I've always wanted this Supercharger, especially since it's CARB certified, but $6,000... :/
Love the S2000!
what's that exhaust!?!?!?!?
maximuslt90 ???
Wow - surprised you are running the OEM clutch delay and flywheel. BTW no new S2000. LOL.
He should hit up the smoking tire. Matt just said he would review another S2000 if it had forced induction and lots of power.
Great suggestion! Matt would have a blast driving this thing.
BlackTrax dyno!! :)
you should make a 1jz ae86
Sold the bmw 135i because it made 440 whp and that was too scary, lmao!
Damn I need a supercharger
that camera blurring is so annoying

Tuner decided 8400 was safe as its recommended the AP2 doesn't rev over 8500-8600 or so before valvetrain needs help.
+ssr132 makes me love my ap1 that much more....ive had three of them.

The suspension is way too stiff in that car.
You should run a JDM Hi-Flow CAT or a testpipe to see great results
Come from The smoking tire.
nice
my Audi spins all 4 tires whenever I blip the throttle IN ANY GEAR!....so na!
