  • What are the best Livescope Settings? This is a comprehensive video starting with how I use my jig and weight to easily find where I am in relation to the fish when using livescope, then getting into the basic settings of Livescope and show what works best for me. Many have said that my videos are really clear and this will show you what settings I am using. It is a long video but I cover just about everything needed to get started and be a successful fisherman using Livescope.

    There apparently is a new update that has new colors in it. I will update in a few weeks and will post a video on that. I told someone (can't remember who right now) that I had the most current update but apparently after looking at the web today I am wrong. There are new colors added so I will get that out in a few weeks.

      Oh brother, you will have a blast with it. Make sure to do the update as soon as you get it. Not being familiar with the settings I would hate for you to get them set the way you want, then update and it goes back to factory settings. One thing to remember is NEVER turn it on until you get the transducer in the water and do not take it out of the water until the graph is turned off. It will cause you issues. Thanks for watching.

      Thanks. I am running the current software now. The portion of the video that showed the settings was shot before the update. I went for a year and a half using the old software that came with it. I had not issues so I decided that I do not need to update. I watched a few things and both said that you should update as they fix little things like power issues etc. I finally broke down and did it and I honestly still have no trouble. I did have to go back and reset everything because it moved it back to factory settings but other than that it works fine. Thanks for watching and commenting brother. I appreciate it.

    What length and model rod are you using?Do you find one rod is more effective than spider rigging when using Livescope? Thanks!

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  Рік тому +1

      Thank you for the message. I am using the ACC Crappie Stix rod. The length depends on what I am doing but vertical fishing I am pretty standard with the 12 ft. Although I have not done any spider rigging, and that is because we do not have anywhere to do that without getting hung up in a tree, I do think that when using livescope you are better off with one rod as you can target fish. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Any tips for getting rid of the ghost tree? Also, can you show your transducer mount set up? I have mine on the starboard side a couple feet back from the bow, but I’d like to have it up front like yours. Great video! Thank you!!!

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  3 роки тому +1

      Here is a link to the transducer mount that I was using at that time. ua-cam.com/video/VcFCQieM_PM/v-deo.html I have since switched to the Fishing Specialties mount and it is further back on the left side of me. As far as ghost tree I honestly do not know as I have never had that, even with 2 units. The newest update does have a ghost tree setting in it that you can turn to high, med and low. I have not used it but I think that it is reversed from what I was told, meaning High gives you more info on the screen and low cuts out more stuff. I would play with that. If you have not updated I would recommend doing that just for that feature if nothing else! Thanks for watching and sorry it took a while to get back to you!

      How do you not have any dead spots/rays on the screen from transducer? Do you run latest software?

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  3 роки тому

      @@joshward9835 Good question. I am running the latest software but as of two weeks ago. I have never had issues with ghost trees etc. If you do have a dead spot, especially close to your transducer I would check to see what the setting is for TVG. I keep mine off, but if you watch the portion of video on here when I talk about the settings you will see how the different TVG settings will create a dead spot and it gets bigger the higher you go. Other than that I simply work with my gain, my color gain and brighten it up as needed. I still get rays, but I can see through them.

    I am new to livescope. I can see my brush pile, but can't see my jig. Move scope to right or left and can see my jig but not much of the brush pile. What do I need to do to see both?

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  7 місяців тому

      One of several things is probably happening. First off, if your transducer is on a pole, trolling motor or pole, it is off to one side. Let's say it is on a pole for explanation. If you point your handle where you can see your brush pile, and assuming the transducer is off the right side of the pole, you will need to throw out slightly to the right, if it is on the left side, slightly to the left. The transducer shoots a 20 degree beam forward, so it is not like the one on the bottom of the boat. It does not get bigger as it goes out, just goes out 20 degrees. So if you point your handle to the brush pile and the transducer is on the right, your jig will be out of the picture. I know mine is on the right side of the pole so I just throw out slightly to the right and it works every time. The other thing that might be going on is if you have the original mount that came with the livescope it has a 6-8 degree angle built in. I can't remember off hand which one, but 6-8 degrees. I would order a zero degree mount if you do not have one already. With the angle on the original you might see the line at the top of the water, but not your jig especially in deep water. hope that helps you a little. I would look up the zero degree mount and there should be an explanation of what it does to help a little. Thanks for the question and hope i answered it for you.

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  2 роки тому

      So sorry for the late response, but your message was in spam. Anyway, yes, play with the settings. The main thing you will need to play with are Gain, Color Gain, and noise and possibly the ghost tree. I leave that on auto now. Depending on the clarity of your water, mine is dirty, so I leave the noise on High and then start with a higher Color gain, and lower gain and go from there.

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  3 роки тому

      I have never tried, but I would imagine no. The reason I say that it I basically can see a flat surface and if there is a big dip, I can tell, but if there are fish on the bottom it is hard to distinguish. I do not think beds would show really well. I think you would see fish on the bottom and if you know what you are looking for you would see it, but it takes a while to learn what the different fish look like.

    Great video, why do you keep your gain high?

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  3 роки тому +1

      I keep the color gain high then alter the actual gain button. I keep it higher than normal for youtube as when it is dark you all can not see everything that I see. It also helps when your jig or a fish is just out of the cone, you will see a faint image where if the gain were lower I would not see that. Just something I do, but you can set it with whatever works best for you. When I am fishing muddy water I turn the gain down because it picks up every bit of trash. So basically the water depth and clarity are the things that dictate what level I put my gain to. Hope that makes sense! If not, let me know.
