It could be that, but I know, from personal experience, that sitting in the back and having the whole situation in your view is nice :) I noticed those circular acrylic sound shields in front of the cymbals. It is a nice alternative to the complete drum wall which you can see many times in different bands live shows. I never expected Tim to be such a great drummer, but I recall from some interview that he mentioned Jeff Porcaro as one of the best drummers. I love Jeff's drumming as well. Tim's fills on Roland Multipad are one thing, but he really plays the drums incredibly well.
I found out about this band by the introduction to the movie Terrifier 2 with their song "Equaliser (not alone)". Looked up the rest of their music on Spotify and completely fell in love. Now I'm obsessed with this band and the way Tyler Lyle reminiscences in his lyrics..cause I do the same exact thing. Will be seeing them at the White Oak Music Hall in September.
Yeah you know how it is, live everyone wants to mix it up. I still dont get why they dont just make a full band instead of being a duet with 3 supporting members that are always playing with them. Is it a creative control or a $ thing?
1:20 was easily one of the best sounds i’ve ever heard. when they mashed the 3 guitars and sax i almost cried. such a slept on music group.
An orgasm for the ears.
Tim playing full drum set is the best thing that ever happened to The Midnight's live shows! Now it feels really LIVE. Thanks for the video!
I totally agree. I think it would be cool to have his kit up front, but I am sure that is not ideal for the acoustics.

What song turned you onto The Midnight?
America 2
@@tommyo1444 Well luckily you got that one live too! I can't decide what mine was, all I know is that Comeback Kid is one of the greatest.
Los Angeles, that song is so beautiful and with the Naani video it's *absolutely* beautiful!

Not sure how I feel about the actual drum set 😐
