Bro people are talking about the feared fight but that uber uber elder fight was INSANE to watch man like there's so many things that can just 1shot him and Ben is perfectly positioning to dodge shit and place things or face shaper in a certain way, and some shit is so close lol. Yeah spell block helped but goddamn that was a treat to watch
Tbh only shaper/elder slam and huge flameblast can 1shot him. He can tank a single flameblast, stormcall, or elder nova. Most of the dmg Ben took came from elder tentacles and phys degen puddle. Still, sick moves from Ben

So if he takes a hit that barely doesn't kill him (eg ~90% of his hp) he needs to make sure he actually has the hp to tank it (not be in/near degen) + make sure he doesn't die instantly to degen afterwards. This is quite difficult :D

A moment back, before this gauntlet. Zizarans twitch-chat was having a debate that Ben is just THIS good because he practise and is very dedicated to what his doing. Basically most of us could challenge Ben, if we just put in the same time and dedication that he does. To a point, yeah I agree, its true, but its more to it... My saying however was that regardless of how much time and effort you put in, 99.99% of the people will never be even CLOSE as good as Ben is. Zizaran highly disagreed with me, and ofc alot of yes-sayers in Zizarans chat took his side. Im still comfortable that im right, this gauntlet shows you that beeing born with "gaming genetics". (And yes ofc there is such a thing in all sports and activities, anyone cannot be a Wayne Gretzy, or a Ronaldo, computer games are no different). This in combinatio of putting in time and effort and beeing dedicated to what youre doing, creates the ultimate combination. Seeing how few misstakes this guy makes over a full week of playing and then just execute everything to basically perfection is just crazy to a life-time-slightly-above-medioker gamer as myself... Well done and well deserved.

I actually started playing hc ssf cause of the gauntlet and it's amazing how many things there are to learned after 2k h in sc. And there are many hc ssf guilds willing to help out. The community is amazing. So maybe give it a try.

The gauntlet was brutal to me for the campaign because I’m so used to dying and being like ok I barely learned let’s go again or not fixing the problem and just adding more dps. I started an hcssf character yesterday and the game feels night and day easier post gauntlet. Using this as the time to actually learn and progress. It’s weird in this game that when you start going slow, your ability seems to speed up.

Uber elder has to be one of the best arpg fights of all time. Like 5 years later and GGG has yet to make a better fight. The pacing of the fight is insane and it always comes down to the entire arena flooded with shit and 1 portal left, every time. I love the desperate attempt to kill shaper ASAP after his last immune phase, ignoring all ground degens and tanking stuff that probably shouldn't be tanked
Out of all the ubers I still think the ubershaper was the sketchiest for me to watch. Still you're a gigachad with balls big enough to make exarch blush.

This fight is just a DPS check. Every Uber can be done with moderate damage and skill but Uber Uber arena is deadly too fast so u just need to phase them

While not their personalities, but ben gives me Reckful vibes when I watch him play. Reckful always played top tier in whatever game he went hard at, whether it be wow, typeracer, hearthstone etc, he was amazing. I like so many others, I'm in awe watching Ben play PoE, especially during gauntlet week. I've got a few thousand hours into the game and I'll never be able to wrap my brain around half the tech he figures out, let alone transitions that into the fights. Congrats, amazing play as usual.
At this point Gauntlets are just a game mode for Ben to have fun in while others work their asses off tryinf to surpass him and fail, repeatedly, indefinitely.

Dropping damage and hp to account for the more damage taken and less damage taken by monsters. His test char was generally running with 3 to 4k hp and 400k poison dps his gauntlet char had 6k+ hp and 1.1m poison dps. This was to account for the upwards of 80% inc dmg and 50% less damage taken by mobs.
Jung's run was more exciting, unfortunate how the transfig gems hit him. Had they been both free to play dd and bt they would have probably competed evenly and earlier. Same with exile...
