I saw Hank 3 years ago. My cousin and his wife had mentioned wanting to see him and I paid up for 4 tickets. No nonsense top 40 stuff. All rocking. I don't know if it was worth the $1000 plus I spent, but Hank only does 25 shows a year and the bottle is running dry. Great show, at any price. He sat down and played some Jerry Lee Lewis on the piano. Saw him at his peak in the mid 80's. Great show, but he was playing the stuff you hear on the radio. Great music isn't for mass consumption.
Unfortunately we won't see artist like Hank , Merle, and Cash any more. These men were MEN, that did it their way. Now we have a bunch of Candy Asses that hold guitars. Damn Shame is what it is. I thank the Lord for for putting this great music in my lifetime.

It amazes me how he can sing anything anywhere anytime with any instrument and sound perfectly every time. I guess that's why we call him Rockin Randall Hank Williams jr. Waylon, along with Johnny Cash, and Toy Caldwell were the ones there for him after his accident on Ajax Peak so they're special to him.
Waylon was the reason a lot of us young people in the 70s went country but you can't think of Waylon without thinking of Willie.
