My first build I was a teenager with no tools, and I built a 3 way modular setup for two players. Used padhacked dreamcast controllers to play Dreamcast An iPAC for PC And Two MC Cthulu boards for additional multi console such as my Wii These were connected to a DB25 physical switch, and the MC card were hooked to a RJ45 output to form any console cable. Nobody taught me anything, just learned myself like I did everything. When I went back to see what I did over 20 years ago it amazes even adult me lol. So the reason I found this video, is I recently decided to build a new portable arcade stick and I want to put both the brooks ultimate board and brooks wireless board in at the same time in tandem to make the ultimate portable all in one any console joystick and cant seem to find any videos of anyone doing it, but this came up in the search.
I have this exact ee plus controller which seems to have the minipac.. my questions are.. if I want to add the rgb ultraleaf buttons to all the action buttons could I just install them and redo the 2 wire button wiring to the ipac same as it was stock.. then add the additinal wires for pac led 64 to just handle the rgb? Also does the pac led board need to connect to the minipac or does it just power itself through USB and its good? Thanks man.. this video is really gonna help me with the rgb mods.. love your channel!! P.S. im ordering the pac led 64 and the rgb leaf buttons from ultimarc.. do i need any other wires or connectors to hook up to minipac/pacled 64 as u have done?
PAC LED power comes from a separate brick attached to the PACLED. No other wires needed if you get the gold leafs they have pretty long leads included tho I do recall having to lengthen 1-2 of them...
Hey adam, do you have a tutorial video on how to create shift and hotkeys for and IPAC? I'm just curious if you have for example, volume down shifted as also your admin start button, does that mean if you're in your hyperspin wheel and you want to turn it down, would you then accidentally start the game up at the same time? Sorry if not making sense. I love the idea of just having my menu and start admin keys set as also Volume up and down, but not sure exactly how to do that. Thanks
WIth the latest 1.55 firmware and xinput I'd love to be able to plug my mini-pac-based arcade panel to the original xbox (first version), but it seems it cannot bo done even in mode-1 (keyboard mode). 😪
Hey Adam.. I have recently noticed flickering on the rgb joysticks with the color blue and also issues with certain colors not possible on the ultra rgb buttons depending on the colors of buttons around them.. like if my p1 buttons are blue it won't allow a true white on the trackball.. the pacled64 barrel connector is going to a 5v external ac adapter so is that how u were powering your extension? Did u notice any flickering or color issues like the 5v wasn't sufficient? I have the exact controller and mods for rgb u had done but your colors and brightness seem true? Are u pacled to molex? Any help is very much appreciated
I’d be surprised if it was a voltage problem, different LEDs produce different color temperatures of white because they do so by applying max brightness to all 3 red/green/blue elements. Sometimes like in trackballs that’s three separate LEDs or in buttons it’s one integral LED with the RGB elements. For house fixture and industrial applications where white color temperature really matters they used 4 channel RGBW LEDs so they can control the white color temperature better but arcade controllers are all 3 channel. Anyways! The best you can do is try and match your source LEDs and make sure they are getting true 5 volts. Use a multimeter to confirm. My panel may look perfect on camera but I guarantee you if you saw it in person you would see the same imperfections.
I am a new subscriber to the channel, great content. I just have a question about my ground wire. What should I do when I have random buttons that won’t work. I have a four player control panel running an iPAC 4. I’m just stuck.
Only way to fix it is put in some work. Do what I did in the video, get your multimeter in continuity mode and trace every ground wire on the daisy chain. It sucks, it’s happened to me too. I give the ends a little tug as I check each one, usually it’s a broken wire at the crimp connector. Good luck!
Hello THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH 4 this video, I was thinking about going to brook but after this video I don't have to (I think) I have only one small problem, I updated my minipac from version 1.39, probably to 1.53, but for me something does not work, switching from keyboard to gamepad hmm, do you have any idea how to fix it, i am also surprised that in your video in the ipac program under the firmware number is written gamepad enable and I have what in the picture maybe there is a problem I did, I downloaded what you said in the video and then nothing hmm ?? imgur.com/a/OJE7hOX
Thanks for the screenshot that helps a lot! It looks like you don’t have a ‘shift’ button assigned. Assign shift to player 1 START and you can follow along just like I do in the video. Also later tonight I will be uploading my Winpac software and firmware flashing guide for more helpful tips!
@@ArcadeAdam Omg now works such a small detail and how much it changes: P Unfortunately, another problem appeared in the so-called Xinput mode 1 pad left is right and right is left rest ok in 2 pad everything ok only the home button is on button 6 P2 in the arcade panel (Immediately I say that changing the cables strangely does not help the same LoL), you have already played with Mode 5 (Xinput User Set) profiles It is also strange that in a non-xinput mode the WinIPAC V2 program starts very quickly and in the xinput mode it starts even 1.2 min and sometimes hmm (fresh sytem) Super waiting for the video ;)

That is a great idea for a video, and yeah I make all my admin buttons server double duty for volume, taskmanager macro, pause/hyperpause, etc.

I noticed you have a switch to switch from. Your 8way joystick to the 4 way joystick. What did you need in order to do this configuration?

Trying to decide between getting an ipac 4 or 2 ipac 2 for a 4 player setup...what would you recommend?

Did anyone confirm whether the latest ipac4 ver. 155c firmware allows 4 player xinput mode switching, for those fun 4 player PC games? Thanks
I just checked the ultimarc site and it still references only 2 gamepads in dinput or xinput mode.
