  • As a racer, I'm always looking for new challenges. Oval racing in iRacing is definitely uncharted territory for me, with a unique set of skills. Join me as I push my limits, learn from my mistakes, and hopefully discover a new appreciation for this style of racing.

Nice video. You should try the Legends cars at a short oval like Langley speedway or Charlotte Legends road course. They are a lot of fun. Keep up the good work. Btw Langley Speedway is 15 minutes from me and ViR is about 3.5 hours. So they have a special place in my heart lol.

Yeah I have driven them there. I really like that iRacing has these smaller ovals in there. I done a race at Oxford Plains the other day. It is literally a constant left turn. Have you ever visited the track on race days etc?

It's not the graphics or physics of ams2 or rf2, but it's the most solid online system in simracing. Next month I'll try iracing From rookie to seeing how the players behave 😂. Good video, see you on the track

Thank you. Yeah it is actually good fun and you can see that most people at least try to be clean. I think in Rookies most wrecks seem to happen through loss of control and not through being dirty. So far I am enjoying it more than I thought I would, this time around. And yeah the online ranking system certainly adds a tonne of value and knowing that it is managed with a protest system is very appealing. It almost feels like I am in a real life virtual motorsport career against other humans. It's cool.

I'm not a huge oval guy, but I'm pretty sure you're just turning in a bit too hard with too much speed. When you're hitting close to the line, it's at such an angle that it's just absolutely nuking the right front on the banking. It'll hook up like a son of a bitch for a while, but I'd try gliding it in a bit more gently, almost at a wider arc, even if it costs you lap time at first.

Yeah I think you are right, I am over driving on entry and destroying the tyre. I have been trying to keep it much slower on the way in and get it straighter on the way out too. The changes are tiny, but it seems to be making a difference. Your advice helped here.
