DIY MIG Welding Carriage from Scrap

  • A guide to constructing a welding carriage from basic materials and scrap laying around the shop. Difficulty only 5 out of 10 cups of tea however some machinery required. Could use off the shelf parts but this would increase costs. Aim of the project is to keep the costs to a minimum. Hope you enjoy!

    From small acorns mighty oaks grow . In a small production run that could save you labour time Also fitted with gas torch head ,cutting plate We had similar in that we had a small tractor motor on a track We used it for cutting and flux cored wired welding on tank plates set to weld joint of cylinders This give you mobility for sitework as well The simpler the better

      Thanks for the support! It was definitely made with the premise that should I ever own a plasma, it could be coupled to this also

      Thanks, seem them. I’m wanting a 40 amp set ideally so I’ll also need a large compressor with space being the limiting factor… one day maybe!
