Thank you, Esme! Yes, one thing I do know is books! Dealing in rare and used books is how I started out over 40 years ago. I'm glad you found the video helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
We're glad you found this info helpful, William! We get it why a lot of people use the scanning, but it's not for us. Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment! We very much appreciate it!😊
Hello. I've been selling books/media on Amazon FBA for nine years, but am highly thinking of transitioning over to eBay; never sold anything on eBay before. Between the horrible FBA fees, ever-increasing restrictions, and the ton of time you often have to wait for your inventory to even be available for sale, I'm getting tired of the Amazon game. I want to start eBay with some books because it's the only category I'm really familiar with, but also to expand to a few other categories as time goes by. I love these kinds of books that you're showing. I can tell you that I know there's several of them I'd still be restricted from selling on Amazon even though I've been at it for nine years and have a 100% feedback rating. I admit though that eBay is very intimidating, as I've never had to deal with any kind of shipping choices, customer interaction, etc., as FBA has always handled all that stuff on their end. And so, I want to start but don't want to make any disastrous eBay mistakes in the process.
Hi, thanks so much for that in-depth insight into FBA. We decided not to go that route, and we've been selling on eBay for 25 years now, so for us it's not intimidating at all. I would say, just start slow and make sure you have adequate packing materials for the items you're offering (chasing the right box can be time consuming!). But you can order book boxes in bulk. I generally have 2-3 different sizes, plus whatever padding material I can scrounge (plastic bags, bubble wrap etc.). I also buy packing peanuts; they're relatively expensive but very convenient. We have what we call "the box farm" because we ship so many different things. Whenever we see a "good box" we add it to the farm. Again, just start slow. There are a bunch of tutorials on eBay. If your descriptions are accurate, you should have little trouble with the customers. Just take good pictures and describe the item well. Good luck!
Thanks so much Q! Yeah, that particular guidebook is a really good one, but even some of the later ones are pretty good as you saw. The AMC (Appalachian Mountain Club) has a very wide following, so you never know when some of those guidebooks are going to pop up! BTW: I'll bet you noticed that we pick up Bibles more often now after you showed us about some of those (I think it was a year or so ago in one of your vids!). Glad to see you back, and thanks for your encouragement!
Thank you so much! And yes, we will be uploading more videos soon! I've been in the middle of a very busy carpentry season this summer, and just didn't get out much. But we'll be back soon. We do have another update coming soon from the latest NASA auction results from Heritage Auction that Kath (my wife) is editing. We very much appreciate your comment and encouragement. Thank you!
This sounds like a great retirement hobby business, thanks for the info.
Thanks so much! It's really a hobby gone awry! We have fun with it! Glad you are enjoying the info!
You sure do know your books! Thank you for the tips 🎉🎉
