In this episode, our martial arts experts Gemma and Noah take on the challenging kung-fu action game Sifu. As they play through the brutal storyline, they'll have to master different fighting styles and face off against relentless enemies in their quest for revenge. However, every time they die, their character ages, making the journey increasingly difficult with each resurrection. With its unique aging mechanic, intense hand-to-hand combat, and stunning environments inspired by Chinese architecture, Sifu promises to put Gemma and Noah's skills to the ultimate test. Get ready for an exhilarating gameplay experience as they fight their way through this unforgiving martial arts adventure.

SIFU is an action beat 'em up video game developed and published by French studio Sloclap. Set in modern-day China, players control the child of a martial arts school's sifu (master) who seeks revenge on those responsible for their father's death. Every time the protagonist dies, they are resurrected by a magical talisman and age up, gaining access to more powerful attacks but reducing their health. When the player character becomes too old, they can die permanently, in which case players must restart the level from the beginning and from the same age as their initial attempt

A "Martial Artists recreate moves from Sifu" episode needs to happen. It would pretty much just be them doing their thing, but I love watching Martial Artists, & the people you guys choose are always fun to watch.

The style showcased in Sifu is Pak mei/ Bak mei kungfu. It is a sister style to Chow gar tong long so the moves are similar. Sensitivity training is trained like wing chun and chain punches are thrown but it uses the sinking motion to follow through punches, use of a lot of oblique kicks around the knee and hips and most importantly uses the phoenix eye punch and leopard strikes across the neck and/ temple as a legitimate attack. Almost like a king fu hook in close range. The developers wanted to show this one style as much as they could.
I'm still wondering why gameology hasnt told them about this with how many times these 2 ask what style of kung fu they're using in Sifu.

As someone who’s beaten Sifu twice and got both endings. Its super fun to watch people learn to play the game. Plus the chemistry between these two is entertaining on its own.
You guys should consider showing parkour experts the game Vector, it has some very realistic parkour elements that I think they would like

The game design of Sifu is the application of practice makes perfect, as learning enemy moves and attacks, as well as understanding the room layout with each run through. Players play through each section, try to make it through at the youngest age possible, encountering less deaths on each run. Love to see y’all play it

You can see they were having the time of their lives, so fun to watch.
This game is beyond badass and plays just like an action film. The mods they have available on the PC make it even more enjoyable.

They need to add arena for this game definitely, maybe expand the story too as DLC.

@@scheewheed8285 There's a game that has a character who fights & shoots like John Wick, but it's very short. Can't remember the title.
This game has some of the best melee combat I’ve ever seen. It feels SO good blocking, parrying, weaving, and just beating the crap out of a group of goons.
It was so much fun watching them get locked into this game. THIS is why we were begging for a Sifu episode for so long.
I was genuinely happy watching how excited Gemma was doing combos and finishers.

Okay this is my favorite Gemma/Noah pairing so far. They have the best semi-competitive sibling relationship. I really hope Gemma gets that Playstation! I would subscribe to that channel, Gemma Plays, (or Noob Nugget) js. Pint sized badass ftw
Love the video and how the experts react to play the game instead of just watching other people play. Just notice that the video capture was not the best, maybe recorded using the Playstation share option or and old capture card not properly set up? If that is the case and you guys will continue doing more like this I would recommend taking the time to properly set up the video capture for better quality of the gameplay.
yeah, bitrate was somehow very low, that's why it got murdered fast, probably youtube decoding on the top of the whatever have been used in the capture added artifacts. In this game textures are kinda flat because of style, so there should not have been such a big impact for the action scenes
I love this game and I never had the patience but Sifu GOTY contender for me. Gemma and Noah, please get a console and stream it or do a complete playthrough! I'd love to see that 🙏🙏🙏Always enjoy watching you guys breakdown of martial art content

This is actually really fun to watch, looking forward for more playthrough on this channel
This is really funny to watch but also frustrating because you can really tell they don't play video games in their free time. SO something that seems so obvious and simple to me is completely unfamiliar and new to them so I'm sitting at my computer raging at them. But then I remember I was once like them not knowing what L3 means and having to look at the buttons on the controller in order to memorize them and then I find myself laughing and cheering them on once it finally clicks with them. This was super fun and I'd love to see more. Maybe next time they can play on account that already beaten the game and perma unlocked all the moves so they can try out new combos, attacks, enemy types and weapons like the knife? Either way this is great and I wanna see more Sifu gameplay and ,maybe have them react to some stylish expert gameplay in later stages.

As far as future episodes go involving martial arts, I would love to see coverage of a game I enjoyed heavily as a kid that a lot of people seem to forget about called Jet Li's Rise to Honor. Some have referred to it as, "Sleeping Dogs before Sleeping Dogs was Sleeping Dogs," which isn't entirely accurate, but I always thought it sounded kind of flattering in a way since I'm also a huge fan of Sleeping Dogs in and of itself.
I would love to see coverage of Sleeping Dogs by you guys as well, but I don't recall if you've done it yet or not so I think Rise to Honor would be an interesting look back into a game that I feel didn't get all the love it deserved. In closing, thanks so much for your content and the work you do. As someone who also practices martial arts and is setting up my own school soon, I greatly value you both and I respect your work.

YEP that’s normal for Sifu lol.
Just a suggestion, if the experts may be unsure of something in the game such as in this case them not knowing which Martial Art Sifu is showcasing it'd be nice for someone from the production crew to tell them and then we can see them learn about it too. I think most people who've played Sifu know that the martial art being used here is Pak Mei so it feels a little irritating no one is telling these wonderful martial artists about it, and it'd be a cool way for the viewers who may not know also learn about it instead of leaving everyone in the dark about what they don't know about.
The Red vs blue fight scenes are awesome. The Highway and the Training fights are some of the best along with the york and Carolina fight.

The fact she is button mashing the way she is and still able to progress through the level speaks volumes tho, I'm assuming they are using the latest update that unlocks accessibility options for the player?

I love these hosts. I could see a series of them commenting on the body kenetics of all sorts of things, from games, to movies, to other movement performances, like saber spinning or poi... Or maybe a try this sort of thing where they do choreography for something like that and show a behind the scenes or something.
