Silly good handgun. At that price point everything needs to be flawless in my opinion. Atlas “experience” dropped the ball on that one a bit.

Outside of the wait time (nature of the beast), it's been flawless. Atlas customer service is top notch as well.

I personally couldn’t be happier with mine. I also have an Artemis and if I could only have 1 gun it would be the Ares.

I love the Artemis as well. I really wanna get my hands on a 4.6 Ares ported.

@@Gruntreviews I was debating on that one as well, Modern Warriors had one in stock several weeks back. I didn’t pull the trigger…😢

Nice review! How do the fiber optic front sights hold up to the heat coming from the ports? Do they melt?

Thank you for the kind words. I'll have a range review up soon, but initial zero I ran 3 mags at a rapid pace with no change in the fiber. I would say it's possible, but you'd need a pretty high rate of fire.

@@Gruntreviews thank you! Last question on the Ares- how is the shooting experience for you? Is it exceptional? Comparable to the Athena at all considering the wt/frame/size difference? Thank you!

@@garmondjoe5517 so I haven't handled an athena, but I have an Artemis. For a small light pistol, the ares is smooth and flat. It shoots like a larger, heavier firearm. It's very easy to shoot at an accelerated pace and drops right back on to target. It's probably the best commander size 2011 I've shot. It's far flatter than the staccato C2.

Mine came with the patch. I wonder if one of the salesmen collects them?

No idea. Not a huge deal, just disappointing.

Id rather get a prodigy and put some atlas parts in a prodigy bye the way ive never seen a 2011 or 1911 that has any slide to frame slop everyone is tight kinda how they have built themsince 1911 lol.

There's plenty of sloppy ones out there. Staccato has had some wiggly ones. But you are correct, the tolerances have definitely improved over the decades.
