Not experiencing their live is like having a PB&J sandwich, without the PB or the J 😜. This song is an amazing song about overcoming obstacles and finding the courage to fight on. Thanks for the great reaction video! I am a high school student who is a Japanese BABYMETAL fan. There is a song that I definitely want you to listen to. It's called "Road of Resistance" and it is the song that symbolizes BABYMETAL. I would like to introduce other great songs, but first I would like to recommend this song🦊🔥🎸

To fully appreciate Babymetal, you really ought to stat at the beginning - with Doki Doki Morning, recorded before any of them hit their teens. By starting at the beginning you will have a better of where they came from and just how far they have come. They have not long ago released their 4th studio album.
Welcome back, nice reaction. Weird or wonderful? Both of course - or you could swap those out for unique and original or innovative, hard working, passionate and incredibly talented. 'Karate' was the lead single for their second album (2016). It is about fighting adversity, when life knocks you down and everything seems too hard so you're hurt and crying, its about standing up and fighting on, helping each other through the hard times. They used karate to illustrate this because as a Japanese martial art it reflects their culture - that was a very important thing for them as well. As with a lot of their songs it is also about always moving forwards. The figures in white were the girls all along and they were conjuring up their own inner demons to fight against. They beat the first, the second knocked them down but they got up to eventually defeat themselves (did you notice the reflections of each of the girls in their own eyes when the masks shattered and it was revealed as them? Not many people spot that). They did watch a lot of martial arts movies to get ideas for the choreo as they wanted it to look as authentic as possible (but they are not martial artists). Moa catching the fly was a nod to Mr Miyagi in The Karate Kid. Mr Miyagi may have used chop sticks (and it may have taken him two or three films before he caught one), Moa caught her fly with her eyes closed - first time .... and she let it go. We all know Moa wouldn't hurt a fly. This song and video won 2 awards. "Best Metal Video in MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2016" and "Best Metal Song in 6th Annual Loudwire Music Awards". As in the comments below, you will not know just how good BABYMETAL are until you see and hear them live. The official videos are all good (and this is one of the best), some should almost be compulsory viewing, but live is where you will always see and most importantly hear them at their best. Here are a couple of suggestions for you (the last one is special): - 'Megitsune' live at PIA Arena April 2023 (one of their earlier songs, still one of the best and a big fan favourite) or live at Legend MM March 2024. - 'Monochrome' also live at PIA Arena April 2023 - 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan official (from 2015) or live at PIA Arena 2023 - 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere UK 2014 - their very first time in the UK aged 16 and 15, virtually unknown apart from a shock factor video that had gone viral ('Gimme Chocolate' - I would suggest leave that until you are a few songs in and if/when you watch it find a live version rather than the official video) and on the main stage at their first metal festival and first major event outside of Japan. They had 25 minutes, just 5 songs, to try to win over 50k+ UK metalheads while singing in Japanese. IDZ was the last song of the set - listen for the crowd at the end as the girls walk off stage.
Good react again. Definitely ypu need this performance live. Believe me, is absolutely amazing! The next Babymetal song, "Syncopation" live, is absolutely perfect! See you Megitsune. 🤟🦊🇯🇵🔥🔥🔥
Pick any BabyMetal song or collaboration with another band they are all worth watching . although their mvs are good live is where they shine brightest . BABYMETAL is the most unique metal experience in the world right now coming from Japan 🇯🇵. Not only their appearances, their style, and everything that surrounds them visually and backing Babymetal for live shows are an incredible band "The Kami Band". They’re so passionate about metal but music in general they know everything about the metal music discography after watching Metallica perform on stage. Babymetal created a new sub genre of metal call "Kawaii Metal" or Cute Metal. Babymetal created a very special feeling, and experience within the entire metal community. They work extremely hard to create something unique for every community ranging from the young, teenagers, middle age to old school metalheads. Babymetal may not be on everyone's metier but if you don't like it's ok. Babymetal paves the way for other Japanese 🇯🇵 bands to be recognized worldwide. BABYMETAL original trio comprises of Suzuka Sakamoto aka Su-Metal, Moa Kikuchi aka Moametal and Yui Mizuno aka Yuimetal. Yui Mizuno left BABYMETAL in 2018 cited health issues", Momoko Okazaki aka Momometal officially became Babymetal third core member in April 2023. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult.
Welcome to the weird, wonderful, amazing, strange, unique world of Babymetal. No two songs are the same and yes, they are their own genre unlike so many 'run of the mill' bands out there today. I have been an avid music listener since the 60's (of all types) but no band/singer/group has affected me like BM. I have been a fan for 10 years and I will be forever.
You have to see a live performance.. Road of Resistance Live will blow you away. Papaya live with all the fireworks is crazy. If you like Rap Battles then you've love BMC... Monochrome both live and the First Take version are incredible.. I'm a 61 year old metalhead and these 3 girls are the most exciting thing metal in over a decade! The best part.. these 3 girls are 100% genuine and they love their fans and the fans love them back!
😊nice reaction, most people start with “Gimme Chocolate “, or “Ijime, Dame, Zettai” ( live at Sonisphere 2014 ) ver. But “Road of Resistance - live in Japan ( official )” is usually what hooks them and gets people falling down the fox hole. Keep the reactions coming!😊😊😊
Thanks for this reaction, welcome back. I'm not a musician or song writer in metal or any other genre, but as I understand it most of Metallica is kind of old school and this is actually kind of a modern metal. But Babymetal does all kinds of styles of metal subgenres and also incorporating other genres of music. Something to know: best to choose Babymetal live videos.
Its hard to just choose any BABYMETAL song and get an accurate representation of them because they have been active for over 10years and were very young when they started with Su Metal being just 13yo and Yui and MOA being an incredible 11yo. You really need to start with Doki Doki morning and go on the adventure.
Live Babymetal is Best Babymetal, now that you've seen the music video, you should now take a look at Karate from Download 2016 and see how 80,000 metalheads jammed with our girls in the pouring rain.😁😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
This music video has a special place in my heart, as it was the first thing I ever saw of Babymetal about two years ago, and since then I have been a happy fan. Apart from the fine song the visuals are indeed georgeous and cool. Girl power galore.
It's "Ijime, Dame, Zetai", not "Ljime, Dame, Zetai"! I, really, don't know why most people assume the first letter of the first word to be no capital while all other words are starting with a capital...
Grington in his usual self has already given you all the info about the song and some great recommendations. Get a few more songs in and you may change your mind on having them on a playlist for repeat listening. That being said, I'll end by suggesting the same songs I did on your Ratatata reaction. Road of Resistance Live in Japan and Headbanger Live @ Legend 1997 (Which abr metal has a good version of titled Headbanger Legend of 1997).
I would recommend you always listen to live, there is so much more character. My favourite BM song is the one I am listening too. For visuals : Rondo of nightmare, Legend 1997 concert with mischiefs of god intro Road of Restance : live in japan, official.
I don't know.. . It's a fun first BM song for the contrast between pop and metal but it's probably their most generic and repetitive song. I think Swift said they liked the stronger vocals more on Karate too, so Gimme Chocolate feels more like a later (not never) recommendation.
Most people down below want you to start at the beginning or middle of where Babymetal was years ago I think it would be better if you witness where they are today with one of their performances from the past year or so there are plenty of quality videos from Babymetal concert Babymetal begins live at PIA arena BLACK KNIGHT OR CLEAR NIGHT with newer songs like Mirror Mirror Maya Believing Metal Kingdom Divine attack Time wave or another one of their collaborations such as kingslayer with bring me the horizon live in Tokyo Babymetal are currently on one of the biggest world tourists to date having just completed their South America tour and just starting their US tour as of yesterday with 17 more dates to come
Thank you for returning the favour (requesting unique bands). I've seen Babymetal being clickbaited to me quite a bit - if you review it, then I'll definitely try them . I'm well before your reactions in the vid - my first impressions are it's a *very enthusiastic and creative track* - I'll definitely line up some more of theirs too. Singing in Japanese has a certain appeal too. I'm still savouring recently finishing a fascinating story about a woman Samurai in the novel *Giri* , so that's a very strong emotional tag I now have with Babymetal. Keep up the great reviews
It sounds familiar and similar to the sound of Metallica, well it's obvious, it's the Metal genre of the band and these bands sound similar, now the tender or sweet part of the voice, it's because it's the Baby part of the band, and they are the pioneers and creators of the Kawaii Metal genre, it's normal for anyone to say: I liked it, I would see it again, but it's not to my musical liking, that's what we all said about BabyMetal when facing this new genre, but when you keep listening to songs, you learn more about the band, their history, how they knocked down walls to be accepted and how they have chipped away at stones from a very young age to have the success of world tours and the support of the Metal genre community, both audiences and bands, you come to love the band. Try to give yourself a chance to expand what you already know with new things, and not just react, you will find a great band, with great musicians and great members.
This era of BABYMETAL is absolutely wonderful, no question about it. It's also Japanese metal, so if doesn't have an amount of weird, they didn't do it right. ;)
The “I was not expecting this” and “WTF did I just watch” are the typical reactions among first-time BABYMETAL viewers. A lot of their songs tend to get that - even after you watch a few of them! I tell folks that BABYMETAL is like single-malt scotch: more often than not, they both tend to be an acquired taste. This is among their best music videos of which they have several. Anyway . . . . You’ve opened a can of worms! BABYMETAL has an extensive history (and lore) which I won’t get into but a quick synopsis: they’ve been around since 2010, and started when their lead singer - known as Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) - was about twelve, and the two "cheerleaders" (officially "scream and dance" (backing vocals)) - Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) and Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) - were both around eleven. Unfortunately, Yui left the group in 2018 because of health concerns, and early in 2023 Momoko Okazaki (Momometal) was named a member of the group. They do not play instruments but are backed by the Kami Band - session musicians who are among the best that Japan (and the U.S.) has to offer. BABYMETAL started a brand new genre of music ("kawaii metal" - cute metal), and they cannot be pigeon-holed - they are almost always thinking and moving outside box; they made listening to metal FUN! They have, to date, four studio albums with over fifty songs, and have been on a number of world tours. It is common knowledge among their devoted fans (known as "The One") that BABYMETAL is best served live, but they do have several music videos that are real works of art. I try to urge people new to BABYMETAL to start from BABYMETAL's beginning and see how they have progressed to now - see where they’ve been before getting caught up in where they are - and react to their first two music videos, "Doki Doki Morning" ( ua-cam.com/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/v-deo.htmlsi=k84SUx4P01t9M5ic ) and "Iine!" (pronounced "E-nay") ( ua-cam.com/video/qVdBBOpSoN4/v-deo.htmlsi=rNZ3yF8RGVdzBZmS ), both released in 2012. I'm sure you will find both very entertaining, and it is my opinion that, until you’ve seen their earlier work, you haven't really experienced BABYMETAL. You’ll notice those are the first two on this list of recommended songs (with links to suggested versions). The first sixteen are from what I've come to call "The Golden Age of BABYMETAL" (better known as "The Yui Era"). This list also includes all four songs of the BABYMETAL sub-group Black BABYMETAL (just Yui and Moa while Su is taking a break): Doki Doki Morning (official music video) ua-cam.com/video/cirhQ8iLdbw/v-deo.htmlsi=k84SUx4P01t9M5ic Iine! - 'Road of Resistance' live in Japan official (from 2015) or live at PIA Arena 2023
- 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' live at Sonisphere UK 2014 - their very first time in the UK aged 16 and 15, virtually unknown apart from a shock factor video that had gone viral ('Gimme Chocolate' - I would suggest leave that until you are a few songs in and if/when you watch it find a live version rather than the official video) and on the main stage at their first metal festival and first major event outside of Japan. They had 25 minutes, just 5 songs, to try to win over 50k+ UK metalheads while singing in Japanese. IDZ was the last song of the set - listen for the crowd at the end as the girls walk off stage.
When Metallica saw them live they said they were astonished by their awesomeness. Their live shows are the best
Road Of Resistance live official, is a MUST SEE !
Hermosa reacción. ❤🦊🤘🏻
Welcome to my favorite band! Can you do Legend 1997 Headbanger? Thank you!
Road of Resistance live in Japan from when they were still teenages or Monochrome from the PIA Arena Clear Night from 2023 are 2 i would recommend . welcome to Foxhole 😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Great reaction! Thank you! 🤘🦊🤘
👍An awesome performance and MV, that has a great message. This MV is special to me, as it was my introduction to the Weird and Wonderful world of BABYMETAL🤗. Great reaction. 🦊 🖖❤
BABYMETAL - Road of Resistance - Live in Japan (OFFICIAL)
Babymetal - Monochrome (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs
Thank you. Yes, I'll do a live performance next.
Great to see Yui ❤
Nice reaction. Now touring North America.
Personally, I don't feel the need to decide between weird and wonderful - I'll gladly take both. :-)
Good reaction👊🏽⚡️ Babymetal are their own genre and mindset. You like it or you don’t. If you don’t…. I question your whole deal…😝🦊🤘🏾
'Karate' is a good place to start. It was the song and video that finally convinced me Babymetal wasn't a joke.
Its hard to just choose any BABYMETAL song and get an accurate representation of them because they have been active for over 10years and were very young when they started with Su Metal being just 13yo and Yui and MOA being an incredible 11yo. You really need to start with Doki Doki morning and go on the adventure.
Weird AND wonderful
🤘🦊🤘
If you like party vibes like EC, try PAPAYA or MATALI.
Babymetal has a different way to tell story, especially those classic Babymetal songs.
Live Babymetal is Best Babymetal, now that you've seen the music video, you should now take a look at Karate from Download 2016 and see how 80,000 metalheads jammed with our girls in the pouring rain.😁😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
Thanks for giving Them a chance!
🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
This music video has a special place in my heart, as it was the first thing I ever saw of Babymetal about two years ago, and since then I have been a happy fan. Apart from the fine song the visuals are indeed georgeous and cool. Girl power galore.
Babymetal - Ljime Dame Zettai !!!!
Weird or wonderful? Yes! You should check out some of their more recent stuff, they are quite a bit older and more mature. They also genre hop a lot.
I would recommend you always listen to live, there is so much more character.
My favourite BM song is the one I am listening too.
For visuals : Rondo of nightmare, Legend 1997 concert with mischiefs of god intro
Road of Restance : live in japan, official.
BABYMETAL "GIMME CHOCOLATE" ❤❤
I don't know.. . It's a fun first BM song for the contrast between pop and metal but it's probably their most generic and repetitive song. I think Swift said they liked the stronger vocals more on Karate too, so Gimme Chocolate feels more like a later (not never) recommendation.
@danbadd NOPE! GIMME CHOCOLATE"! She'll love it! (respect your opinion though) 👌
Most people down below want you to start at the beginning or middle of where Babymetal was years ago I think it would be better if you witness where they are today with one of their performances from the past year or so there are plenty of quality videos from Babymetal concert Babymetal begins live at PIA arena BLACK KNIGHT OR CLEAR NIGHT with newer songs like Mirror Mirror Maya Believing Metal Kingdom Divine attack Time wave or another one of their collaborations such as kingslayer with bring me the horizon live in Tokyo Babymetal are currently on one of the biggest world tourists to date having just completed their South America tour and just starting their US tour as of yesterday with 17 more dates to come
Thank you!
Cheers NR
🔥🤘🦊🤘🔥
Older Baby Metal, like this song or earlier, is better.
Wonderful
It's also Japanese metal, so if doesn't have an amount of weird, they didn't do it right. ;)
🦊🦊🦊
Check out Babymetal Dusk til Dawn budokan 2021, her vocals are insane!
Weird and wonderful
must see, Babymetal, The First take, Monochrome.
You should check out the lyrics to Karate. They are super important, especially at the moment.
Pretty good for high school students, Huh.
🤘🇺🇦❤️🦊🦊🦊❤️🇯🇵🤘
This list also includes all four songs of the BABYMETAL sub-group Black BABYMETAL (just Yui and Moa while Su is taking a break):

You can use my UA-cam playlist “BABYMETAL Top Twenty” ( ua-cam.com/play/PLdhz2aj0pt4zPl0BZLevPUR9uHKQA27uj.html ) as a quick link to all of these videos; it is a mix of MV’s and live performances, is more or less in historical sequence, and could be considered a road map down the BABYMETAL foxhole. If nothing else, it can be used as a reference to find high quality versions of BABYMETAL songs without mucking about - if they are on the list. Anyway . . . .
Another recommendation (read "challenge"): react to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest:
"Legend 1997 Apocalypse" ua-cam.com/play/PLdBAj9hZ91wCao72oSqTMLrGpIDOqzR2Q.html
and/or
"Budokan Black Night" (2014) ua-cam.com/play/PLdBAj9hZ91wBwsBfjsKH9zWxA5YOOUkSI.html
Both concerts are, in a word, incredible.
Enjoy your trip down the foxhole! (You're in for a wild ride!!!)
Keep rockin' BABYMETAL!!! (Sorry about the wall!)
KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘
Thank you. I'll check put your suggestions. Awesome comment. 🍻👋🇦🇺
@@SwiftReactions Thank you as well. I sincerely hope this helps you enjoy further BABYMETAL experiences. 🤘🦊🤘
BABYMETAL RULES! #MAGAFOREVER 🇺🇸
A reaction to men at work down under
I only listen to babymetal, so everything else seems weird to me.
"Is there any more babymetal I need to see?" 😆
Hi Australia, great reaction you should try Within Temptation,a Dutch great Symphonic Metalband.
Faster Faster and Mother Earth, some great numbers.
Greetings from Holland.
Hey Cuzzie (I'm 1/4 dutch), I will definitely check that out. Dutch symphonic metal sounds like a plan. Thank you so much! 🇦🇺👋🍻
Looking forward to it!!
