So, one day at church I shook hands with a friend, and looked down and said, I see I have found the hand of Franklin - since that is his name. He had not heard of the song, but he followed my directions and when he found it he did enjoy it, as one might expect. I think it is a great song and he has the added advantage of the personal connection. :-)
WOW! I've heard the band a few times before, but it never moved me all that much. Then today, August 5 2020, this comes along. How just a single song/video can instantly pound a sincere respect for a band into me like this, is still a riddle to me. But sure it did. Well done. Great piece of art.
I have only listened to UTA for about 2 years and I can say with absolute honesty THIS BAND IS INCREDIBLE. Between Brittney's voice, and the power of the guitars to the ALMIGHTY DRUMS. You guys are incredible. I only pray one day you tour in Pennsylvania USA.
Amazing version - truth be told, when I first heard of a "different" version of Stan's song I was skeptical ....no longer. This group nailed it and I will be following more of their music as a result. They paid respect to Stan and yet I am sure are bringing a new and younger group to learn about Stan and his music as well as their own !!! I am an old fart, listening to Stan for many years ....thank you Unleash the Archers for this ....for your own music as well .....someone commented here earlier that Stan's music is important to Canadians, that is true, I am not Canadian, I have traveled throughout the country, every province that is ..... I would add this - Stan's music is important to the WORLD ....a giant .....thanks for posting this, for this moving forward of his music and for your own wonderful, pounding yet graceful music. Thank you !
You guys have me feeling homesick for Canada. I've never been within 3320km of Canada but your rendition evokes true passion for that wild and beautiful land.

This was altogether wonderful.
The subject matter may not be your thing, but their previous album, Apex, is one I would recommend giving a listen to at least once. It is a "concept" album. Apex tells a story over the course of the album. The content of each song leading into the next to build a contiguous story. It may be one of the better power metal albums ever made. Each member of this band is a talented musician, but Brittney Hayes is the keystone. Her vocal talent breathes true life into the music they create together. She is an absolute master in the field.

I've been listening to metal since 1975. I've heard all the best. UTA is without question the apotheosis of metal. They are the greatest band, with the best musicians, and the greatest singer rock has ever known.
Nice work! NOT an easy song to do!

@@Twisted_yer_mum lmfao check out his happy birthday Mark video, apparently something strong.
An easy one to butcher. Which they did.
Just found the Stan Rogers version today and cried, then cried when I heard this version...then proceeded to listen to nothing but THIS version all day, non stop, not joking, a good 6 hours of the same song.
lol same bro
Heard this played live in Hollywood last night. You ain't lived till you've moshed to Northwest Passage, it fukken ruled.
This makes me want to explore Canada.
Im the youngest descendant of Anthony Henday (that i know of) and ive been thinking about recreating his journey.
With this as a soundtrack, how could I fail?!
I lived in the area for a few years. If you're interested I can tell you about some of the locations in the video..
Many Edmontonians take the Anthony Henday journey every day.
This video hit my feels. I was not prepared for this...
Right? Every time the other Brittney hand grabs the mic and original(?) Britney looks over in confusion my heart suddenly wrenches and I don't even know why
@@indesignkat It's a reflection of her fear. She sees things changing all around her and it's scary, especially with the amount of success they've had. At the end her "fear" forces her to flee, mid-performance. But then the real her, the one with courage, determination, and perseverance kills that fear and embraces her new life. The one that ran was the one that was content sitting at her desk running over spreadsheets cause it was safe and stable.
I agree with everything said here and would also like to state that her voice is absolutely beautiful.
You all rock so much! Keep up everything, we Love you!
I literally discovered this song one day ago and played it up and down on Spotify...and now it is gone and I am sad as it will mean I will not listen to it as much, but I am totally willing to hop on UA-cam just for this 😊
So, one day at church I shook hands with a friend, and looked down and said, I see I have found the hand of Franklin - since that is his name. He had not heard of the song, but he followed my directions and when he found it he did enjoy it, as one might expect. I think it is a great song and he has the added advantage of the personal connection. :-)
This band is like a fine wine. Keeps getting better with age! Now I must wipe the tear from eye and explore.
WOW! I've heard the band a few times before, but it never moved me all that much. Then today, August 5 2020, this comes along. How just a single song/video can instantly pound a sincere respect for a band into me like this, is still a riddle to me. But sure it did. Well done. Great piece of art.
If you love this video, check out this interview with Unleash the Archers axe-man Grant ua-cam.com/video/kqQnl_G2ilo/v-deo.html
You know, it takes a lot of guts to cover a legend like Mister Stan. Well done, folks. Ye've done it.
May Franklin and all those badass sailors and officers rest in peace you are now a legends ❤🇬🇧🇮🇪🏴🏴☘️☘️☘️
I love the limping candy when Brittney comes out of the gas station. That was a good call.
RIGHT?! Perfect window without words into her thought process at that exact moment.
@@VorAbaddon I also got a great lol at that one & with these stupid bruised ribs... the pain was totally worth it!
Rock on all!
I always loved Stan Roger's original but this is awesome too. So Canadian.
I first heard this song on my motorcycle riding through Tucson AZ. Best ride ever!
UTA is my fav riding music for a very good reason.
As a metalhead and Stan Rogers fan I applaud this. Well done
Thank you !
What a joy - thanks for creating this. I imagine Stan would have laughed heartily and thrown up the horns.
You guys have me feeling homesick for Canada. I've never been within 3320km of Canada but your rendition evokes true passion for that wild and beautiful land.
one of the best covers of all time
AGREED!
Im American but I know several of my great grand parents came here by way of Canada via Scotland and this song hits me deep.
Every time I hear any of the UTA songs, I feel I don’t have enough inner freedom to listen to it. And, of course, I completely fell in love with Britney’s voice!
A worthy cover, Stan would be proud.
This is one of the most incredible songs I have ever heard. The Franklin Expedition--what a honorific. Thank you for this.
up there with donnor party
Others waited for Tool. I waited for this.
I wait for both xD
Tool is overrated.
Tool blow but this song is kinda stock, looking forward to the rest though.
Because you can think for yourself.
@Juggled Lotus I feel like that's a bit of an exaggeration. Lady Gaga is the biggest tool in the music industry.
Can't get any more Canadian then this ......makes me proud
Over 20 years ago I was a rock and folk fiddler in serveral bands, I have long since retired. But I still think I know when bands are good. And you guys are really, really great imo. :D Thank you for for your great contributions to modern music.
Metal rendition of a Stan Rogers classic? I'm not too proud to admit that I was belting out the lyrics along with this video. Alone in my office.
Well done!
Loved the song when I first heard it, then I listened to the Stan Rogers recording. Now I can really appreciate how accurately they recreated the backing vocals - never picked them up before. Incredible...
Chills. It's like Stan Rogers came back as a metal woman
An old woman from the States here, who'd never heard of this band... Imagine my delight at finding a stunning female voice owning this song....
...and imagine my surprise a bit later ;-) Even tho it has never spoken for me, I respect Metal, and the story line of video kept me planted.
@@raifsevrence Revisitng long after & glad to see this generous reply - i am a leaver of such things myself :->
So please accept my genuine appreciation. That said, reading a detailed description of the album's evolution is probably as close as i will get to taking it in.
My 4 year old loves you all. We all do. I'm happy good music lives here.
