It still blows my mind how an accident led to a cancer diagnosis. Very glad it worked out for the best, Nick seems like one of the nicest people out there
Cancer diagnosis are often found by accident or rather while theyre looking for something else
Nicks the best
Blessing in disguise.
Personally I think divine intervention
I met Nick at WSM on Thursday. He was hanging out in the fan area for a super long time taking pictures and chatting with anyone that stopped by to say hi. Had no idea Nick had this issue to go through. You're the best Nick, I hope everything is going well for you
What i love the most abt Nick is that hes not afraid to show his soft side. Like he doesnt turn into a blubbering mess but hes no ashamed to get choked up over things either
Seeing Nick being a big softie always makes me feel more comfortable in my own skin. The strength these guys have is not just in the gym and it's inspiring.
Yeah well bulking up to 500 pounds on copious amount of food, an ungodly amount of roids plus the brutal training every single day is more of a mind thing than a body thing. Who would've thought?
Nick Best must be protected at all cost.
Who else got emotional when they saw nick had cancer?
Glad you're better, nick!
I'm glad to see Nick's doing better it really hit home when he started crying and tell him Brian he the best that's VERY DEEP ❤.
To be fair, he's always crying. :P
@@TheBcoolGuy Eddie said he cried every episode on History’s Strongest Man
@@TheBcoolGuy Nothing wrong with a guy showing emotion, makes Nick that much more human and down to earth. I'd rather know a guy like Nick than a guy who is like a stone and you have no clue what's going on in their head.
An accident in the gym saved his life! I liked his attitude of you either fall apart or stay positive and look at all of it as being a small moment in time to have the rest of your life back to normal.
I'm so glad Nick is doing well, he's one of my favorite strongmen.
I finished my last chemo session almost to the day that you had your appointment, crazy world. Strong man Nick, lots of love from the uk.
My sister also discovered cancer by accident, that wasn't even a consideration before tests were done. Quite a battle, but it's been gone for years now, no signs of it coming back.
So happy that Nick beat it too, through the most crazy set of circumstances. Too strong to be beaten by such a stupid disease.
Congratulations to your sister beating cancer😊 that’s awesome 🎊
Same with my wife, our dog jumped on her and hit in at the right spot, she is good now but crazy how it happened, good news for your sister too!
My dad died of lung cancer 2yrs and 2 days ago, absolutely crushed me. Sure am glad the legendary Mr. Nick is gonna be good to go 💪💪 also I'm super stoked to see you training for arm wrestling.. maybe hire Devon and or Ongarbaev and lawwwwd hammercy you'll be unstoppable 💪🏆🇺🇸🦅
Sorry for your loss man. Hope you been holding up well
@@rubikbbx thanks man.. was tough but made it thru it.. still have days but getting along alot better these days
Keep your head up bro your dad will be proud of you
@@steven.1983 thanks man I appreciate it 🤘

Nick is such a fantastic, tough, resilient, and loveable man. He inspires healthy behaviour and happiness in everyone around him.
41:45 that is fucking great quote "Being the best you" and "I was the best Strongman i Could be" Oh man! that needs to be on a shirt. And nick also saying i made it really far and I was never as good as you just shows what a Humble Legend and respectful Strongman he is. Nick BEST for a reason👍💪😤
Nick's looking bigger than ever. Good to see the man's still got it.
Nick Best is such a warrior and what an inspiration to have for everyone in any profession at any age!!👍🏻💪🏻
Aww. Somebody give Nick a hug.
Nick is awesome and a fantastic regular guest on the podcast!
I love Nick so much. Every time I see him I want to give him a big’ol hug
Love these two real men, so motivating for me to get out in my garage and with what little equipment I have I still do the best I can at my age. Thank you Brian and Nick for helping to motivate this old man into getting back into weight lifting! Much gratitude!
“Oh you’re so brave for sharing your excuse and not getting the job done”.

I love it man!
Great episode. I would love to see Big Loz and Auntie Liz on the podcast.
Seeing guys like this get emotional gives me hope for my mental health issues i am experiencing right now.
🌽
Great pod cast. Nick has an incredible mind set!
Accident was a blessing in disguise!
NICK YOU WILL BEAT THIS PERIOD.
Watching this, A LOT of bells were ringing. Love you both.
So glad you are better Nick! Much ❤️ and respect for you 💯
So glad you're doing well now Nick!!! Keep up the positive vibes and strength brother!!
Nick, I’m glad you’re doing better. This was a great conversation and there was some really good things said on this podcast! Nick you are a smart guy and both of you are great competitors and human beings. I’m glad you have a podcast Brian. Keep it going even after you retire. 😊💪
Nick Best is a warrior, stoic, strong, a true man.
My brother and his wife met Nick yesterday at a shooting range in Vegas, they shot all sorts, pistols, smgs, .50 cal (That thing is awesome!) and my bro said Nick was the nicest guy. They had an awesome time and said to say thanks again for the cool experience. He had no idea until he called me on the night and i let him know who you were. Stay strong brother, big fan 💪🏻
So glad Nick back to himself. He almost got me on that one part to dammit lol. I would love a podcast or story of Brian’s life if he ever wanted to share that. Amazing podcast as usual.
Just listen to Brian always talking positive about other people. Brian is always putting people above himself. Brian almost lost his leg and has no once interrupted to explain his story but yet trying to just let nick know he means the world to life. Love some brian Shaw!! Glad nick is ok
Glad Nick is doing better, incredible story
Phenomenal episode! Overcoming adversity makes an individual stronger. I am so glad that Mr. Best overcame cancer!
Thank you for sharing, Nick. You're a hero to so many people
I needed the help of a therapist and good friends to get me through
Ha love it make a joke attack Eddie! Shows the true love and friendship they all have! Best way to lighten a mood!
Brian absolutely hitting the nail on the head with todays mindset “people are so brave to give their excuse to not get something done”
We all love Nick !
Really need this at the moment
We love you Nick!
This was a very inspiration podcast for me, thanks fellas, much respect.
We love Nick
That air pain hurts so bad. I had a Petersen's space hernia in December and the pain from air in ur body hurts so bad. I had air in my shoulders. I honestly thought they pulled my shoulder out I couldn’t move my shoulder at all. I started walking and the pain went away
Nick is a lovely guy. Glad he beat it.
Ouuufff, seeing nick get so emotional. My heart. You're killing it brother. 🤙
Great video and glad you're doing well Nick!
Is it worth it to lift weights?
Nick, lifting weights literally saved your freaking life. God damn it was worth it.
Nick should definitely be co host.
25:00 they didnt "miss" those notes. Insurance didnt want to cover it and people didnt say anything
Nick is a seriously nice guy. His wife is a great woman (so scary for her). Seriously she has endured so much.
Two of the nicest people
Great to see you're doing great Nick. Thanks for sharing your story.
Nick is amazing. Such a genuine guy
both of you are very inspiring. keep up the good work
I needed this! I am going in for my 5 knee surgery, 2 PCL reconstruction and I was feeling down but Nick you inspire me!
Nick you are just an amazing guy! A mentor to how to live
Found out last year I had a tumor in my pancreas metastatic to my liver. Managed to stay in the gym during chemo, though at a reduced rate. Had an extensive surgery that took part of my pancreas, gallbladder, a lot of the plumbing, and part of my liver. They then reattached everything. In the end lost 40lbs, and trying to get back into it at gym. Will say it put a lot into perspective and definitely brought me closer to God.
Nick I hope you thank God for that "accident "... you guys are great!
23:27 chills
I had renal cancer at 30 I had the whole kidney removed it has completely broken me and still effects me today even tho I have been cleared from remission 7 years on , god bless anyone dealing with this terrible disease ✌🏻❤
Nick, you old softie.❣
I like how they said there’s winning at competitions and there’s wins in life
You may not win WSM but you didn’t quit and that’s what matters
I’m not a strongman (yet) but I appreciate this philosophy
Looking back I’ve had moments where I didn’t win the competition but I won at life and that makes it better
Ffs Nick, you got me tearing up out here! What a brilliant watch and interesting listen, thabk god you’re ok and on the mend.
As always thanks for sharing & Brian is the 🐐
That's gotta be a t shirt Brian! " There's no other option... Be great"
Amazing story
Doing small things add up and your effort compounds.

I can't even imagine the shock of coming in for what is just a physical injury, and having the doctor walk in and say "Well... You have cancer." Most people that go in have at least considered the fact that they could have it before even going to see a doctor. Just having it dropped suddenly on you out of nowhere would be like opening a door, expecting a staircase to be behind it, but all there is, is a hole in the ground for you to fall straight in.
God allowed that to happen so it would be discovered
Strong Man !!!
Awesome Podcast Brian 💪👍
I am missing your Spotify uploads
Brian love the podcasts...I have a question for ya....I am about 275 lbs and I sit in a similar chair...Can you tell me where you purchased it ..I wear out a chair yearly...
That blows my mind man so I mean we should all get scans like once every few years or what? Because that is wild we would never know!
Two of the nicest guys! I’ve broken my back twice and just eat pain pills. I would like to work out but I’m afraid I’ll hurt myself. I went from walking over 5 miles a day to just sitting around in pain. I’m just getting worse. At 65 I’m not sure if I’m to old to work out.
Can’t wait to have Robert oberst
love ya nick
nick best is the best'
Side note what happened to the big table?
This was filmed at the same time as Nicks most recent appearance.
@@brandenbizelli6332 ah ok makes sense
Brian what happened to your cool table?
This was recorded before the cool table I believe
Nik and paul bro chat need a collab idk why😁
Glad you're going to be okay Nick. I'm glad the hospital radiologist spoke up when they saw something unrelated in your scan. You'll have to send the radiologist a few Tomahawk steaks and some good beer. Keep up the good fight brother. You are an inspiration. Love both of you cats.
wow
❤️ 🙏 💪
Nick: lifting in under 14 days could kill you because increased blood pressure could cause internal bleeding
Also Nick: so I waited about 10 days
you can try to be the best, *_ever_*
try..
but first, just at least try to be the *_best, you_*
just be the best you
noice
So to be a good friend, and being roughly 430 pounds, Brian should jump on Nick's chest every couple of years just to make sure he goes to the doctor and gets checked out.
Nick describes the scope of the kidney through the urinary tract. been there, done it while awake. no joke it is like pee'ing razor blades after. not fun.
至誠頂禮 旺扎上尊
I hope you’re doing amazing Nick. You’re such a gladiator, or should I say Viking? Bryan, perhaps if your wife joined you, she could pacify the mood when things get a little intense. Especially as your channel grows
I think Brian is great at handling the difficult conversations on his own
Such a fan of these guys. Not a fan of most of the fitness people.
Do you know why some people don't share moat things with close friends even after 10-20 yrs? It's because some of the events that they have been through are VERY PERSONAL to them, as it raises a sense of insecurity and being able to say to others "hey, I don't feel sharing this life changing or life-altering event because it's going to make me feel like I'm not accepted and vulnerable to hate and discrimination it might put me through cause people might look at me a certain way or say certain things that offend me or might make me relive that personal event or life-changing time. In this society, we as like-minded people will always live day after day experiencing certain things and believing them as they are told but you'll never know what someone went through 5, 10, 15 yrs ago that is so personal to them that even asking them might make them feel a sense of insecurity and having you metaphorically live in their shoes and what it would feel like for you who has never been through anything like the person sitting next to you, live that experience as they did years ago.
I hope what I said is on par with what is being talked ab on this episode. I'm a social worker and always will look for questions like this one to answer from Mt heart. Thx and huge fan of both Brian, nick, Eddie, and oberst. Thanks guys!!.
Without seeing this, I'm pretty sure Nick cries for an hour straight!
I wish I was half the man Nick is
The mindset of the pro strongman is so inspirational. Its incredible to see what you all get through xx
Any chance for a dig at Eddie 😂😂😂
We love you Nick!
