I'm currently reading Dinner at the homesick restaurant by Anne Tyler and it's lovely 😊... Brotherless night was a good book indeed! Like you rightly said very informative and it is best read as an audiobook (I feel).... Habitations is on my tbr... would like to get to it soon 😊
Well Russell, 4 out of 12 isn't bad, right? I added three to my TBR (The Husbands, Habitations and Brotherless Night) and I already have The Extinction of Irena Ray on my shelf. As soon as this heatwave ends (we're setting records every day), and my brain is no longer mush, I'll try to get to some. I'm currently reading Master Slave Husband Wife. It's excellent but, like I said, my brain is mush so it's going very slowly.
I wanted to like “ All Fours” but it didn’t work for me either. I also felt it was trying too hard. I found myself comparing it to “ Splinters” by Leslie Jamison. I realize one is fiction and the other is a memoir. Jamison’s book was so well done and rang much more authentic to me.
Some great books there. I however did not get along with Parade at all, I found it a bit confusing and very pretentious. Not for me. I have been having a slow reading month as I'm still trying to get through Praiseworthy by Alexis Wright which is a very big and dense book.
I can see that about Parade. It was certainly a challenge, not the easiest of her books for sure. I need to read some Wright , I have only heard amazing things.
Brotherless Night is one of my favorites of the year so far. So good! Great recommendations!
It has won all the awards. So, I am glad you loved it. Share the love.
I have reserved The Husbands at my library. Sounds a lot of funx
You have to tell me what you think. Hope you like it so much.
There are at least 2 of these books I want to read. Thanks for the excellent reviews.
2 is good. Hope you like them.
I loved "Ædnan." And I just re-read "Walden" recently, so "Followed by a Lark" sounds like a great book to read "next." Thank you, Russell!
Oh I hope you love Followed by a Lark. I have heard nothing but found it just lovely.
I love Rachel Cusk- The Country Life was so much fun and I enjoyed the Outline Trilogy & Parade.
I like her a lot too. Parade was my least favorite, but i think she is brilliant.

I have not heard much about the Tyler book - you will need to tell what you think at the end of the book. :-)
@@InkandPaperBlog Will surely do....😊

4 is good. I will take it as a win. I am tired of the heat and my brain is fried too. Hope it cools down soon.
I have The Husbands on audio but haven't listened to much of it yet. I'm enjoying it so far!
it is a good audio. I think you will enjoy it.

❤️❤️
I loved The Husbands book. I talked about it a lot but couldn't get anyone else to read it....
Oh I am so glad that I could help you spread the love. I too thought it would be bigger than it was.

Trying to hard for sure. Pushing the envelope, but I could not figure out why.
Why does noone ever talk about Jane Gardam? A British writer of the highest order. Thanks, enjoyed.
I have recommended Old Filth a number of times. But I don’t think she had anything released this year, did she.

Is Ædnan about the Sami people?
Yes. I think you are correct.
