Listen here guys.... A mower needs to be serviced here and there. This mower here is way more complicated than your average run-of-the-mill rotary push mower. This here is a high class highly complicated mower. A crap load of moving parts and things to break and items to service. IF you want a lawn course looking lawn then you need to do what golf courses do.

You know its early in the mowing season when you say, "I wasnt planning on mowing but heck why not". Have a 3250D and just changed the oil over the weekend. I haven't found my "guy" to send my reels to yet. If anyone knows someone around upstate SC let me know.

Stuck on filters is a real pisser. I had to deal with a over torqued filter recently. I just drilled a hole in the side, stuck a screw driver in and twisted it off. Worked like a charm.
But yeah... Isn't having to go that route a major pisser? Indeed it is
"Spending more money than I should" should be a warning label on any piece of equipment used for golf course maintenance. I spend a few grand a year on 1200 square feet of bentgrass.

You are 100% right in the description. Comparing even a walk behind greens mower to a lawn mower is kinda silly. Different type of beast. I've got my GM1000 cutting at .185". I have my country club mechanic grind my reel a couple times a season. Costs me a bottle of Scotch. I'm just cutting a 1200 square foot putting green in my backyard.

How often do you relief grind? I have a reel mower that I cut 1500 sqft once twice a week. Do I need to relief grind every year?
I have my reel sharpened 1 time per year and he does the relief everytime

Where do you get your reel sharpened? I live in Utah! I can just keep back lapping.
Turf Equipment and Irrigation in Salt Lake sharpens reels. Just had mine done and was in and out in just a couple of days. Jeff in the service department is awesome!
Forgot to mention they are a Toro distributor so not sure if they sharpen other brands.
