she's really great and it'd have been great had she and VU and/lou reed stayed together as a band.
tolles Album; leider nur die CD-Version mit -4 Tracks
Elle avait un talent inimaginable qui s'est éteint, hélas! Une chute de vélo, sans raison.
she was a borderliner
Fue pionera tocando TECLAO, ESO FUE LO QUÉ LE JODIÓ A REED
La vie n'est pas juste. Une femme comme elle, qui avait expérimenté tant de choses et il faut qu'elle tombe d'un vélo ou d'une mobilette.

как название альбома переводится?
За железным занавесом
Was this actually recorded in Eastern Bloc countries? I wonder if she played East Germany?
I don't know about her having performed specifically in East Germany, but I do remember reading that she dedicated "Das Lied der Deutschen" at one concert to the far left revolutionary Andreas Baader. And she did frequently perform in Yugoslavia, so it's safe to say that she did perform in Communist nations.
Also I find the title to this album to be really apposite regarding Nico and her career. She was born in West Germany, and began working as a model in Paris before moving to New York to sing with the Velvets, later moving to Manchester in the late 70s. All these regions were capitalistic, and her early job as a model promoted the consumerism typically associated with the ideology, and yet her sympathy for communism as well as her disdain for the Nazis (contrary to popular opinion), alongside being a bohemian who did not care for mainstream success, all evidenced her liberal side. So essentially, "Behind the Iron Curtain" makes me think of her breaking through the barrier between the Communists and the Capitalists by frequenting both sides and not merely sequestering herself to one given side.
@@vintagedits There's also the song title about the "Polish Motorway". In the years right before the Iron Curtain fell I think a lot more Western artist played in Eastern Bloc countries.
@@IStandAlone1 You're right about "All Saints Night on a Polish Motorway", and it definitely makes sense that she would have been performing more in Eastern Bloc countries in the early 80s as opposed to the 60s or 70s.
Recorded live at the "Pandora's Music Box Festival" in Rotterdam at "De Doelen, Concertgebouw" on 9 october 1985.
Elle n'était ni ivre ni défoncée. Si jeune.
she celebrated her own slowly dying with drugs and she had the money for this ... she was tired of life
Wish someone could upload the full album. This is the CD version which excludes four songs.
