Bonus Tip! I decided to record an 11th tip on unclogging and reviving an old gen pen that isn't working anymore… it brought my 4-year-old Uni-ball Signo Broad back to life! Have you tried any of these methods? What has worked for you?
I just got my first ever set of white gel pens, and this video helped a lot, so thank you! Before I would just try to make do with my eraser for highlights, but it started getting a bit frustrating, so I asked my parents to buy some gel pens. But, I didn't know how to use them so I searched to see if there were any videos with tips on how to use them, and this video showed up. It really did help, so thank you! (I got the Uni-ball Signo pens.)
I go with: They are all sold with the tip up, so tip up. However, I ran out of room, so they are all lying down and still work. I don't put the lid on. With my gel pens, I go with the scrap paper and just give it a tap. It works for me. Thanks.
I love watching your videos. You always give such good info on EVERYTHING! Thank you kindly. I’ve just started to highlight in my coloring this last year, so still trying to get the color pallet down. Thanks for all your tips. 💗🧡❤️🔥
There's a safety feature on some lids to stop children from choking, don't block this, but research a way to cover the nib itself to prevent drying out.
I've gotten frustrated in the past because my gel goes down white and dries more of a yellow. Of course the darker the color underneath the more deep of a yellow it becomes so I think it's just because it's alcohol ink but idk. This tutorial was super helpful tho thank you!!
Hi Sarah. Thanks for this video Do you know if gel paints will work well on canvas with no prep etc. Or anything other than actual paints. Thanks so much!
As kids we would run pens over the rubbery bottom of our shoes when they got stuck. It works but it’s not very hygienic. But maybe some other rubbery thing might work?
Came to this video after glancing through your blog post -- also. going to try to revive my own uni-ball pen, never occurred to me that it might just need to be cleaned >.< Thanks! Just a random thought, if you ever re-do your white pen review, you might consider trying them over ink pen, I'm sure it'd be similar to the gel pen section, but I do a lot of sketching with regular ink pens and my white pens, so it'd be interesting to see how they glide over other ink mediums as well.
recently i bought pack of assorted (3 diff thickness) in sakura Gel Pens (WHITE). but when I used to draw highlights/glittering white in portrait drawing (in 4b,2b,8B graphite pencil) in A3 size paper they are not working. what shall I do?
I got many, from different brands (including Gelly Rolls, also white Acrylic pens etc) NONE of them worked! All where either expired or where never supposed to leave the factory... Only the white acrylic marker spilled a huge amount of white paint, only to destroy my art.. The only supplies that worked, where the Rembrandt White Soft pastel, the Derwent drawing Chinese White, the Faber Castell Pitt pastel white and the General's White charcoal!!! These can add highlights, on any dry medium drawings, as also watercolor paintings!! No more money on supplies that don't even put a single white line, even on black paper. PS If you do the mistake, to go for Gelly Rolls, get the Bold one, the 1.0mm. The finer ones I got, not even a single white line came out of them. The paint seems too thick, for the fine tips.. Go with Bold and cross your fingers, it won't be expired...
Why is it that the writings get erased after multiple touches on it even after leaving it to dry for a while night. I used the uniball jel pen. Pls give me a solution.

Wood works amazingly well. It’s what many of the manufacturers recommend. I haven’t tried rubber, but that makes sense to me too! My hand often works (I rub it along my palm)

I’m glad it was helpful! And I think you’ll enjoy the uni-ball signo. They are one of my favorites
eraser can make soft highlights or less opaque ones
How can I get the white gel pen?
@@johnmarkochieng7742 Amazon probably has them
I got your top favorite white gel pen today!!! ♥️♥️♥️. Decorese & Pentel dx.

JOSH EMMETT the tapping really works! I didn’t expect it to work as easily as it did. Other than that, the wood was the next best for my pen

Good tips, solid advice. 👌 thank you.
I find that on watercolors , it best if I wait a day for them to be completely dry. The white pen works better. 🖌🎨
I have difficulty finding those white markers on your top list except for uniball signo broad and uni posca white
demon6937 did you check the links I provided in the blog post?

Shared to a couple of other groups, just a pity you can’t share to more than one group at a time.
Thanks and congratulations
Jennifer Stay of Coloring Bliss says cap it and rap it on a pad of paper strongly in her White Pen video.

My white gel pen is not working on color pencils Can you give me the reason why?

Hi! I really need help, in your opinion, is the uni ball signo broad or the Pentel hyrbrid DX best for highlighting on prismacolours?
I tend to use my Uni-Ball Signo the most
what if a new pen won’t work at all?

What are you writing on? I’ve never had this problem
Great video! Curious to know if that deep scream at 3:33 is all about lol
Use a lighter to resurrect gel pens. Be careful to not met plastic. Works EVERY time!!!
Boiling water also works and is probably less likely to melt it
Jet pens has a video that answers some storage questions, and much more!
