Yes, I'm a very lucky chap. Looking at and listening to this was an exceptionally good day at the office. Hope you all enjoyed it (and if you did, please do share it around if possible - it's a great help and hugely appreciated). Anyone adjusted their dream garage line-up after watching this?
Thanks for this Henry. I was bought up right by Goodwood circuit and spend as much time as I can driving on those roads. Definitely ticked allot of boxes for me, dream car and some of my favourite roads. 👍👍
Yeah. Agreed. The video maker is uneducated about these things. It sounds like half a Merlin engine from a WW2 plane. It seems like it's taxiing down the runway. But it's got an extra exhaust muffler cracking note too.
Never been so sad seeing a car like this; the fact that it is pretty much unobtainable for most of us. Only exists in our imaginations. Thank you Carfection for showing us a magnificent piece of engineering.
In a sense, yes. I even teared up for reasons unknown to me. This is a beatiful peice, and Henry captures the experience and shares it with us for free. I feel blessed to have him behind the wheel, bringing this to our electronic devices for us to experience even a sliver of the briliance of this passion of automotive art and engineering. So what I'm trying to say is: although you and I will never experience this actual car, and it's actual sensations, it's just enough (for me at least) to have Henry as the one to share it with us.
The "pharp" sounds like a Morris minor. Sorry but I don't actually like it - and I love the sound of big carbs and induction roar. I think there are way nicer sounding engines out there.
I got to ride in a British racing green Jaguar E-type as a young man about 20 or 21. I went through a parking lot of a old fancy hotel and stopped to gauk at the convertible when it's owner came out and said he'd give me a ride if I helped put the cover on it. I of course said Yes. The ride is something I'll never forget as long as I live. Thanks for the memories.
What a Beauty. My dad was an E-Type owner in the late 70's and eighties. He sold it when he moved to America in 1990. Sadly he passed away in 2003, but the E-Type always reminds me of my childhood. He would be fascinated by this restoration. Fantastic car.
The nice thing about this resto-mod is, they didn’t take shortcuts. For example, they could have shoehorned a 500 hp crate V8 in its engine bay but instead completely reworked the original twin-cam six. In this and many other ways, the Eagle team preserved the car’s “Jaguarness” both in appearance and, even more important, in the driving experience.
Dear Henry Catchpole. Following your career since the very first days at EVO magazine. I have been a subscriber for many, many years. And what a progress you made. Good to see, when someone is loving his job and doing it well.
The e type design is just sooo glorious and instantly timeless while being so worldly recognisable . The Eagle variant is epic . Lovely video as always 👍
Catchpole is my favorite YT automotive journalist because his narration is cerebral without being affected; he engages emotionally with the fabulous cars he drives like a true motorhead should; he is able to explain the technical details in terms we understand; he has genuine, original insights; and, as a pleasant change from the bloated egos in his trade, he makes the video about the car and not about him.
I remember reading about Eagle in a book in the 80s, how they took old e-types and 120s and upgraded them with modern accessories... then about 30 years later they showed up on top gear, they have a LOT of experience doing this.
You should consider a TV show, Mr C. Your pieces are like a work of art. There’s nobody out there who gets cars & how they need to be portrayed on camera like you. Nor has your eloquence. The TG audience isn’t for you, thankfully, but there are a legion of people who crave to see extended pieces of cars such as this. With 11 mins you can’t hope to do a car like this justice. You didn’t mention the number of man hours put into each car, for instance (8000). Just think what you could create with, say, an hours worth, coupled with a series of 6 per year. I don’t know how you manage to create such exquisite videos with the budget you do Carfection on. In fact, when you do the TV series, can you give me a call? I’ll be your runner. Or oil the chain on your bike. Anything.
I really enjoyed this, everything about this video was brilliant, the car, Henry and the videography. I think this goes into one of the best videos from Carfection category 👏🏿

There was one car that I absolutely cherished, and that's the Porsche 911GT3 RS; the manual to be exact. And after this film, now I am in love with two. Eagle have just made the once beautiful Jaguar E-type to look and drive (as you've explained to us in the film) in an absolutely breathtaking way! Good job Eagle for building this car and Henry for showing it to us. I'm both stunned and greatfull!
What an excellent film! You took me along for the ride, and described the feelings and sensations amply, yet succintly. Such a pleasure to just watch and listen.
Utterly breathtaking and so carefully and thoroughly engineered. Huge respect for the talent they must have and the Herculean effort in every aspect of the development and construction.
This would be one of the first bespoke cars I would consider if I had the money. The E-type is one of the smoothest, most luscious cars to ever grace the road.
I must comment on this video, it's not that the Eagle is a stunning car but the production & film quality on this in absolutely fantastic. Well done to all of your team at Carfection👏👏👏
I want to congratulate you on the best, smoothest, soothiest, best produced and edited, and directed reviews on UA-cam... You never disappoint, and always a treat... And what an amazing car, even if it has too many modern bits to my taste... Keep at it sir 🤘

A bit like 'Climb Dance' ?
Came for the car, stayed for the cinematography.

Jeremy Clarkson recently posted a picture of an Eagle Lightweight GT in the same color on his Instagram...
