- Detroit Michigan Downtown Night Walking Tour | UHD 5K 60FPS
Today we Are taking a Walking Tour around Downtown Detroit Michigan. We will be sightseeing
from Downtown Detroit, The Riverwalk, and then head to Greek Town.
Downtown Detroit:
Downtown Detroit is the central business district and a residential area of the city of Detroit, Michigan, United States. Detroit is the major city in the larger Metro Detroit region. Downtown Detroit is bordered by M-10 (Lodge Freeway) to the west, Interstate 75 (I-75, Fisher Freeway) to the north, I-375 (Chrysler Freeway) to the east, and the Detroit River to the south. The city's main thoroughfare M-1 (Woodward Avenue) links Downtown to Midtown, New Center, and the North End.
Downtown contains much historic architecture and many of the prominent skyscrapers in Detroit, including the Renaissance Center, the Penobscot Building, One Detroit Center, and the Guardian Building. Historic churches, theatres, and commercial buildings anchor the various downtown districts. Downtown has a number of parks including those linked by a promenade along the International Riverfront. Its central square is Campus Martius Park.
In recent years the downtown area has seen tremendous growth and redevelopment. Since 2000 a number of major construction projects have been completed including the new Compuware Headquarters at Campus Martius Park and two new stadiums: Comerica Park and Ford Field. General Motors moved their headquarters into the Renaissance Center, and the Detroit Lions have relocated from Pontiac to Downtown Detroit. High-profile events like the 2005 MLB All-Star Game, Super Bowl XL, and the 2006 and 2012 World Series have taken place in downtown, generating income for local businesses and spurring more growth.[1] As a result, new residents are moving into Detroit in the assortment of new lofts that are opening. An example of these trends is the Westin Book-Cadillac Hotel. In 2006, the Cleveland-based Ferchill Group began the $180 million redevelopment of the historic Book Cadlliac Hotel at the corner of Washington Blvd. and Michigan Avenue. The project, which has been hailed by preservationists houses a 455-room Westin Hotel, 67 high-end condominiums, and two to three restaurants, and some miscellaneous retail serving hotel and conference center guests. DTE Energy Headquarters features an urban oasis of parks, walkways, and a reflecting pool.[2]

Detroit is beautiful
Nah. /
@@jordanjohnson9866 Yes it is
Miss my city, Detroit. Born and raised.
Omg! This journey is so wonderful and immersive. I am grateful for all your work that you share with us on UA-cam! Please keep sharing! Thanks!
DETROIT MICHIGAN STRIKINGLY BEAUTIFUL ❤️ PROUD OF MYSELF
For what?
I’m proud of you too. Thank you!
Detroit has a nice Weather, fresh summer 🌞and cold Winter ❄️🧊👍
NIce. Way better than Downtown Los Angeles... by a lot.
100%
Really? I’ve never been.
Detroit has REALLY turned it around, much love to the Motor City. Can't wait to go back this Summer.
Welcome back!
I'm in love with this city❤
Nice walking tour, thanks.
Good stuff. Thank you 🙏🏻
Really nice city and hi from Malaysia! Subscribed😀
Cool video nice tour of the very center of downtown. If you come back hop on the Q-Line street car it will take you up Woodward into uptown and back. Lots to see and do along the way there’s also the elevated rail that loops around downtown for a higher view. Both are very inexpensive options for getting around.
what a great Video.
I'm Your Fan
very cool sounds
I really enjoy your videos. Great work as always.
Wow, Detroit is so clean and beautiful.... people keep saying shit about Detroit , why ?
Ignorance is why.. and from people who’ve never set foot anywhere in Michigan.
Good video
Where is the river front and Hart Plaza? It’s steps away….
nice video! i really wanna visit detroit but im kinda scared of flying from europe haha
no homeless camps like in SF or LA
I'm a Detroiter and honestly, if I seen homeless camps in downtown LA and SF I would be amazed and kinda shocked by it, downtown Detroit has never been a good place for the homeless
The city is soo beautiful but man is it empty.
That's crazy. There's no one out there.
must be a weekday because the weekends are nuts
Where the people are?
THIS CITY LOOKS SO EMPTY....WHY ARE THERE SUCH LESS PEOPLE ON THE ROADS??
We like it that way!
its a weekday weekends are crazy busy
It's a weekday, the weekends/events be bustling trust me.
Where is the crime then? I would not be scared walking there.
Where is everyone tho?
Lack of density = lack of people
As a lifelong Detroiter this is basically how it is most nights unless there is a Tigers/Wings/Lions game or some other happening like a big concert going on, atleast on week nights. Particularly since the rise of people working from home instead of going into the office. Before then it was a little busier but now during the week you only really have people that live downtown hanging out there and there aren't many of us atleast compared to cities like NYC, Chicago, Philly etc.
During the weekend though and when a sporting event is going on where you get some of the millions of folks from the suburbs come down here it can get really crazy. Again though not as crazy as the aforementioned cities but that is to be expected since we just don't have that kinda population and nowhere near the amount of tourists.
@@Murdn the buildings are huge, and surely people live there? I've seen more life in rural towns. Not critizing I like the quietness, just found it very odd, almost looks like a scene of constructed capitals such as in Turkmenistan
@Toonomics Detroit has a higher population density then many other major cities (Dallas, Houston, ATL, Phenoix, ect)
@@janjensen3220on the weekend it's nuts but it's pretty calm at night on the weeknights because downtown Detroit historically is a business center which means most buildings aren't residential. In the past 15 years they've been building more residential buildings downtown but still need more. Alot of downtown American cities are like this on weeknights for that reason. Even parts of Manhattan, go to the Wall st area at night and it's pretty empty because all those buildings are commercial.
