I'm going to make a pinned comment here to add to the description a little more in depth; This is a combination version of 3 separate versions of "Double Beat 9000;" -SCV 2009 Version (This is the legato eights intro, that's about all I took from the SCV version since I was more of a fan of the endings of the Chino Hills version) -Chino Hills 2016 Version (Pretty much the bulk of the entire warm-up, the flub part is from Chino Hills) -Pittsburg Steelers Drumline (This is where the cymbals part comes from, that's about all I took from this version) -Note that what I wrote for the sextet tenors is my adaptation since the originally is not written for 2 spocks, I wrote it myself to accommodate for 2 spocks. I used MuseScore and specifically MDL (MuseScore Drumline) to accomplish this piece, for more specific instrumentation I used; -MDL Snareline -MDL Tenorline -MDL Flubs -MDL Bassline 5 -Cymbals (Normal MuseScore cymbals) Link to MuseScore page: musescore.com/j_d_gardea/double-beat-9000 This version is free for anyone to play, feel free to adapt it however you like, I added in the Chino Hills tap off from their 2017 in the lot video so feel free to play this however you like. (Link to MDL Download if you do not have MDL: musescore.org/en/node/273636 )
Me and the other snare in my line learned this in the hopes that the whole line could do it in the stands or in the lot for fun, but no one else bothered. RIP.
This is just like fighting your arch nemesis while swinging on vines through the jungle but your about to be burned alive and you need to escape the evil lair before you run out of oxygen.
I think you have to use the most up to date version of both musescore and MDL, in the old version the buzzes are only cosmetic, but in the new version there are playable buzzes in the "Tremolo" section of the palette. I also played around with articulations to try and get the most realistic sounds for the buzzing, make sure not to use more than one dynamic on the note that is being buzzed or else it will cancel out the buzz.
my line tried learning this (i play tenors) and of course the basses got mad that we couldn’t play it because their part is quite literally the easiest thing i’ve ever seen. for tenors we couldn’t get past 112 bpm

the bass hits were sick, I want to hear this with 808 drum machine sounds
That would somehow be both horrifying and oddly intriguing at the same time
I really wish we had the first 10 measures like this one. Sounds so good.
Me and the other snare in my line learned this in the hopes that the whole line could do it in the stands or in the lot for fun, but no one else bothered. RIP.
I did the same thing with the tenor player in my drumline, but nobody else cared to learn either.

How do you get the buzzes to actually play on musescore? My version refuses to have half of the notation actually do anything.
Are you using MDL? If yes, make sure you're all the way up to date. If that still isn't working then probably pray to satan or something idk
@@matthewheim3853 I've never heard of MDL and as such haven't used it, but I do think I've got a spare goat somewhere around here. Thanks.
mdl is musescore drumline, it should be available through the downloads page as a soundfont if i remember correctly

sick nasty brother
I really like the accordion notation for the snare playing zones lol
I learned the quad part and I'm proud lmao
Dang this 🔥
Imagine this as your marching cadence
I love that countoff
Listening to this made my wrists hurt LOL. And I'm not even a drummer.
It’s actually not that bad since most of the notes on the same hand are all diddled, so it’s kind of like getting two or three notes from one hit.
@@benjiboy9907cranking out consistent triples on the right hand hurts like a mf
You deserve more views for this. It’s very impressive, honestly.
I'm gonna try to learn the snare part for this; it seems fun
Sounds way harder then it actually is damn. Maybe I can actually learn this.
Go for it
Yeah not for the guy who has >1 year worth of snare experience who you’re forcing to learn this

This is the Chino hills version right? I think the Vanguard one is a bit different
This is a mixture between both Chino Hills and Vanguard, I used the Legato 8ths intro from the Vanguard Version and the rest is Chino Hills.
Those tenors sound sick. Is this Muse?
Thank you hit artist Dmitri Shostakovich
Yep this is MDL, I used the "Tenor Line" instrument.
