On a French artillery theme... Check out a BBC documentry called Hero and Villains about Napoleon. It is the BEST portrayal of period artillery I have ever seen... they look like they are live firing !
Thanks. The British gun carriages are a light grey blue so I base coat them with that then follow the same process here. The British crew colours are still blue with red facings but alot more piping on the uniform which I always do as a gold/yellow 👍
Blimey Martin your presentation style has changed as much as your painting style... great stuff
Haha this is an oldie now 😁 I remember doing this one, took a few attempts
Very nicely done figures mate.

Go for it, the more cannons the better👍😉
great job!!! Really enjoyed the video...what size base did you use...I'm finding a hard time getting the dimensions of the artillery bases...
Thanks very much 😃 these ones are on 50mm x 70mm i believe but i vary mine depending on the number of crew 👍
Interesting video, I like the mud effect. What size is the base?
Thanks, the mud can be used in so many ways to create interesting bases. The mdf base is 60 x 70mm and is 2mm thick.
Great tutorial! BTW what brush do you use?
Thanks 👍 i use a mixture of army painter and windsor and newton
