  • Hi Arowana Fish Lovers,
I welcome you all to my channel Blue Aquatics.
I believe you all are doing well.
Friends, my today's topic is that what could be the possible causes due to which your beloved Arowana Fish is sitting at the bottom of the tank.
Many say that the Arowana Fish is in stress because of which it is sitting at the bottom but friends do you know there are some other reasons as well due to which Arowana Fish is sitting at the bottom of the tank.
Think you visited an aquarium shop where you find an Arowana fish which is swimming happily there. You immediately purchased that Arowana fish, spent a lot, came back to your home, and set up that new Arowana into your home aquarium and what you see? The Arowana which was swimming happily in the shop is sitting at the bottom of the tank. you tried a lot of things for some days but not get succeeded.
Another possibility, your Arowana Fish is swimming happily into the tank when no one is near to the tank. Whenever you come near to the tank then it stops swimming and sits at the bottom of the tank as you can see in this video also.
So friends, if you are also facing an issue that your beloved Arowana fish is sitting at the bottom then this video is really helpful for you all and I am sure that after watching this complete video from start to end you will be able to know the actual root cause and the solution for that cause because in this video I am going to cover the maximum number of possibilities due to which Arowana Fish sits at the bottom of the tank and how to overcome those possibilities.
So let's start with each possibility one by one and the proper solution to overcome it.
    1. Water Parameters: Friends, always check your water parameters first before doing any treatment. The maximum of the fish diseases is because of poor water quality only. If your Ammonia level is high or crossing the standards as required by the Arowana Fish then there are chances that your Arowana Fish will be sitting at the bottom.
    2. Moved in the new tank: Friends this is again one of the possibilities due to which your Arowana Fish is sitting at the bottom of the tank. See either you have purchased a new Arowana or you are shifting your Arowana from one tank to the other, then in both the cases you are providing the new environment. So due to this, your Arowana gets stressed and sits at the bottom.
    3. Tank Mates: Friends this is a very serious issue with the Arowana fish. Always check for the suitable fishes which can live with your Arowana Fish. Don't add fishes which you like, only add fishes which your Arowana Fish like and are compatible with the Arowana Fish.
    4. Lightning: Friends, this is also one of the main possibilities due to which Arowana Fish can sit at the bottom of the tank. It is always suggested to never turn on aquarium lights if it's too dark. Always turn on your room lights first. Let the fish get adjusted with the room light and after 4-5 minutes turn on the aquarium lights.
    5. Water Temperature not as per the requirement: Arowana Fish loves to live in a water Temperature ranging between 26 degrees Celcius to 30 degrees Celcius. If the water is too cold for the Arowana Fish then also it can create problems and if it's too warm then also problems and could be one of the possibility dues to which Arowana fish sits at the bottom of the tank.
    6. Less Oxygen: Although Arowana Fish is considered as a hard fish, if there is not proper aeration in the tank then it can cause an issue with the Arowana Fish.
    7. In stress because of living alone: Friends, if you have kept Arowana Fish alone in the tank then might be possible it is afraid of something because of living alone and whenever you come near to your Arowana Fish-tank it sits at the bottom after watching you.
    8. The last point is that - might be possible your Arowana Fish is doing some rest. It is not possible that your Arowana Fish can swim 24 by 7 continuously. It also needs some rest. So for taking rest your Fish can sit at the bottom and not swimming.
    Conclusion:
Friends as long as the water parameters are according to the Arowana Fish requirements and your Arowana Fish are eating well, then everything is fine. It does not matter that your Arowana Fish is active or inactive.
Every Arowana Fish have their own unique personality or you can say temperament ... some are aggressive, some are timid, some are hyperactive, some are lazy.
Check all the points discussed in this video carefully and then only take any decision to make your Arowana Fish swims at the top of the water surface.
