@@Lionsandtruth I'm not worried about Cormani McClain(talent wise), there is a rumor out there that (Colorado) coaches can track the amount of time players watch in film study, McClain is rumored to have watched "zero" hours of film. That's an attitude problem with the player himself. He has to be at least willing to roll up his sleeves and put the work in during the time when coaches aren't allowed to be around, the onus then falls upon himself and other teammates to motivate and hold each other accountable.

The reality is the entire DB unit at CU were subpar due to dated coaching from Mathis n Prime could barely walk so he wasn’t even in the right physical health to coach up the DB unit. Travis was good in cover 2 but horrendous in man press which is what was required from the DB unit. All of their stances n technique were off, dated which is why all of them got beat the same way off the line. Livingston is the one that told Cormani his stance/technique from high school was right n what he was doing at CU is what was getting him beat but we all know Livingston don’t have no real power over that defense. Cormani moving on with his career was best for his development n Coach Will is a proven coach that’s put guys in the league, that’s changed entire defenses in the rankings

I don’t think he was worthy of the 5-star grade as a high school recruit, as 5-star implies that a player should be able to immediately step on the field Year 1 as a freshman. He’s a big name, but don’t think he’s better than any of the other CBs in our DB room. Reminds me of when Demarkcus Bowman transferred in from Clemson, and despite being a 5-star recruit out of high school (ironically, also from Lakeland High School), he fell to the bottom of the depth chart and was beat out by a true freshman Trevor Etienne and transferred out before the 2022 season. He’s undersized for the SEC, needs to add significant size to his frame, much the same way Mizell needed to last year. His entitlement attitude is his downfall, and I don’t think that he has the same drive or work ethic as a 2 or 3 star walk on that is fighting for a roster spot. Sometimes recruiting services whiff on ratings and rankings, and I think that was the case here with Cormani. He will be considered a college bust due to his high ranking coming out of high school, might get a shot eventually in the league as an UDFA or late round draft pick, but he’s not determined to succeed the same way a Ja’Keem Jackson or Teddy Foster is. I’d love to be proven wrong, but I don’t expect to be.

I think Cormani needs a second chance. If he is recruited to UF then the discussion that is paramount to have is will he do the work necessary that will take advantage of his talent. Football is a team sport. Yes he would be 1/11th of the defense but he would be relied upon to follow the game plan, watch film study and contribute to the defense overall at his position. If it turns out that he is the weak link on the team, other coaches will expose it. This hurts his chances to make it to the NFL if this is his goal. His high school coach and Coach Prime have both expressed that he is currently at this moment not committed as a student athlete. Pressure is part of the game at the collegiate level. Handling it requires a mindset that is focused and determined. He certainly can develop this but I just do not see it happening currently. If you are going to let him sit out then he does no good to the team overall. I think of the analogy of building wooden table, you want the best pieces and not dead wood in its construction.
I think he is very talented with a gift that is GOD and his Momma given but he does not seem to understand nor at the moment get what it takes to become a team player that follows directions. If the young man couldn't do it under Coach Prime I am just having a hard time seeing his outlook on the game and his commitment change. I do hope that UF does recruit him. I just think we will see the same attitude and lack of commitment when he arrives there. I hope that I am wrong. But as I always say, you can lead a horse to water.... Will Cormani Drink! This is left to be determined.

All good questions. Hopefully, he will chose to become coachable and accountable. Or, he might just be trying to skate through the three years necessary before declaring for the draft. In other words, his 5 star high school recruiting ranking alone will be irrelevant by that point in regards to the NFL draft.

He came from hall of fame coaching and they let him go. You say that he's coming to a program with an NFL coach and a father figure? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. If he was cutting up at Colorado, then how do you think he'll act being at home around the same people who have baby sat him to no good? I hope that he takes full advantage of his second chance because there won't be a third 💯💯💯

@@Lionsandtruth at the end of the day this is a business, coaches move all the time. If it takes a coach to push you to the next level and not your skills or talent.............boooooooyyyyyy it's gonna be hard for him in the NFL. If he's hungry for his career and it takes a coach to keep you in line..........man he needs to go back to Polk County and sit on the porch and eat oranges 🍊. No one has to motivate what you love..........no one. If it's in you your gonna be unstoppable. Trust me I want him to win, but his mom needs to take his pamper off and let him grow and evolve into the man he needs to be. These are not babies they are grown men!! He made the decision trying to be smart to make that video with his slick comments. Soooooooo I guess the high school coaches are lying? This guy was at lake Gibson high-school with this same attitude. He left and played for lakeland high his senior year. I talked to one of his team mates Saturday and he said CM was wilding out so come on make it make sense. So everybody telling a lie? He has a agent...........for what he's still in the portal. He still gonna sit the first year and that was his problem at CU. To much talent stacked in the same place. You have to prove your the man and the 5 stars he suppose to be. Yeah he's visiting the gators today but in life as an adult second chances do not come that often. As a race we're already behind the eight ball so we don't have to many opportunities to mess up.
