Just bought mine from my suki garden center. Was planning to buy birds of paradise but the lutea captured my eyes. The staff said it can tolerate direct sun. I even joked about returning the plant when the leaves get burnt because the owner said I should place it in shade. Buti na lang I saw your video, sir. I will place mine in our front yard which is also the deadspot. Fingers crossed, they will thrive. Thank you!
Bcoz of this video I will be putting my calathea luthea outside. Bcoz my calathea luthea is not really happy inside our house. I will repot it in 2 different pots since I have 2 plants in one pot. So whenever it will grow another plant it has enough space inside the pot. Thanks for this wonderful idea.
Thank you so much sir for this video. I had my 2 calathea lutea for over 3 months now. I was a bit worried for the edges started to crisp. I put them in a well shaded area but I've learned from this vid that these plants love direct sunlight. I am also thinking of transferring them to a bigger pot. That aha! moment when you transplant them 😊 very useful tips. Thanks! I've learned a lot from you.
Plant care Lighting -Very bright to direct light. Can handle direct sunlight Soil -Well-draining soil if indoors, if outdoors it isn’t picky and can handle ordinary garden soil Watering -outdoor: it is self-sustaining once mature -indoors: limit watering to avoid root rot
Good morning Sir Pinoy Plantito, thank you for sharing this calathea luthea plant care tips, though i don't have one yet, hopefully someday i could have one soon, kng pwd lng bilhin ko na yng nirepot mo Sir, layo nyo nman kc😁😁😁. Have a great day and enjoy gardening😊😊😊🌱🌱🌱💚💚💚
What kind of soil are they planted on? Would need plants like these for my garden in the Philippines, very nice plants for a nice backdrop. Another nice video.
I live in Malaysia so it gets extremely hot in the afternoons and we have this plant in our garden in direct sun just absolutely thriving. Then you have articles online telling you MUST place them in in-direct sun 😂
Are these like regular Calathea and spider mite magnets? In Florida we have mites really bad, the nature predators do get them but they’re kinda always there. Mealies too?
Thank you very informative.my CL came from a nursery 24 hours ago on a pot without drainage. Should I repot today or wait for a week so plant can get acclimatized? Can I use aroid soilless mix or C&S potting mix (that's all I have)?big thanks in advance for your assistance. God bless 🙏
i think u can repot it if it appears stabke and wasnt transported over long distance. If its indoors best to ise a weel draining soil with the biggest percentagetaken by regular soil. no need for strictly aroid mix

Thanks for this information!
You must be really fluent in English unlike me. Anyway its because more than 60% of my viewers are from non filipino speaking countries. So i am just being considerate to them anyway marami namng filipinos are like u: very fluent in english
