UPDATE:
Hey everyone, I’m getting the new EOX in the coming days, so there will be a sequel to this video showing how things have moved on 🤓
it is shockingly difficult to find decent review of motorcycle gear on YT and this one was great. Informative and enjoyable to watch. Thanks man
Thank you! Got a review of the roadskin Easyrider hoodie incoming too ;)
Keep em coming! subscribed 👍
this is the exact kind of no bs review I was looking for
Glad to be of service 🫡 share far and wide
I have watched your two Ruroc reviews and thanks to you ,,it has helped me greatly to finely diced to buy a new Ruroc Atlas 4.0 ,,its been a total minefield wading through the helmets out there on the market ,,so thank you .
Thanks man! That’s exactly what the channel is about so glad it helped
Enjoy the new helmet
Great review, was looking at this as a second helmet to my Shoei X-SPR Pro as I think I've gone over kill to use with my Harley
Thanks for the honest review 💯
Very welcome my friend!
I still use this helmet daily so it’s held up
Ruroc saved my life from when i went into a mini van
You drive with a helmet on?
@dannyhart7513 it’s the law here my friend
@@TorOnTour 🤣 just hope he’s alright
@@dannyhart7513Lol who doesnt?
any other premium helmet would aswell...
Great review and concur with virtually everything you commented on. Great looks, superb comfort, no issues with vision for me. Do have a few minor quality snags but need to look closely for them, and the Shockwave system, in my humble opinion, is garbage. Would I buy another? Probably yes, but I’d be looking for those small improvements in finish to completely hook me.
Good to hear we are on the same page!
So close to being great, couple of tweaks and it would’ve been perfect!
The 4.0 was the first ruroc helmet that got me excited holding it for the first time. I ride with prescription glasses and the helmet is snug but not too snug around my glasses that happens with other helmets and will give me a headache about 20 minutes into a ride. I’m excited to see how the 5.0 improves upon the Atlas family
Great video with great editing.
Thanks man! Lot of love and effort went into this one
awesome review!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great review. Nailed all the key points pretty well.
I’ve been cross shopping helmets in this style.
Wanted a Simpson but found them too expensive for what you’re getting.
Scorpion Convert FX was the current choice due to price.
But this now looks like a solid option to spend a bit more.
I’d recommend it, has its flaws but it’s a pretty solid choice
Great video mate, well done.
Thanks my friend
Great Video Worth a Subscribe for sure Thanks for being honest
This video is professionally done. How comes you have so little subs??
I wish I knew my friend! If you have any friends point them my way and get them to sub 😂🫡
Just picked one of these up on a 'pre' black Friday sale. Just got back from an hour long ride and I must say I am impressed...especially for what I paid. It's replacing a 6 year old AGV.
Was the sizing accurate to the website?
I went a size up from what I normally wear.
I second the comments about out of reach buttons. As you say one button and voice control would be best, or relocate to somewhere within easy reach.
I disagree with the vision being compromised by rhe raised centre section, I have not notice that yet, having only used it for 2 approx 4 hour sessions, in the uk.
The buttons are almost pointless when you’ve got your gloves on
I’ve learned to adjust the helmet even when it’s on, titling it to minimise the vision problem, it was really prevalent until I learned to do that
I love it
Ive had mine for about 8 months now, the sizing was challanging. Ive always worn L helmets so trying to choose either M/L or L/XL was a differcult decision. Ended up with L/XL. It fits fine but do think i should have gone for M/L as it can shift around slightly. Other issues is the visor is super stiff to open and the wind noise is insane after 40 mph, im aware that it could be the fact the lids too big for me but i dont know. Does anyone know if the new ruroc track helmet visor seals fit the atlas 4.0? The new seals they are selling are meant to stop wind noise and wondering if they would fit the old helmets, thanks.
It does fit the 4.0, but unsure on if it’ll solve your problem there
I found the best cure for wind noise with my old helmet was a neck scarf weirdly enough!
@@TorOnTour i second that ! Actually with pretty much any Helmet if you were something directly under it, like a scarf, it should lessen the noise
Got mine after 2 years of hesitating, when there was a promotion on it where shockwave was free i decided to get one. The helmet itself is awesome, goodcomfort, awesome looks, shockwave was great. Then i bought a harley sportster s and now the shockwave wont connect. It does pair but no connection... bit of a bummer. My cardo connects just fine.
If i would have know this i´d wait for another promotion like reduced price, but the shockwave... nah.
No regret getting it tho, jorgungmandr just looks to damm good 😀
You did the same as me! I bought when the shockwave thing was on, so considering I paid nothing extra for it I’m fairly happy. I’m going to be using the included mic for the next video too so we’ll see how that goes
Nice bike! Ive had the pleasure of riding one and will be riding a nightster special on the next video
I've had my Ruroc Atlas 4.0 for almost a year now. I agree it is a uncomfortably tight out of box fit but after the first couple of trips around town every thing really took shape to the ole noggin and it has been exceptionally comfortable. I dislike the visor pins as they have to be completely removed to take the visor off and switch them out, which is a pain. Heaven forbid you try to do this and drop one of them. I have the shockwave installed and it is fine for music and phone calls as long as you are good with not being able to find your buttons while wearing gloves. I mainly got the shockwave because I prefer not having things attached to the outside of my helmet and wish other helmet manufacturers had similar built in systems.
I hope that they get a Snell certification next because these have been a marked improvement on the Atlas 3.0 and look forward to the future lineups that will be offered.
agree with everything you said.
Should I get ruroc atlas 4.0 track edition or pista gp rr? I also wear glasses. What’s the best overall?
Pista is a track helmet as far as I know plus price point is a lot higher than a atlas 4.0 track.
Got mine in today but it was too tight, even with the measuring tool. Sending it back soon to get one size up. The helmet feels great in terms of weight (got the carbon version with the free shockwave deal) and looks good although the flat black one seems to get fingerprints easily. Getting my first bike lesson in october, getting gear as time goes by. Cant wait 😄
I found it really tight to start with but it’s conformed to my head now it’s much easier to get on and off :)
@@TorOnTour yeah i really struggled to put it on or take it off and i could bite the inside of my cheeks (the cheeks in my mouth, for context) with how tight it was. My head is 60cm so at the end range of M/L. Im aware that the cushioning will set in after aprox. 20 hours of wearin but my dad who rode bikes from his twenties into his 40s recommended I'd size up. Did you have the same issue by any chance?
Also, loved the video. Great humor, great narrative and great memery 😄
That's one of my issues with the helmet. The padding does not last. That same helmet that was tight and hard to put on will be loose on your head within a year. I promise, I owned one.
@@larryhouse3776 hmmm, i got the new one in thia week and it felt more snug.. i just checkes thw website and they can be bought for 45 euros. Ofc you want the whole helmet to last at least 5 years but even replacing the pads wouldnt set you back too much
I found it really snug at first but after watching a Ryan F9 video tried it with a snood on. Game changer! Amazing lid but yes the shockwave buttons are a ball ache. They should ditch the chain app for a remote control on your phone.
Best video I’ve seen on this helmet, felt like an idiot for liking it as much as I have then I realized we’re all dorks on 2 wheels
Glad you enjoyed it my friend, we are indeed dorks but the best kind of dorks
I’ve been considering making a year on follow up of what it’s been like living with this helmet 🤔
I have a 2.0 and was using their measurements but was lightly too big in a XXL compared at my icon at XL but now they have a 4.0 and was wondering should I just order the XL since the XXL on the 2.0 was to big
Go on their website mate they list size based on a tape measurement of your head, wouldn’t order until you do this as size seems to be a common problem
@@TorOnTour that's what did the first time and was to big
The new ones a totally different size due to ece 22.06
Just pop your measurements in this thing
www.ruroc.com/en_gb/sizing-guide
I have the 2.0, 3.0 and most recently the 4.0
Ruroc has really made an effort to continue the development and so far I haven't noticed anything negative.
All in all, you have made a very honest and appropriate review!
(I would be happy to welcome you as a new subscriber to my chanel ;))
Thanks man, lot of work went into this one
Subbed :)
Did you have the same size for all three?
I think the rheon isn't available on the street atlas 4.0 version
i have the 4.0 shadow sprite - to start it was very hard to put on and take off the pin lock aint a great fit and after a few months most off the seals are coming away and at motorway speed its load
i agree motorway speeds its no better than my old cheap helmet
How do you even use the shockwave thing? Reaching around the back while riding is gonna be a bit hard
I say this in the video, it’s basically un-usable with gloves on
do they pass through the safety standsards?
Yes, ece 22.06
There’s a section on safety in the video
Im fortunate to have seen the Sons of Anarchy finale otherwise I would have been pissed 😂
It’s been about 10 years 😂😂
@@TorOnTour I know 😅 but I actually know people who are watching it for the first time which is crazy to me, I've watched it about 5 times aha
Tell them not to watch this video 😂😂😂
About the same, you’ll love the next video then, it’s SOA focused :)
I like mine. They even through the shockwave in for free. They do offer a military discount. The 4.0 is a rather large bucket compared to my Arai.
I got mine with the same shockwave deal. I’ve had an issue with my shockwave recently - it won’t turn off 😂😂 have been thinking of doing a one year on review
Anyone else take the cheek pads out to wash or to install speakers and now the pads don't clip in like they did when it was brand new? Taking the helmet on and off the chin skirt comes out and the cheek pads don't unbutton but the slide in clips become dislodged... Anyone else?
I’ve not had this issue with the cheek pads however the chin cover/ wind sock has never clipped back in properly
Those who are looking to get a helmet and were thinking of the Atlas 4.0; let it be known that some race tracks in the US require you to have Snell rated helmets to race their tracks, which the Atlas 4.0 does not have.
Good info, didn’t know that!
I was at a evolve gt track event and one of the brand new riders was unable to ride at all because he had a ruroc
The nose bridge visibility is subjective, and depends on the comfort position you place the helmet. I've a Go Pro mounted on the chin, and while I do see the forward edge of that, I do not see the nose bridge, with or without the camera. The peripheral is what sold Ruroc to me. Being able to notice 95% of my helmet-less vision in the peripheral, outshines every one of my other "big name" lids....and I do have too many!
The 4.0 comes with an "improved" cushion system. For me, that meant it simply did not fit. The crush of the pads on my face, was horrendous, and I put it back in the box, not to be worn again for nearly a year. Looking at the website, it dawned on me that every Atlas shell used the same MOUNTING system for the liners, and looking at the STREET pads, in contrast to the CARBON pads that come with the 4.0 Carbon, gave me the notion to order STREET pads. And , I'm glad I did! The booger oozing face squeeze was gone, and the helmet now slipped on smooth and easy, but retained ALL of the contact points around my weird head shape. It has become my favorite lid to wear for long distance riding, due to comfort and fit.
Glad to hear your ups and downs with this helmet, it’s been a long while since I made this and living with it has made me appreciate it and also notice its shortcomings more and more as time has gone on
Good review!
I've owned mine for a little over a year ish now I think. Kind of have to get a size up or expect to have it be larger than your usual helmet. Comfort is fine but I wish I had a little bit more air flow in there for those hot, humid days.
It took a long time to arrive at my house and the visors themselves do as well unfortunately so I've been riding around with fairly scuffed visors. My clear visor doesn't have a complete seal so there's a lot of wind that leaks through as well as rain from time to time but the smoked visor is fine. The pinlock is great due to keeping fogging down. So I'd say quality and comfort is fairly good as well as peripheral vision.
The Shockwave..... big waste of money. Audio is *okay* at best but talking to people I sounded robotic. To make matters worse, you can't really easily press all the buttons on the back unless you have cruise control or don't mind letting go. It also doesn't pair AT ALL with the Indian Ride Command no matter how hard you try. I ended up going with a Sena 50S after that and it was great (until it rains...) just don't get it if you're an all weather rider. With regards to that, resistance to weather is just about the only good thing about the shockwave.
Agree with everything you said!
a whole review minues the design shape of the helmet is it intermediate oval round oval which is it?
I’ll be honest I have no idea what you’re asking mate
It’s comfortable on my head, I’d say mines a long oval?
intermediate oval
i was thinking of getting a EOX but its just to expenisve for me. I mean i get my first 125ccm bike in some weeks and with 16 a 550 dollar helmet is just fucked up. And i LOVE your cutting style
Eox review is coming soon 🤓🤓
Btw, hv u try under rain? 🙂
Yeah it’s fine with an pinlock and some rainx in the outside of the visor
The issue is noise. Even without a sound system, a rider will absolutely contract hearing damage over time. Riding without earplugs is folly. Riding without plugs, letting the wind roar rip your ears apart and then blasting music at volumes high enough to drown out that already destructive noise is kind of nuts. I do like the looks of the helmet, and there needs to be more aggressive looking designs for the crowd that demands that.
I agree
I live in a city so I rarely need to go over 45-55mph, so in those instances the wind isn’t too bad
At 70 it is tho!
Shame theu dont have have a inbuilt set of sunshades like hjc etc thay you can slide up and down when needed
would be nice because ive been caught out riding late and wished i had the clear visor on
So they don't actually use custard? Man, I don't know if it's for me then.
I’m sure if you ask them they’ll put a special order in for you
Armbands are an optional extra though
@@TorOnTour subbed
I would say the biggest down fall of your video, was trying to hear you over the music in the first half, and that you didn't touch on not having a drop down sun visor, which I think is very important and it kind of ruins the ruroc for me.
Otherwise, thanks for all the useful info, am looking at buying so really wanted to know what people thought, cheers 👍
I know, and you’re completely right. Music and sound levels is a focus point for me going forward from this video
I guess I didn’t think about the drop down visor because I have the full size tinted one on, but it’s a good point
Thank you for your feedback, it is appreciate ;)
Great review buddy. I have just purchased the new Ruroc eox helmet which arrives tomorrow 😀. Are you going to do review on that ?. Subscribed 👍👍
Stay tuned my Eox review is coming soon 🤓🤓🤓😝
I just threw mine away. I got a scorpion FX instead.
Sorry but not sorry, There was too many issues with my 4.0 atlas falling apart and the cheek pads are rough af.
Fair enough pal, they seem to have some hit and miss build quality
Can’t complain on mine bar that weird seam at the bottom that bugs me.
Can’t go wrong with a scorpion 👍🏻🤘🏻
@@TorOnTour at first it wasn’t too bad.
The older shockwave I didn’t have too many complaints about, the drivers sounded good to me.
It’s just the front visor plastic knob I would have to slam my visor down just for it to lock and eventually the plastic gave way and doesn’t lock properly anymore.
The rubber silicone gasket came off on me while riding and wrapped around my neck since of course there wasn’t anywhere else for it to go. I just gorilla glued it back into place.
My two biggest issues were the EPS foam popping out of position and was just I guess “loose” in the shell at all given times. Going about 75-80 mph on my Harley 48 I could hear the creaks and groans when hitting bumps.
The other issue is those odd side vents. They’re not functional vents and without buying (if they offer them) vent plugs it make a definite turbulence sound when riding.
@@ramblinjay3816 so apparently they don’t make a noticeable difference when taped off to airflow and therefore sound
I thought they would but I’ve seen someone do the data
Definitely need to up the build quality and make use of those slots for shockwave controls 👍🏻
@@TorOnTour yeah. Regardless I still love how they look which is why I went with another helmet that had the ruroc aesthetics in a sense.
I’ll give it to the company that they do look badass. I had the hallow edition.
@@ramblinjay3816 maybe they’ll get your vote back by the time atlas 5.0/6.0 rolls around
The nose thing doesn't bother me one bit. I ride with prescription glasses and the visibility is the best I've ever seen. My Atlas 4.0 is far better helmet for me compared to my Arai Corsair X, funnily enough!
I’m going to call this the marmite helmet from now on 😂
My only concern was the safety
nah, the moment they start using the brand in gp we can have a talk
would be interesting
Feeling attacked about the Facebook marketplace 125😭

Thanks man, I’ll keep making more then!
Good lord. Cool it with the music. This was verging on unwatchable at times.
Too loud or just not your type of music?
👍🌹
it's noisey. Those pockets on the sides are making most of the noise. Dunno why they put them in there. Visor doesn't move easily. blutooth is not as loud as I would like since I wear plugs too. I'm selling mine somehow.
Those pockets on the sides are not functional and are made in decorative purposes and does not have opening inside of the helmet...
@@didiwoock5596 That is correct, but they still make noise. Noise goes away when you put your hand up to it, so they are just not needed.
I'll stay with Shoei.....
No issue, very very good helmet maker 🤘🏻
It's a helmet. What is there to say really? Does it offer any tech like head up display? Bluetooth connection to phone? Sat Nav? No? Nothing?
It does have Bluetooth connection to a phone if you have the ruroc yes, which is how I get my Audi sat nav and music :)
You’d be better off duck taping pudding cups to your head.

@@TorOnTour I know right 👍 Probably because I love helmets like Arai in terms of shape and design, very clean and classic and this Ruroc is definitely the opposite of what I like 😆
If you watch the unboxing video you’ll see someone agrees with you!
@@TorOnTour I will do 👍
My main problem with Ruroc is the way they sell the helmet. The on-line only may work for some but this is a piece of safety gear that has to fit properly to work . I have seen too many people with ill fitting helmets that have been purchased on-line because they are cheaper . I also like to try before I buy not unreasonable when the helmet is a £400 purchase so until they are stocked in shops I will not be buying one .
It's ugly.
😂😂 I should’ve done a 6 second review and just said that
Thumbs down for the spoiler.
Sorry man didn’t know you were still in 2013
Worst helmet I have ever owned
Had dozens as I have been riding for over 40 years and I actually collect helmets.
You can tell its a cheap Chinese helmet the noisiest I have ever owned and worst quality
I’ve come from a cheap no frills £100 helmet so I feel the upgrade, I can see why you’d feel the other way round if you’ve had better ones
They’re literally the worst helmet maker on the planet. I would get my helmet from wish first. They do not safety test their helmets.
They do safety test the helmets. There's literally footage on UA-cam of them crash testing it in a machine
Dude, research before you comment.
@@flibbertigibbet6200 I’ve done plenty of research, and Ruroc is still the worst manufacturer on the planet. They’re shitty helmets that aren’t safe. Their CEO literally said they let their customers test the helmets by wearing them. 🤡
if youre going to use music my guy, you have to mix it well with the audio. the volume is over your voice at times and sometime just on par with it so its annoying to listen to. make it more of a background noise.
I agree ny friend, that was the biggest downfall of this vid
I’ve learned a lot since then :) go watch my latest video and you’ll see the difference!
