Your high elevation allows you to fish in August in 93 degree weather. Here in Dallas it’s 104 and humid. You’re even wearing dark clothes! Dark clothes in Dallas is a death sentence.
Question: I see a lot of videos with people saying to use the baitfish that the catfish are eating in the area you are fishing... how do you know what they are eating without catching one and cutting it open?
Use Louisiana hot sauce I cannot got four last night as soon as it hit the water they were hitting it this was poured onto some chicken scraps most of the fish we caught were too small only four keepers

I have been trying to catch my own Channel Catfish for my pond for ages now at a reservoir by where I live. Anything that helps I'll try.

What they mean is use the bait fish that naturally live in the waters you are fishing in. Don't try using something the fish aren't familiar with
