Littlejohn’s, What is the brand and style of braid rope you are using? It looks like diamond braid. I tried using some KingCord 3/8” diamond braid, but the braid wasn’t tight enough to hold in the lead shot I was using. Maybe the tensile strength of the rope has a correlation with the tightness of the braid? Thanks, Spencer
I went back to the store tonight and found out that they make the diamond braided rope in a “Standard” braid and a “Heavy Duty”. The latter has smaller fibers and consequently a tighter braid, which prevents the shot from escaping the rope. Planning on using these weights for fishing walleyes in very rocky, snaggy areas, where our bottom bouncers have snagged countless times! Hoping this is the answer! Thanks for the video tutorial!
I ended up finding 1/2” diamond braid that works at Home Depot, and also found it in various sizes (1/4”, 3/8”, and 1/2”) that will work at Menards. I found that the diamond braid needs to be the “32 Strand” Diamond braid which has a tighter braid and keeps the lead shot inside the rope! Thanks again for the video!
Nice and simple just the way it should be! Good video
