I did something similar to this about 3 or 4 weeks ago... it was more of like a umo gaeshi, essentially what this was in the video however I had the elbow not collar or blouse and rolled into it... It was my 2nd day back after 15years off the mats... I regret doing it as the young guy didn't roll with me and ended up hitting his head and was out of practice for overa week as a precaution to concussion. feel gawd awful about it and haven't been back.... In part due to schedule as this was during the holiday break. I will eventually get back on the mats on the regular but I'm likely going to be far more reserved. * I had his right wrist with my left hand, and went under kind of like a drag, and had his elbow with my right hand, followed by a roll.
This is the original combat form or waza. I don't think it's used in competition much anymore. Because you can't hold the wrist. Standing arm locks have almost disappeared entirely.
I had a jiu jitsu professor who used to teach this, and an mma coach too. Maybe it’s never before seen for judo? But I doubt it. Got me to click though, good job 😬
@@45acpauto that is my point. We don’t really see 100% NEW techniques very often these days, just more and different ways to get to them or apply them in new situations
Love it 🔥🔥🔥
Saw this variation on Nick Yonetzuka's channel a while back. Used it myself. It's a good surprise.
Been doing this throw for years
Nice, I'll be incorporating this for sure.
''Gi and nogi is identical.''
-spoken before grabbing a guy by his collar.

This actually a "Te Guruma" ... "Geishi" counter so it makes no sense cause this technique isn't used for a counter

Is the movement shown at the beginning of this video Ude-Gaeshi...?!
Gatame means luxation. He's throwing uke because he's pressuring his elbow and hurting him. Besides that, the movement is similar

I know this technic but it isnt a throw and you get no score 😢

I was taught to trap the hand with the chin way back in the 80's. From a Judo instructor from Japan. Nothing new for me I used that move for decades!
this is a classic move in judo, what are you talking about? it's just not as common because the kumikata is so advanced nowadays
Did the mma coach grab the collar?
