It was a bit tricky, I needed a rental expert. That is why I created a link to find out more of what you want, and connect there so i can put you in touch. forms.gle/9i5v6H6j5ZXMxZBb6
You forgot to mention Colectivos: Local Shared Vans. For an authentic and affordable experience, colectivos are shared vans that locals use to travel between Playa del Carmen and surrounding areas like Tulum, Puerto Morelos, and Cancun. Grab them at the bus stop....way cheaper to get to Tulum and fun!!
Could you do a video comparing Playa vs Costa Rica? My wife and i are Canadian as well, we are looking at both destinations for a winter getaway. Looking to buy something on the beach or at least with a water view and 2 or 3 bedrooms - condos fine. Im leaning towards Mexico due to access to activites and culture. She leans towards Costa due to her security concerns. A video touching on aome of theae points would be great.
Sure but there isn't really a comparison to be honest. I already get a lot of slack because the two areas may not be similar in their eyes. But I can do some research. When you say Costa Rica vs. Playa. Your thinking Guanacaste to Puntarenas provinces? ( West coast of Costa Rica ) There isn't even really a comparison. Costa Rica is amazing but also comes with a price tag in that area. Your money will go a lot further in Playa then these areas.
No uber as of yet. But they do have collectivos, ( it's a shuttle system with locals and usually costs around $4. I just don't take them as I'm usually traveling with my life on my back and don't want to risk anything)
What else would you like to know about costs of things?
Avocados. Over here the price went through the roof lately.
@ avocados where? Mexico or Canada/USA?
Great video. Where do you find those types of apartments? Not much on Airbnb

Yes I use collectivos from time to time, this would bring things down way below my budget. I just have camera equipment when I travel.

thanks roger!
Very cool. Reasonable cost of living! Other than taxis, which seem kind of high. Do they have Uber out there?

How do you do for work to pay for your expenses as a foreigner? That's what I am trying to figure out. What can you suggest?
