    Congratulations! So happy for you! Thank you for sharing your experience! Some people around me seem a little dubious about my choice since I have a similar educational experience. But I am convinced that WGU is a wise path to take for individuals who want to reach their professional goals with little to no debt.

      Keishia Louis Do research on your options-read as much as you can and figure out what employers in your field are looking for. If you discover a much more efficient way to achieve your goals, then why choose the more convoluted, wasteful way? All the best to you!

      Thanks, yes, absolutely. I'm an educator, too. I've been researching for about a year. I'm in my final stages--officially starting July 1. It just makes sense to me. Take care!

      Keishia Louis Congrats on your decision to start July 1! With your careful planning, I have no doubt you’ve made a good choice. Don’t worry about the doubters who don’t have your experience and haven’t done the year’s worth of research that you have. Happy studies! ☺️

    Thanks for sharing. I plan to attend the February commencement and I'm super excited. I've been in and out of school for many years now and WGUs format really helped me find the drive the finish my degree program. I do not regret choosing WGU and I may consider it for my Master's. God bless.

    Congratulation!! I'm so glad for you! I'll be starting in June 1st, waiting on my transcripts eval to be completed. I have a AA at another college I have attended. I'm thinking I will have less time in getting by B.S. I'm glad to see someone giving experience on graduating from WGU. Thanks!

      My AA was in Computer Engineering Technology. At WGU I have sign up for the BS in Software Development. How was the courses were they challenging for you?

    • @hello3angel
      @hello3angel  6 років тому

      Shereal McNeal Awesome career path choices! My coursework was based a lot on what I already knew in my line of work since I had prior experience. I am sure if I enrolled in a software development program, it would take me a lot longer. There’d be a lot of new concepts for me, and frankly, the subject is simply more rigorous than education.

    • @thatsforrealmusic6884
      @thatsforrealmusic6884 6 років тому

      Thank vmcmv! I say the same for myself if I enroll in education, it will sure take me longer. Also I see that you're a skill musician, correct? Music in Piano was my minor in community college. The college I went to had a great music program.

      CONGRATS! ME TOO! June 1st! I'm so excited!! haha Just waiting on them to "Clear" me to start and then I can take the orientation. I know that they accepted 10 out my 26 credits from the community college and that means I have about 30 classes to finish at WGU before I get my B.S. Good luck to you!

      This is a good question! I am not sure about this since I already had my licensure and was actively working as a teacher when I completed this program. This, however, would be an excellent question to ask your WGU admissions counselor and/or mentor. Best of luck with your transition!

    Hi Vivian - thanks for sharing your experience. I am considering WGU North Carolina to achieve B.S. Marketing Management. Do you know where I would locate the commencement location and date calendar?

    • @hello3angel
      @hello3angel  6 років тому

      Hi Mack! Here is a current URL to a WGU page that lists commencement dates scheduled so far for this year: goo.gl/H3hTik. Even though they're only 2018 dates, they may give you an idea of what to expect later on for when you graduate! All the best! :)

    • @mackadams3205
      @mackadams3205 6 років тому

      Hi Vivian - thank you for your response. I am also interested in understanding more about your general experience with WGU such as transfer credits, GPA config, diff between pass/fail university and
      the grade/GPA based university.

    • @hello3angel
      @hello3angel  6 років тому

      Mack--The Pass grade I believe translates to 3.0 in GPA (but you'd probably want to double check that info with an enrollment counselor to be sure). I don't have any experience with transfer credits, as I did not transfer any course credit over, so I can't give you any solid information on that. From what I understand, the credits transfer process is case-by-case; they will likely look at course descriptions and when courses were taken to determine if the credit for the courses can be transfered to WGU and used toward your future degree. Let me know if you have any specific questions, and I'll try to answer the best I can!

    Did the degree help you land a good job? The school seems like a degree mill. They basically accept anyone and everyone

    • @hello3angel
      @hello3angel  6 років тому +10

      JTundra I did end up landing a job as a math interventionist this school year, although it’s hard to say whether or not my WGU degree helped me land the job or not. What I can say for sure is that it helped me get higher pay. Teaching is a bit unique in that Masters and Masters +30 results in increased salary at many public schools, guaranteed, based on a pre-set salary schedule. At that, it’s worth it for any teacher to complete the program who currently works as a teacher (especially if they can get the degree for less than $3k like I did). Whether or not the degree is worth it to you depends on many factors such as industry-specific details such as the example I provided and much more. I don’t think the fact that they accept everyone is an issue. What matters is that you demonstrate your ability as an individual to complete the program and learn from/apply what the program has to offer you. That being said, a degree may not be what you need in your specific situation. Do the research and you’ll find out what’s best for you and your specific needs and goals.

    • @kissapoohtaylor
      @kissapoohtaylor 5 років тому +4

      JTundra it is definitely not a degree mill. They honestly don’t accept every one. You have to have taken some college courses to even get accepted and have done pretty well. It’s honestly not like devry, or uop it’s truly a real school with a degree that is not looked at like an online degree. It has a great reputation.
