She was my first introduction to kpop when I was still into jpop not realizing she was Korean. :) She's amazing imo. No.1 is what I loved, in English, Japanese and Korean, plus some songs she did for the anime Inu-Yasha were my fave. So her and Girls Generation is what made my transition to kpop without my realizing at 13-16 yrs of age lol my Japanese exchange student probably thought I was weird suddenly thinking Korean artists was Japanese...but I was young and stupid and couldn't hear the difference like I can now. I love that you're reacting to BoA! She's been my favourite artist for a long time! BoA is arguably the pioneer of Kpop. Having debuted in 2000 at the age of 13 with "ID; Peace B" in Korea. Then debuting in Japan in 2002 with "Listen To My Heart" before exploding in popularity and going on to having 6 consecutive albums top the Oricon charts in Japan. I believe she is the only foreign artist to do so. (She even released an English album titled "BoA" in the US in 2009) Her popularity started rising shortly after, starting with "No. 1" in 2002, winning her the Artist of the Year award at the age of 16. She has released multiple hits over the years like "Valenti", "Sara", "Atlantis Princess", "Girls On Top", "Eat You Up", "Energetic", "Copy & Paste", "Hurricane Venus", "The Shadow", "Only One" and many more. For choreography, most of her songs are great, she's always been known for being an amazing dancer. There are some Japanese tracks that really stand out; "Eien", which had a dance version on UA-cam, but quality wasn't great. Still a good watch. Also the live performance of "Bad Drive" is a masterpiece. A personal favourite track of mine is "Camo", but also including ones you have watched or I've mentioned above. Between 2012 and 2018, there is CAMO and Kiss My Lips (that I remember). Also she is HUGE in Japan since early 2000s and you should check out the dance for Eien (from 2009 I think). Pretty cool. Eat You Up is her American song (cool dance moves ofc). I like Brand New Beat (from 2006) and it is a Japanese song... ofc, dancing style is probably from that era but I remember really enjoying that song and the dance at the time. I think No1 and My Name are super iconic (early 2000s)... She is known for her dancing skills and how fast she learns choreo since she has 20+ years of experience now. I suggest you check out her live performance medley od ''Bad drive''/''Style''/''Sweet impact'' from her ''BoA LIVE TOUR 2008 THE FACE'' in Tokyo. Check it out in private (because japanese songs are almost always flagged for copyright). It's one of her best dance/vocal performance... and you can see a lot of Michael Jackson inspiration (he is her idol).
A lot of people have made some great recommendations but the one I would recommend you react to or at least check out is her performance of 2008 song BAD DRIVE!!! As a long time fan, I think that is one of her best choreos of all time!

I definetely love seeing this sexier side of her and it's such a great song, plus that was her first self produced album and she was working with her brother for the music video. BoA debuted in 2000 and so far she has 20 albums (10 Korean, 9 Japanese, 1 English - not including repackage/special editions/mini albums). She is the reason why SM is as big as it is today. She saved it from bankruptcy back in the day. She is not only known as the queen of Kpop, she is considered to be the prototype what an idol should be. Currently she is one of the directors of SM. ♥
I had the luck to see Queen Boa live at SMTown in Santiago a few years ago. I have to say, even if the venue was filled with mostly young kids who didn't know who she was... once she was on stage, you better bet they all got awed by her performance. Nothing on the other performers, but given not as many people came to see her in comparison, it was quite amazing to see 10-13-year-olds screaming she was great and cool. The kids behind me (who came with their mom) asked me afterwards who the lady was. That's the power she has on stage.
I was there too! hola! And I felt the same, it was amazing how she captivated everyone there and the audience enjoyed so much. Even when she sang a Japanese song very new at that time and of course most people didn't hear it before but everyone was enjoying so much. The power she has.

And Yuri is my SNSD bias so I was so happy to see her.

If you have not watched them, I highly suggest watching her “Energetic” and “I’ll Eat You Up”. One she released in 2009 and I think the other was also before 2012. The woman really can move. She was the first female Kpop artist I saw. Because of her I thought there would be lots of the girls that danced. Nope. Mostly walking around and posing. You should be jiving to her Bad Drive & Sweet Impact performance from her 2008 The Face Tour. Then debuting in Japan in 2002 with "Listen To My Heart" before exploding in popularity and going on to having 6 consecutive albums top the Oricon charts in Japan. I believe she is the only foreign artist to do so. (She even released an English album titled "BoA" in the US in 2009)
Her popularity started rising shortly after, starting with "No. 1" in 2002, winning her the Artist of the Year award at the age of 16. She has released multiple hits over the years like "Valenti", "Sara", "Atlantis Princess", "Girls On Top", "Eat You Up", "Energetic", "Copy & Paste", "Hurricane Venus", "The Shadow", "Only One" and many more.
For choreography, most of her songs are great, she's always been known for being an amazing dancer. There are some Japanese tracks that really stand out; "Eien", which had a dance version on UA-cam, but quality wasn't great. Still a good watch. Also the live performance of "Bad Drive" is a masterpiece.

She has nothing to prove for years! Now all of her comeback are just works of art. My favorite one is Kiss my lips. I definetely love seeing this sexier side of her and it's such a great song, plus that was her first self produced album and she was working with her brother for the music video.

I had the luck to see Queen Boa live at SMTown in Santiago a few years ago. I have to say, even if the venue was filled with mostly young kids who didn't know who she was... once she was on stage, you better bet they all got awed by her performance. Nothing on the other performers, but given not as many people came to see her in comparison, it was quite amazing to see 10-13-year-olds screaming she was great and cool. The kids behind me (who came with their mom) asked me afterwards who the lady was. That's the power she has on stage.
I was there too! hola! And I felt the same, it was amazing how she captivated everyone there and the audience enjoyed so much. Even when she sang a Japanese song very new at that time and of course most people didn't hear it before but everyone was enjoying so much. The power she has.

And Yuri is my SNSD bias so I was so happy to see her.

Everybody be forgetting that she have legendary works for her japanese songs it's almost criminal that all the reactors are sleeping on it. You should be jiving to her Bad Drive & Sweet Impact performance from her 2008 The Face Tour. The choreography slaps even up till these day cos no other artists came close to her dance and performance level.

I just wanted you to see the crazy+insanely stamina-heavy choreography BoA's done in her 20's; it's such a pity that the videography/video quality from the 2000's is so poor+unable to fully capture the beauty of her performance.
My greatest regret about her career is that although 2000's Japanese DVD concert footage was decent, 2000's Korean live footage was dirt quality with the most atrocious camerawork surely directed to make our blood boil with the way they disrespectfully refuse to properly showcase the artist's choreography. That's why I've been her fan for more than 10 years and that's why she's still recognized as the queen of kpop eventuough it's been 20 years since she debuted. If you have a chance, I recommend watching her live performance videos of that songs. It just crazy.
