Doing the e30 mixture every time you need to fill up sounds like a huge pain, might be fun for a week but to have it on a daily driver would be a hassle
Yeah for some maybe. But I don’t find it a hassle really for me personally. Though I do I have a shell station that’s really close to where I live with both the E85 and 91 together. @@SirGraffitiArt For the calculator, all you have to do is adjust the fuel level percentage in the calculator for your fuel level at the time of fill up and it calculates it automatically the exact amounts of 91/93 and E85, only takes a few seconds. E85 varies considerably and can contain as little as 51% ethanol and as mush as 83% depending on your location and the season. As a result, if you’re mixing fuel to obtain a specific desired octane level you should always measure your fuel before mixing to determine the actual ethanol content. Also, the Stage X tune you’ve selected doesn’t allow your car to have a higher ‘knock’. You’ve misunderstood what that term implies, how it applies to your tuned ECU, and what your car is actually doing at different stages of your ECU tune. When you select your Stage X tune (in this case for E30, aka 94 Octane) what your ECU is doing is allowing the turbo to increase the boost pressure of your intake charge air to the point where it would otherwise experience pre-detonation caused by the heat of the extreme compression of the air/fuel mixture - even before the spark is delivered from the ignition system (spark plug). For those who don’t know what pre-detonation is, it’s basically a process of auto-ignition that (in this case) results after the hot compressed air from the turbo mixes with the fuel being squirted in by the injectors, and reaches a point where it spontaneously ignites. This is a particular problem in boosted cars because when air is compressed by the turbo it produces an extreme amount of heat - and the higher the pressure, the higher the heat. A FMIC will help cool the charge air, but at very high boost pressures, even the best FMIC won’t be able to cool it enough. When this hot charge air mixes with the raw fuel being injected into the engine, the air fuel mixture will spontaneously ignite if/when the temperature/pressure of the air fuel mixture reaches its auto-ignition point. And as you’ve no doubt figured out by now, the temperature at which auto-ignition occurs drops as pressure increases (inverse relationship). Now to be clear, the charged air from the turbo isn’t hot enough to cause pre-detonation on its own, but once the fuel air mixture is in the cylinder and it goes through the compression phase of the combustion cycle, the increased pressure of that compression (much higher pressure), combined with the ambient heat of the charge air (much less heat is now required), is often enough to cause pre-ignition / pre-detonation before the spark is applied - creating a distinctive ‘knocking’ sound (hence the name). Except…. Octane is a knock-inhibitor, and at the right percentage, it will prevent the air/fuel mixture from pre-detonating (aka ‘knocking’) while still in the compression stage of the combustion cycle, despite the higher temp of the charge air produced by the turbo delivering that air to the cylinder at higher boost levels (more pressure = more heat). Which is why if you run an E30 equivalent, your octane level is high enough that it can eliminate ‘knocking’, aka pre-detonation, even at the higher boost levels permitted by your Stage X tune. And even this is an oversimplification as your ECU can (and will) adjust a multitude of other factors that can affect knock, including timing of the spark and further adjustments of the fuel to air ratio. One other thing I would strongly recommend if you’re running higher than stock boost levels is investing in colder spark plugs. The poster didn’t mention it but it will help prevent knock as well and deliver better and more consistent performance. Hope that helps make better sense of the video.

The intake is a must in a forced induction motor anytime you can cool the air and increase the amount going into the turbo it’s going to run better and lag less, so even if it’s not a power adder which it is, that modification shouldn’t be overlooked
intakes help with power yes, from the factory the intake SHOULD only be enough or might not even be enough for your engine to fully breathe and produce high amounts of power especially in cars that are produced from factory with less than 400bhp. if you are going to be tuning your car an intake is not skippable.
first of all when you have a valve cover leak you must also replace the valve cover, plus the gasket, costs $2,200 at the dealer, the electric water pump costs $2,300.00 at the dealer to replace, when the transmission pan leaks you must replace the plastic oil pan which includes the transmission filter+ gasket, costs at the dealer $1,600, and when the main rear seal leaks it costs well over $3,000.00 to repair, and when your extended coolant tank leaks you also must replace the plastic tubes that connect to the engine which costs at the dealer $1,200,. these things will certainly fail with less than 50,000 miles and hopefully within the 4 year mfg warranty, in your 2014 X1 Xdrive M equipped 35i n55 engine...i know, cause they failed in mine in it's 5th to 8th year between 40 and 49,000 miles which was all out of warranty, also the battery failed in it's 5th year...... also the 4 brakes pads had to be replaced and when you replace the brake pads you must also replace the rotors this costs $1,700 dollars at the dealers.... so if you are going to buy this vehicle used make sure this work was done, make sure you put this auto up on a lift and have a good mechanic look for additional leaks.....

They have a transmission ‘flash’ but it doesn’t do nearly as much as xHP. From what I’ve heard the BM3 flash just removes torque limits, while xHP changes your shift speed and shift points in addition to removing torque limits, and it has a bunch of other features that allow you to customize the launch control. Overall people were saying BM3 doesn’t really have any affect or made the transmission shifts feel worse, while there is nothing but positive feedback from xHP and it was no different for me.

New to modding. I’m looking for a 435i and wanted to have it push 400whp. my question is is 400whp close or at the potential of the N55 engine? i know each engine stock can put out some more power. I just don’t want the engine or turbo breaking. Like i said new to modding so i’m not sure how much extra power would make an engine or turbo break or something. any info is appreciated :) TIA 👍
Based on my personal experience and research with my N55, 400whp is still not anywhere near the limit of the stock turbo or the engine. I've seen a couple people achieve near 500whp on the stock turbo and near 600whp with the stock engine internals. However, once you pass 500whp that's when your chances of blowing your engine increase and you should expect something to break in the engine. For the turbo, I'd say 480whp-500whp is the max for the stock turbo. You should upgrade to aftermarket turbos if you want to go past 500whp. 400whp is plenty of power and allows you to maintain reliability for the most part. You could easily daily with 400whp on the N55. I've been pretty much using my F30 as a daily with 400whp for the past 9 months and haven't had any issues at all relating to the engine itself or the turbo. Still a short amount of time I'd say. But I also don't race people or push the car all the time going full throttle so it also depends on that.
F30 can handle up to E30 with all stock fuel components. Once you go above E30 you’ll need to upgrade to stage 1 HPFP since the stock HPFP will most likely crash.
Not from what I've heard and experienced. I have had my F30 with the xhp trans tune now for about a year and half now and haven't experienced any issues.

The intake is a must in a forced induction motor anytime you can cool the air and increase the amount going into the turbo it’s going to run better and lag less, so even if it’s not a power adder which it is, that modification shouldn’t be overlooked
Need that info thanks bro 🙏🏾
Good video. Its crazy how prices went up so high after only two years. smh Plus now, we have to get a FEMTO unlock.
intakes help with power yes, from the factory the intake SHOULD only be enough or might not even be enough for your engine to fully breathe and produce high amounts of power especially in cars that are produced from factory with less than 400bhp. if you are going to be tuning your car an intake is not skippable.
first of all when you have a valve cover leak you must also replace the valve cover, plus the gasket, costs $2,200 at the dealer, the electric water pump costs $2,300.00 at the dealer to replace, when the transmission pan leaks you must replace the plastic oil pan which includes the transmission filter+ gasket, costs at the dealer $1,600, and when the main rear seal leaks it costs well over $3,000.00 to repair, and when your extended coolant tank leaks you also must replace the plastic tubes that connect to the engine which costs at the dealer $1,200,. these things will certainly fail with less than 50,000 miles and hopefully within the 4 year mfg warranty, in your 2014 X1 Xdrive M equipped 35i n55 engine...i know, cause they failed in mine in it's 5th to 8th year between 40 and 49,000 miles which was all out of warranty, also the battery failed in it's 5th year...... also the 4 brakes pads had to be replaced and when you replace the brake pads you must also replace the rotors this costs $1,700 dollars at the dealers.... so if you are going to buy this vehicle used make sure this work was done, make sure you put this auto up on a lift and have a good mechanic look for additional leaks.....
Guess ive saved myself thousands of dollars. You must not know how to turn a wrench😂

Nice tailights bro, did you have to code them in eventuality?
Nope. Once installed, they work as shown without any coding.
What a pain in the butt to mix e30. Maybe for track days only? To be running 400whp all day is just too much work! . Beautiful car by the way. Loved it.
I blew my charge pipe, literally sent plastic flying. I had foul plugs, I had to get a hpfp so the dyno guy would even look at my car, same mods as him but the hpfp really allowed my car to run better
This car is perfect. Looking to go from an M47 (e90) yes, a diesel, lol. To exactly this. F30, N55 with EWG.
Would love to push it stage 2 and that's plenty for me as it'll be my daily. Love to add an M3 kit on to it. (not to pretend its a rep) Just purely for how nice the Rear bumper sits from an M3
Yeah for some reason my n55 doesn’t like the intake while it drives in stop and go traffic I always get a check engine light reading air mass to high I unfortunately had to revert back to the stock air box.

Yeah what about a stage 1 tune. Is bootmod3 still the best tuner for the n55 engine in your opinion? I just purchased a n55 f30 and upgraded the charge pipe, intercooler, and the oil housing gasket along with the value cover gasket and now am looking for the best stage 1 tune as I will be daily driving this and what it to be more reliable.
All stage 1 tunes are basically do the same thing no matter the tuning company. Bootmod3 and MHD are the most widely used tuning programs for stage 1 so either are good.
Can you run 91 only? Is the e85 blend only for reaching 400hp or does it have to run that mixture all the time?

I would estimate it would be another $1-2k in labor if you dont want to install these yourself. I'm in San Diego county so I'm not sure what some good shops are in OC but you can use Yelp to find one with good ratings
European Auto Source is a good shop located in Anaheim.
I assume it works for an E90 N55 too
Yes but I don't think Bootmod3 has a license for the E90 N55. I think MHD does though.
So by having 400whp you basically have a 500hp car (as compared to stock bmw m3 information), correct ?
yes there is close to 20% drivetrain loss so 480-500 at the crank is accurate
E85 is "race fuel"which is essentially pure alcohol

@@hungonguyen2854 Oh no I don't have one. I've heard a BOV doesn't really do anything for the N55 since the factory diverter valve is already good and if anything it could make performance worse. Though it would sound amazing. But my intake already sounds like one so that's good enough for me lol

Do you need to upgrade any fuel thing to run e85 or can you just put it in after going to e30 map
to my knowledge, you can run up to E30 mix with the stock fuel system. If you want to run a higher percentage of E85 youd need to upgrade the HPFP. Though it may still be better to upgrade on the E30 map cause I noticed my HPFP was still struggling to keep up with the fuel demand when I ran datalogs. It never crashed though through the year and half I was on the stage 2 E30 map with the stock HPFP.
@@InlineSixAuto awesome appreciate it bro! Been wanting to try it but wasn’t sure I’ll keep an eye on the hpfp

Doesn’t bootmod3 come with a transmission flash included? Or no.
So my EWG 2014 FBO E85 435i stock turbo
And stock hpfp I’ll be making 400HP?

Did you have to prep your car for e85 or like buy fuel lines for e85 or can the 335i just do it stock
F30 can handle up to E30 with all stock fuel components. Once you go above E30 you’ll need to upgrade to stage 1 HPFP since the stock HPFP will most likely crash.
@@InlineSixAuto thanks for the quick and simple response
