100% this was when people were innovating like crazy. But to be fair it's getting a lot better there's loads of good quality premium games coming out now but people have gotten so used to not paying for apps on phones that they don't try them.
People may have been MORE hopeful about mobile games back then, but as a whole I don't believe we ever saw them as remotely close to on the same level as consoles.
No probably not. More like PSP or PSP mini games but there were some really fun game released back then. I think if Sony made a new Xperia Play today with current tech you could achieve that console game parity but maybe with some lower graphics settings
@MMPK Their best bet, I think, is something like the switch. I don't know much about Xperia, but at least with the Switch, we have the option to play it as a handheld or as a base station console. If that's not an excellent example of modern gaming consoles, I don't know what is.
