Before Jamal Murray recently and the championship run, Andre Miller was my #1 point guard the Denver nuggets ever had. Nowhere near world level athleticism but among the goats in IQ and durability. He made being a basketball fan worth it.
Amazing interview and going deep in floor general point guard game. I hope you guys can get a defender version of this episode. Someone like Andrei Kirilenko
Hey Jelani, Since this is an "All the Smoke Production, when Kenyon Martin was a guest on ATS, I believe he mentioned that Andre Miller was fearless as a PG
Someone needs to collect these john stockton stories. The more you hear about him the more you appreciate these hardened vets getting shook by the "Minivan Mobster"
If Michael Malone departs from being HC in Denver. Andre Miller should be take the spot or at least Head AC. He would be great for a guy like Jamal to learn to make the game easier.
If you watch Andre Miller it debunks this idea of the game being better because of "evolution" and being "stronger, bigger, faster". All buzz words. If you know how to play the game you can play in any era
J-Mac played a decade in the NBA, #2 player in class of 1995 behind KG, UCLA legend, and doing his thing behind the scenes in the media space right now. And he’s a cool ass dude
It always drives me crazy that guards can’t pace the game. They’re just running up and down. That’s why the game ebbs and flows like it does and no one can hold a lead
Andre Miller was definitely a household name in my opinion you had a few players that were house hold names in his era that didn't have the media push but they had the push from the team and coaches, it was different back then, they play and ost players were consistent with whatever the role was...
That 2013 Nuggets team had one of the most talented and excitin teams I've ever seen, definitely was a problem on 2k13 as well, I really wanted to see Galli vs Klay at that time
Steph changed the Game but it's not for the better. Sure.... Any AAU gym you walk in all the kids are shooting 3s. The question is how many kids to see actually making them? Exactly...1% I'm with Kobe on basketball development. 😒
When it comes to "Playing the right way" we should all refer back to MJ film. Mike always played the right way. Just like 'going left' people don't watch MJ film .😒
The first time i remember watching Dre was in college the 98 west regional final vs Arizona... he put on a show... always was one of my favorite point guards... not flashy... steady and reliable 👌🏿
When kids ask what "playing the right way" means, there's three players I tell them to watch Tim Duncan, Jason Kidd, & André Miller.
Good list.
Penny Hardaway, Magic, Garry Payton, Grant Hill, John Stockton, Rajon Rondo, Steve Nash, Derrick Fisher
Good list
Hakeem Grant hill klay rondo
@@bigpoppa6658take Steve Nash off add Hakeem
A lot of players say Andre Miller made their job x1000 easier
IQ out of this world
He would make a hell of a head coach
@@oaklandsoldier8520he coaches for the Grand Rapid Gold I think. Denver's G-league team
Always liked Andre Miller as a player. Seems like a chilled humble guy!
Super chill and humble!
Cerebral PG’s always have longevity in the league!!
Lost build in today’s game
One of the more underrated and under appreciated Point Guards to play in the NBA.
I love how you guys highlight players who impacted the game, but went under the radar their whole career.
Yessir
Ben Wallace would be an amazing get

When he was talking about golden state that shit was funny

That would be fire.
Hey Jelani,
Since this is an "All the Smoke Production, when Kenyon Martin was a guest on ATS, I believe he mentioned that Andre Miller was fearless as a PG
Love hearing Dre talk the game
They don’t call him the professor for nothin
This is epic.

Minivan Mobster is a tough ass nickname
What a baller
As I white pg in HS I always looked at Andre Miller as inspiration. Salute
Andre Miller was a great point guard
D Rose used to do him dirty 🤣
😂
Loved Andre's game
Same here.
I was a blazer fan when andre miller played for the blazers.
That's when I became a fan of his game. He was one of the all time great point guards.
Underrated player

My go to free agent in old 2k

Agree
I’ve heard of jelani McCoy before just don’t remember from who though
J-Mac played a decade in the NBA, #2 player in class of 1995 behind KG, UCLA legend, and doing his thing behind the scenes in the media space right now. And he’s a cool ass dude
@@forgottenseasonsnba in fact KG is exactly who I remembered talking about him
For whatever reason i want to say he played with the Wizards at some point
I believe he started off with the Supersonics
🔥
Luka won MVP in Europe averaging about 15 pts a game. No AAU hero ball over there.

Absolutely incredible interview. Jelani sir I am impressed with how you welcome and respect your guests. 🫡👍🏿. Excellent questions!
Glad you enjoyed it!

The Mavs lost to the heat in '06 not in 2010 like Dylan said. You need to brush up on your basketball knowledge Dylan.
I said mavs beat the heat in 2011 not 2010 fam. Ball knowledge is present
Great interview of a great player! He was one of my favorite players to watch. A true pg 🫡🫡
Andre Miller wouldn't impress you with athleticism but this guy had a great IQ for the game. He was probably a top 5 lob thrower for sure.
A1 lob thrower for sure
I’ll never forget Dre lead the league in assist and still got snubbed for allstar smh so underrated true point guard
52 was crazy against my mavs
PG should be studying Andre game. I wish he was an assistant coach on my favorite team.
Facts. He's the head coach of the Nuggets G-League team, so don't be surprised to see him on an NBA bench soon.

Cp used to kill my dawg but he still a legend
As a lifelong 43yr old Warriors fan. STEPH IS NOT A PG. Draymond ,iggy, livingston played more pg than steph did.
That 2013 Nuggets team had one of the most talented and excitin teams I've ever seen, definitely was a problem on 2k13 as well, I really wanted to see Galli vs Klay at that time
My Pops became a Nuggets fan because of Andre Miller. He loved bros control of the game and old school game.
Steph changed the Game but it's not for the better.

There is expectations to an athletic game that’s a bar.
Hope y'all can get Eddie Jones for an interview. He's been real low key sense he retired. I would love to hear what he's been up to.
That would be dope. If anyone got a line to Eddie Jones hmu
Andre I give props too because he would actually guard the opposing star point guards unlike most players nowadays
Yea he wasn’t the star either , it was his job 😂
