It's so good isn't it :) 😁 Paranoia Agent is excellent - Satoshi Kon was brilliant, would highly recommend basically all his other work like Paprika if you haven't seen it (guessing you're all over it though haha) and I am such a huge Cowboy Bebop fan. Yoko Kanno's score is amazing. Got the vinyl a few months back and it's on high rotation. There's also a 25th anniversary Blu Ray set that's out or just about to come out. I'm very tempted haha
Love this song! I had transcribed it by ear and I could play it, but the way I was doing it was kinda hard and the song is pretty fast, this is a nice way to simple it down! Sounds amazing too!
@@3BeatSketcher hey thanks so much! I haven't done any others yet but I've done a couple of other anime themes (Pokemon and Trigun). What other tunes from The Pillows would you be keen on seeing?
@@davedoingguitar man idk there's so many good songs! They're one of my favorite bands so take your pick! Funny Bunny, Last Dinosaur, Bran-New Love Song...I mean you really can't go wrong! I'll definitely look through your videos too! You're officially added to my growing library of song lessons 😅
@@3BeatSketcher awesome, I'll have another listen through them and see if anything sticks haha 👍 Thanks so much! There's a few lessons here so go wild haha 👍👍
Very nice lesson, but I think you're wrong for the main riff chord. You can spot it by watching live converts and official video clip, the strumed chord looks more like : e---8 B---8 G---6 D---7 A---- E---- It mostly sound the same, but the tone is a bit different (more treble on the version actually played). But it's another way to play it, it's fine
@@winter_monkey with your fretting hand you hold down the strings you want to hear notes from pressing them onto the fretboard, whilst Alsop laying the fleshy part of the side of your first finger (pointer finger) over the remaining strings. This deadens any sound coming from them whilst allowing you to attack with your strumming hand and not need to worry about the wrong notes coming out. Hope this makes sense!
Just using some low-mid level overdrive from a Creation Audio Labs Holy Fire and a bit of reverb from a Strymon Flint. Going through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and playing with my Fender Tele US Standard 👍
@@davedoingguitar I guess you're using the bridge position, right ? I'm a newbie with tele, just bought one few months ago and I'm not really familiar with single coil pickups, so I'm trying to figure out how to get this tone. I think I'm gonna use a Fender deluxe amp with a low level DS-1 and plate reverb, but for some other songs it would be more suitable to use an orange rockaverb amp imo (i.e : Stalker in Babylon).
@@-Batou-yeah I think it was bridge position. I'm using my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe in this video (and all the others) so if you're after the same sort of tone you've hit the nail on the head
This song is burned into my memory. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Such a great, catchy tune. You're welcome :)
My all time favorite anime along with Paranoia Agent and Cowboy Bebop. Good Stuff. Thx, Dave!!

Do you have a link to the tab sheet? The ones I've found don't sound as good.
All my tabs are available through Patreon (linked in the description) 🙂
hey how do you mute the other strings when doing the power chords, or are you just not picking them.

Hi, what effects are you using for this particular song?

did you just use overdrive on your amp?
No the overdrive I use is a Creation Audio Labs Holy Fire 👍
can you do the opening for beck the anime
I've never seen Beck but just checked the theme out as well as Moon on the Water and sounds really cool. I'll see what I can do :)
How'd you get your guitar to sound like that?
@@legendonyxtaco fender tele USA standard - creation audio labs holy fire - Strymon flint (reverb) - fender hot rod deluxe 👍👍
